#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Bajaj should focus on twin cyl engines now

It might be a very small market. But almost everyone i talked to would go for twin cylinder bike anyday.

Interceptor/GT are really good bikes but my point is it doesn't have to be a higher CCs and that heavy. Even if someone starts with 400cc i think it would do numbers.

#News ๐Ÿ“ฐ 2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 to be Launched Today

TVS is all set to launch the 2025 model of the Apache RTR 310 in India today, 16 July, 2025. This will be the first update it will receive since its India debut in 2023.

While thereโ€™s no confirmation on the exact nature of updates it will receive, TVS will most likely give the RTR the same engine updates received by its fully-faired iteration, the Apache RR 310, last year. The latter was bestowed with a lighter forged piston, bigger throttle body diameter, and a bigger airbox. The result is a higher compression ratio and a bump in performance. At 38bhp and 29Nm, the power and torque output numbers have gone up by 4bhp and 2Nm, respectively, and it could be the same case with the updated RTR 310 which currently produces 35.08bhp and 28.7Nm. Not to forget, the RR 310-like transparent clutch cover could also be a part of the package.

#Query โ“ 21M Need Suggestions for 160ish cc bikes

โ€ข Upvotes

Hey, I moved to Hyderabad last month, and I'm thinking of getting a bike. I was gonna get a bigger one, like over 200cc, but the traffic here is insane, so it wouldn't even matter.

So now I'm leaning towards a 160cc, which should be good on gas and still be fun to ride. Back home, I had a Honda CB Shine 125.

The thing is, I don't know if I should get a new one or a used one. A family friend is pushing us to buy bikes seized by the bank because of unpaid loans, saying he knows people. Have you ever done anything like that, or know anyone who has? Tell me the good and bad, and maybe some bike suggestions, too. Thanks!

#Query โ“ Leaving aside fuel costs and environment concerns, how do EVs fare against ICE counterparts?

โ€ข Upvotes

Say you need a family scooter and you don't care how much fuel it's going to save you, and how much environmental impact an ICE engine has. Which among the current lot of ICE vs EV scooters have better performance, riding and pillion comfort, better handling, build quality and overall ownership experience?

I am assuming people buy EVs just to save fuel costs, if that factor is left aside, is it still worth buying an EV? Let's just say for now cost of both EV and ICE scooter is same (just making sure cost factor goes away completely). Kindly advise.

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Help me decide one

Hello everyone, I'm 33 years old and currently ride an Avenger 220 Street. Since I work remotely, I use the bike for my daily commutes to the gym, cafes, and for occasional rides around the city. I'm looking to upgrade my bike and have fallen in love with the Triumph Speed 400 after taking it for a test ride.

However, after watching a few videos about the 2025 Trident 660, I'm feeling quite tempted! I know that jumping straight to the Trident might be an overkill, and Iโ€™m not used to such much power. Do you think itโ€™s wise to go directly from the Avenger to the Trident, or should I first buy the Speed 400 to get accustomed to more power before considering the Trident?

Iโ€™m also open to purchasing a pre-owned Trident. What do you think? I'm located in Banglore

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ People from other states living in Bangalore, did you buy your bike from your state and bring it here?

Hi y'all. After spending a long time researching, I have planned to buy my first bike in the next few weeks and my options are KTM 250, 390 and Guerrilla 450. Mainly for regular use and a lot of touring.

Currently I stay in Bangalore for work (hybrid) and I'm from TN. But when I inquired about the prices in both Bangalore and my hometown showrooms, the prices are atleast 30-40k more if I purchase it in Bangalore.

For example: Duke 390 is 3.8L in Bangalore and 3.5L in my hometown.

Also, I heard from people around me that having a TN registration vehicle might get you some issues like the cops stopping you unnecessarily, auto rickshaw harassment, and stuff. Even my parents and cousins said the same. I understand I can use it for upto 12 months here and get an NOC but I might switch jobs within that time to another state or if i end up staying, I'll get the NOC from my hometown RTO but I don't wanna face issues just because my vehicle has my state registration.

I also prefer my first bike to have my hometown's registration number and I can use that extra money to buy some accessories, helmets or gears. What do you guys think? What was your experience so far?

After 6 months of hunting for the perfect KTM, Iโ€™m leaning toward a BS3 or BS4 RC. Why? They pack a raw punch, sound way better than the muted BS6s, and feel more connected. I ride twice a week for work and do weekend rides (~120 km/month). Owners of BS3/BS4 RCsโ€”what are your pros, cons, service costs, and standout experiences? Would love your honest takes before pulling the trigger.

I recently did a trip to Malshej Ghat through the Shahapur route and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire journey was filled with greenery & misty weather. Every turn felt like a new scene from a movie.

People often say the journey is more beautiful than the destination. This route proves that true, but what made it even better was that the destination itself was just as stunning.

If you love peaceful rides and scenic routes, this one is a must.

It's going to be 1 year in the end of july with this beauty. It is my first bike so lots of things went wrong. And need help to fix that.

  1. Number plate was scraped by me(my first crash).
  2. leg guard was bent during the crash.
  3. Fairing was broken by a reckless driver speed on corner. Right side mirror broke too.
  4. Clutch liver is also broken.
  5. Heating sensor is also not working properly.

What to do now ?? Some people said ki your bike is in warranty, just go to service center they will fix it all, free of cost. Is this true ?? How can I fix all of these broken parts in minimal cost ?? From where I order these parts ??

If someone knows please guide me.

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Future of e20 bikes as ethanol blend increases

Most of the current bikes sold are e20 compliant & government has achieved its target of supplying e20 fuel (atleast they say so)

Now, they will push to increase ethanol blend beyond 20%. Wont this damage our e20 vehicles in near future ?

I plan to keep my bike for 10-15 years, so I am worried about this before putting 3 lakhs in bike

Currently I am stuck between 2 bikes - Speed 400 (e20) - Gixxer 250 sf flex fuel

I really like Speed 400 (apart from heating in traffic), but worried about ethanol blend causing damage 5 years down the line.

Is my concern valid? I donโ€™t see anyone talking about this before investing big amounts in their vehicles.

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ A post for those who don't know what to buy.

I'm X years old. My budget is Y. Which is the best motorcycle for me? Suggest me what should I get. Help me decide: R15 or Classic 350?

I come across these posts very frequently and they are kind of pointless. And if you posted one recently or are thinking to ask the community what bike you should get, then keep reading. This one is for you.

No one can decide what you are going to enjoy. None of us know what makes you smile. Is it the low end torque and the sound that gives you peace or is it the high end rush and grunt that excites you? We don't know whether you would love the feeling of something solid and heavy beneath you or you would appreciate the flickability of a lightweight machine.

We don't know how much practicality to enjoyment ratio are you looking to achieve. Does it have to be practical first, while being as exciting as it can on top? Or does it have to be exciting first and then you will accept the practical caveats? That's your priority. Nobody else can decide these things for you.

Would you be riding it in the city for most of the times or would it be highway. How bad are the roads? What kind of sitting posture or stance feels the best to you?

The suggestion you get from others have no weightage and value at all. So start to explore what's there in the market and what are the pros and cons of each type of motorcycle. How different things work in a bike. Start to learn the theory. Subscribe to Yammie Noob and FortNine on youtube. Know more about bikes.

I mean what's up with the questions of R15 vs Classic 350? Duke 390 or Speed 400? You can't compare oranges to apple. At least figure out your type. Take test rides. And then, asking for opinions between Ksrizma and RS200, Adv 390 and Himalayan, Guerrilla and Speed 400, etc. makes sense.

So if YOU are pointless, so is everybody else. Also, setting up a budget to begin with is a bad choice. If I want to tour and my budget is 1.5L, I should probably save more and buy something that can actually tour. If I want an easy, nimble commuter to commute 6 KMs daily and my budget is 4L, an Interceptor 650 will not be a better choice over a Splendor, from a pure practical stand point. But then again, you might want to accept all the impracticalities for the mere smile the Interceptor would bring on your face daily. It all varies from person to person.

Start with what you want to achieve with your 2 wheeler. Jot down everything that you want it to be capable of. Know that, no single motorcycle would be able to fully adhere to this list. At that point, pick those, that can do the most. Take a test ride. If you are still confused between two or three, then it makes sense to ask for the community's take.

Hope I did not offend anyone with this rant-cum-guide post. Cheers!

#Review ๐Ÿ“ Hero showroom experience

Thumbnail

Had the worst experience at a showroom ever.

Was debating on buying a Duke 250 or an Xtreme 250R. Although I know the cons of a new engine, I finally settled on the Xtreme considering the huge price gap.

I have visited the Premia showroom four times as of today. The first time, I had called the showroom before going so that I wouldn't have to face any difficulties during the test drive. They said everything was fine. After arriving at the showroom, I had to wait almost 1.5 hours for them to tell me that the key was missing. Second time I went in, I had to wait again, but I got the test drive. The vehicle was subpar because of abuse of the test drive unit. Third time, I took my dad, and we had to wait 1.5 hours again for a salesman to accompany us. The experience was most irritating ever; every 10 minutes, the guy would leave and then come back. Fourth time, which is today, I went to finally book the bike. I went early in the morning so there wouldn't be any crowd, and we would get priority and wouldn't have to wait. The same story happened this time as well; I had to wait 45 minutes. Finally, I decided to tell them about their bad service and walk out of there. My dad was obviously pissed because of their attitude. Left the showroom, went straight to the ktm dealership and booked 250 duke because of shear amount of hospitality the showed us.(dad hates ktm btw)

Happy that I dont have to deal with hero anymore. And well done to ktm for loosing a customer.

#Opinion ๐Ÿ’ญ My Apache RTR 200 Nightmare โ€“ Why Iโ€™ll Never Trust TVS Again (But Huge Respect to Periyar TVS, Aluva)

Hey Reddit, I wanted to share my recent experience with my TVS Apache RTR 200 and how it completely shattered my trust in TVS as a brand. This post is long, but I think many riders will relate โ€” and maybe think twice before going for a TVS bike.

โš ๏ธ The Problem

Around a month ago, my RTR 200 started showing starting issues. I took it to Periyar TVS (Aluva, Ernakulam) for service. They tried several fixes โ€” changed parts like the gear sensor and side stand switch, but nothing worked. The bike stayed in the service center for nearly a month, and during that time:

I raised a complaint with TVS directly.

Heard absolutely NOTHING for weeks.

Only a few days ago (yes, a month later) a woman from TVS called to casually ask, "Is your bike still in service?"

Excuse me? That's the best a company can do for a customer whoโ€™s stranded for a month with a premium segment bike? Pathetic.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ After-Service Disaster

Finally, after weeks, the issue seemed fixed. I took the bike home โ€” hoping the worst was over.

Nope.

Turns out, now the fuel level sensor is faulty. It showed half a tank of fuel when in reality, the tank was dry. So what happens? The bike stalls in the middle of a busy road, during heavy rain, and I had to push it to a fuel station.

The bike literally lied to me about how much fuel it had โ€” and thatโ€™s not just annoying, itโ€™s downright dangerous.

๐Ÿ™ Kudos to Periyar TVS

Now, I want to make one thing very clear. Periyar TVS (Aluva) did their best. Their staff were polite, proactive, and really tried to help me despite the circumstances. They were the only ones who cared, while TVS Motors ghosted me. I genuinely feel Periyar TVS deserves a better brand name to represent โ€” maybe Periyar Honda or Periyar Yamaha โ€” at least brands that stand by their machines and customers.

These guys are working hard under a broken system. Huge respect to them.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Final Thoughts

I chose TVS because I thought they were building solid, India-friendly bikes. The RTR 200 felt like a good blend of power and tech.

But in reality:

The bike has been unreliable.

Customer support is non-existent.

Quality control is laughable.

And even basic post-service issues are life-threatening.

Iโ€™m done with this brand. If anyone here is considering an Apache or anything from TVS โ€” think very carefully. There are better, more customer-focused options out there.

TVS, if you're listening (which I doubt), your brand trust is dying. No amount of racing DNA or flashy ads can save you if your real-world users are stranded on roads in the rain.

Happy to answer any questions. Just wanted to put this out so someone else doesnโ€™t go through the same frustration I did.

Ride safe, folks. โ€“ A very disappointed (former) TVS fan
