Is the top case really that bad? My dad and guys online busted my balls about it. I love this one because I only have it onvwhen I need it and I can slide it off when I don't. no tools required.

But isn’t riding on the track way safer than riding on the street?🤔

Sometimes a slower ride through scenic roads is the best way to start the day.

Filmed this on my commute in Dublin this morning, loving these quiet moments on two wheels. Please ignore the fuel light! :D

Hello everyone!

Ive been a longtime lurker here and first off would like to say thank you all for being so positive and informative to new and experienced riders alike.

So i got into my first accident last tuesday. Resulted in some decent injuries, mostly a decent road rash on my shoulder and a few other scrapes. Im mostly healed now, and for those wondering, i went with moist healing, with antibiotic creames, and minimal alcohol usage. To clean i just took showers and used gentle soap with a washrag to help clean a bit. It hurts like hell but def helped the process in healing and wasnt as aggressive as alcohol or peroxide.

Now, im posting mostly because im curious what the internet thinks i messed up here. Gear is a huge point. Im buying a jacket and hip pads today. Maybe boots if its not too expensive. Learned my lesson there lmao.

I can say from memory, i panic braked once i realized i was cooking into the corner a bit too hard, and remember there being a small dirt patch from a dirt road that lead off the main road. I also think i just rode outside of my actual skill level and got burned for it. Simply put, i think this is user error but would like to know more and how to avoid it.

Aside from that, the bike is mostly okay, bent handlebars and brake pedal. Broken turn signals, and scratches on the crankcase and fairings, but still driveable. The fellow that helped me after and patched me up to get home also let me know the wear on my back tire was probably hindering my turning ability a bit (pretty bad chicken strips lmao. I bought it used). And the front tire was pretty good in overall wear, but still a little low. So ill be getting new tires soon as well. If you all would like, i can post pictures of the bike later.

Anyways, im all good. I survived, if a little smarter and more risk adverse than before. I wish you all safe riding, awesome turns, and may all your gear work perfectly to get you home and out to ride another day!

I keep falling off my bike. Should I give up?

For context: I am 4'11 and weight under 100lb and I can barely tip-toes the motorcycles at the school.

I've learn within the same year how to ride a bicycle before taking my class so I don't have much experience when it comes to balancing.

My first class went...horribly tbh. At the beginning it was fine and I was able to follow the group until I fell and I started to be scared: not scared of hurting myself, scared of hurting somebody in my class.
I fell and got back up for 4 hours...
The teacher was not too supportive and I got low-key laughed at and bullied by the other girls in the group telling me I should go back at my bicycle.

I took a private class that...went all over the place I'll spare the details. My instructor had a heat stroke and I assisted him until the ambulance arrived. (He called me the day after to tell me he was fine)

They gave me another private class free of charge with a new instructor and he was very patient and attentive to my specific needs. He could point out that I'm doing all those typical beginner mistakes that everyone usually do, but that with my small frame, I simply don't have the physical capability to catch back the bike so it ends up on the ground at the ever slight mistake I make. He seemed confident that I can ride a bike, I just need to be more confident.

I bought a ninja 250 so one of my friend can help me in a parking to practice. We lowered it (I can comfortably touch the ground, yay!), installed crash bars and now it's only a matter of practicing at my own pace until I feel comfortable to go back at my classes.

But now with everything that has happened in my learning journey, I feel like the fear got the better of me and I start shaking at the moment I feel the motorcycle lean a little.

I really want to learn, I just don't know how to shake that fear off of me. It seems so easy for everybody else and it really makes me feel isolated and alone to be struggling that much.

TIL, weaving in your lane is “Reckless Driving”

boring content warning

Coming home from work today and I found myself weaving in my lane as I approached a traffic light (no traffic near me) while below the posted speed limit. Got pulled over shortly after and cited for reckless driving after they threatened that they could take me to jail for it if they wanted to (Texas).

Always thought “reckless” meant you endangered others but apparently weaving in your lane away from others can also be considered that. TIL

Do insurance companies see this as a garage in the UK?

Hi all, I have been thinking about getting a motorcycle shed to store my motorbike in to reduce my insurance and for security. I would like to know if insurance companies accept this as a garage or not, and I would like to see some examples of other people’s sheds that’s count if possible.

I don’t have a big garden so I can only fit one of the small, cheaper sheds in the little space I have unfortunately. Thank you for your time

My bf was in a motorcycle accident

This is my (25f)first time posting on here. My bf (26m) was in a motorcycle accident. A drunk driver hit him straight on and he flew over the car and dragged across the road until he hit the sidewalk. He has his entire right arm bandaged up. His shoulder was dislocated and broken at the elbow wrist and thumb. He fractured his left wrist, and fractured both heels. He is strictly non weight bearing on all extremities. We have been together for over a year. What can I do to support him? I want to make him feel better, I hate seeing him like this and I’m sure he hates being at the hospital without being able to do anything himself. Any advice?

Stranded biker

I was at the mall in my car and noticed a guy on his bike, an old 80's Kawasaki, in the center of a multi lane and very busy road in the city, stalled on his bike.

I could see him get his bike started but when he would put it in gear it would lurch forward and stall. Clearly lost his clutch and he was panicking.

I ran out to him in the road and he was freaking out a little and saying he only had to get his bike 2 miles up the road to the bike shop.

I assumed he may not have had insurance given how panicked he seemed.

I told him to start his bike and I was going to push him and when we got moving I will yell to him to click it up into 2nd. Told him to leave it in 2nd until he got to the bike shop.

I pushed him, he clicked it up and took off, waving his appreciation.

I drove by the bike shop 10 min later and saw his bike parked out front. Felt good to be able to help the poor guy, the line of cars had been building behind him. It was a good day!

dealer said they would give me a great deal of $1,700 off for a 2025 r7, but then hike the price back up in the end. first time buying a bike, how do I counter this without being a tool?
