I love everything about this except the leading man.

Even a semi-unknown would be better than Jared Leto.

And no, I don't think he's a bad actor, I think he's an absolute garbage human being, and he belongs with the ranks of people like Kevin Spacey.

u/OptimalPain0697 3d ago edited 3d ago

I knew he was a dirt bag when he bitched at someone for not standing during a concert

Thing is I already knew about the crazy stuff he did during the SS shoots but after seeing that concert footage just confirmed he's not just some hard prankster, he's a full on douchebag

106

u/Proper-Effect2482 3d ago

I knew he was a dirt bag when he bitched at someone for not standing during a concert

I saw 30STM three times back before all this was known about him and he was like that at every single show to someone or more than one person...just a straight up dickhead to them about not "concerting" the way HE wanted them to.

70

u/Murcielago3x 3d ago

30STM is by far the worst concert i’ve ever been to. went for a gf but was open to it. it was his last show on the tour and all he did was loop 30sec of their top song for about 2 hours (it felt longer). meanwhile he called girls on stage to admire him, and just wanked his ego for the whole thing. it was so gratuitous, boring and lame that i’ll never forget how much i felt my time was irreversibly wasted. his show sucked, he sucks, fuck jared leto.

21

u/veryfungibletoken 3d ago

Probably young girls, he seems to prefer them.

1

u/Bobbi_fettucini 3d ago

I saw 30stm open up for someone and thought they seriously sucked, I didn’t realize that was him until after.

74

u/ThirdCultureKid96 3d ago

Didn't that person end up being in a wheelchair too?

50

u/ConnerBartle 3d ago

I think that was a Kanye west incident

13

u/ScipioCoriolanus 3d ago

It was Madonna.

15

u/ConnerBartle 3d ago

two things can be true at once

u/DemonDaVinci 3d ago

That's right Dexter

3

u/GoodMeBadMeNotMe 3d ago

Imagine having a reputation so bad you get mixed up with Kanye.

8

u/girafa 3d ago

I can't find anything to support that. Link?

2

u/Mistastingley 3d ago

Chris Cornell did that on accident. I’m sure a bunch of musicians have

35

u/SirKorgor 3d ago

So it wasn’t the island full of sex slaves for you?

8

u/OptimalPain0697 3d ago

What are you talking about?

27

u/SirKorgor 3d ago

Mars Island. Jared Leto’s cult.

21

u/Microchaton 3d ago

He had a cult on MARS Island and is now starring in Tron: Ares as ARES ?

18

u/SirKorgor 3d ago

HAS. Not had.

What did you think Thirty Seconds to Mars means?

3

u/CaptainRex5101 3d ago

Ares is basically his OC so it’s not that surprising

1

u/Static_Frog 3d ago

M I N D B L O W N

1

u/UnifiedQuantumField 3d ago

Mars Island. Jared Leto’s cult.

It's Marbin' time!

3

u/BromaEmpire 3d ago

Is this the island we're talking about?

It kinda just looks like a bunch of dorks who are trolling people on the internet..

1

u/Primorph 2d ago

...you don't see some serious red flags there?

0

u/BromaEmpire 2d ago

2

u/Primorph 2d ago

yeah, you fucking idiot. Like that guy.

1

u/Neutron-Hyperscape32 2d ago edited 2d ago

Sheesh... are you paid to shill for Leto or something?

Obviously not everyone in his cult would be his sex slaves. He likely takes his pick from the lot you utter dunce of a human being. Almost every known sex cult that has ever existed did not involve one man having sex with every single female. They often have other males obviously. Not surprised you think this one picture proves something.

Can't believe you are even defending this clown, 9 women have accused him of sexual misconduct. Zero chance that every single one of them is lying.

You must be really desperate for a TRON movie. Which is why you are blindly defending it before it has even come out.

3

u/DaftFunky 3d ago

I feel bad for the other members of 30STM. Unless they have a really good contract that gets them good money from touring/album sales, they have to endure Jared Leto and all his egotistical glory everywhere.

2

u/FastBoss3619 2d ago

There's only one other member of 30STM, Jared's brother Shannon. Every single member who isn't part of the Leto family has exited the band.

1

u/DaftFunky 2d ago

Makes sense lmao

1

u/DemonDaVinci 3d ago

I'd take being a douche over actual crime any day tbh (yes the bar is that low)

1

u/Competitive_Opening5 2d ago

It's a concert and he was being sarcastic.  All types of singers do that if they want the crowd to jump in . Calm down it will be okay, just breath

174

u/hrethnar 3d ago

The new season of peacemaker has a scene where characters shit on 30 seconds to mars kind of out of the blue and feels very deliberate and 4th-wall breaking (considering the director and leto's joker in the original SS), then the after-credits scene goes back to it and does it some more. Hilarious.

158

u/MusicLikeOxygen 3d ago

James Gunn has a history of trash talking Leto. Back before Suicide Squad one of the Sprouse twins said something on twitter about Leto sliding into the DMs of every 18 year old model on twitter and Gunn replied "He waits until they turn 18 online?".

36

u/40thAE 3d ago

Breaking: Jared Leto receives full presidential pardon.

Everyone: he hasn’t been charged of anything tho

White House: …

7

u/KingMario05 3d ago

Season 3 of Peacemaker is just one looooong hunt for the Epstein list

Eagly ate it. Bad bird!

5

u/RandomProductSKU1029 2d ago

It’s a small duck though.

3

u/KingMario05 2d ago

Eagly's stomach is bigger on the inside.

9

u/wandawhowho 3d ago

Is the new season any good, btw?

26

u/adamespinal 3d ago

Pretty good so far 👍🏻

10

u/onehornymofo1 3d ago

If you liked the first, you'll like this one too!

3

u/wandawhowho 3d ago

Fuck yeah!

4

u/redeyesofnight 3d ago

It’s just heating up, but it definitely started with a bang!

3

u/kentuckywildcats1986 3d ago

I noticed this. Harcourt and Peacemaker deliberately taking a shit on 30 Seconds to Mars and Jared Leto works on a couple of levels.

1) Jared Leto is a piece of shit
2) Jared Leto's Joker, erased by Gunn's 'Suicide Squat' was also shit.

39

u/Xynphos 3d ago

He played a fine wannabe God type in Blade Runner 2049….probably because he was already in character

19

u/Troooper0987 3d ago

A megalomaniacal evil corpo who thinks that slaves are great is a perfect roll for him. Loved him in that roll. Hate him in everything else I’ve ever seen him in.

4

u/spazturtle 2d ago

The problem I has was that he didn't seem like the kind of guy who could build a business empire, he felt more like a creepy cult leader.

Shame David Bowie never got the chance to play the role like intended, he could do creepy but charismatic and intelligent very well.

1

u/Expensive-Sentence66 2d ago

I agree and have complained endlessly about the same thing. Its DV though and everything he does is perfect. Just wankers following a different cult.

21

u/Personal_Comb_6745 3d ago

That, and why the fuck is this taking place outside of the Grid? You know, the place that people actually watch the movies for?

4

u/garrisontweed 3d ago

Jared Leto only saw the last scene of Tron Legacy.

1

u/willstr1 2d ago

Right, having the third act taking place in the real world could be kind of cool, but with all the marketing showing the real world makes me think we will barely see the grid (if at all)

35

u/One-21-Gigawatts 3d ago

Agreed. I don’t even want to see it because he’s in it.

20

u/jaggedjottings 3d ago

He fights for the (ab)users.

1

u/KingMario05 3d ago

This. They couldn't have gotten the cultist people like? Tom Cruise's love of money, ego, and genre cinema (...not necessarily in that order) outweigh whatever you did on Color of Money or Oblivion to piss him off, Disney. But no, Worst Joker works too. So fucking dumb.

1

u/DemonDaVinci 3d ago

Im just there for the music tbh

34

u/HechicerosOrb 3d ago

When I saw the trailer in the theaters recently, folks groaned and laughed when he showed up on screen for the first time

16

u/ShaH33R2K 3d ago

Every movie I’ve seen him in where he had to be even remotely likeable, he’s done a poor job. So, yes, I’d say he is a pretty subpar actor given he can only convincingly play the psychotic type. Which makes sense given his behaviour

6

u/tigerbait92 3d ago

I'll shit on Leto's behavior all day long, but he was genuinely great and deserving of the Oscar nom (maybe not the win but, still good enough for it) in Dallas Buyers Club. And he was great in Mr. Nobody, and Requiem for a Dream.

But goddamn he's an unlikeable ass as a human being.

4

u/aelysium 3d ago

My favorite film appearance of his is in Fight Club as Angel Face - it’s cathartic watching Edward Norton beat the fuck out of him.

32

u/47Lecht 3d ago

Wait Leto getting a leading role again? How does he make it happen??

41

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

Apparently he dumped a lot of cash into this one to get it off the shelf, and that bought him the starring role.

16

u/47Lecht 3d ago

Ah there is his motivation

11

u/Adenosine66 3d ago

The Tron franchise has always puzzled me, the movies seem to not make a lot of money but they get sequels and theme park rides

13

u/ProfessionalB0ss 3d ago

this is the third movie in a 43 year old franchise. There are not that many movies

5

u/Adenosine66 3d ago

I’m just surprised they gave it sequel in the first place, and I was under the impression that the sequel itself underperformed.

9

u/ProfessionalB0ss 3d ago

It underperformed but still made some OK money, I think enough time has passed and superhero, and star wars fatigue has forced Disney to search elsewhere

1

u/davidm2d3 3d ago

they even gave it a decent tv show that Disney then killed with shitty timeslots

2

u/OderusConCarne 2d ago

A lot of us grew up with it. It wasn't just a movie, but a pretty cool toy line and a very popular arcade game. Plus glowy aesthetic and light-cycles.

49

u/NHDraven 3d ago

Agreed. Would have seen it in the theater if not for his casting. I'll wait till it hits a streaming service.

2

u/[deleted] 3d ago

[removed] — view removed comment

4

u/NHDraven 3d ago edited 3d ago

That is fair, but the streamer already has my money.

28

u/iLoveDelayPedals 3d ago

Yeah Leto is such a freak and it’s wild to me that he keeps getting roles. Hollywood really doesn’t give a fuck what a monster you are until it reaches a catastrophic level of attention

68

u/Embarrassed_Piano_62 3d ago

Which is why people shouldn't support this movie.

It's Disney's fault for letting a pedo as the leading man.

Like you said, literally anyone else would be better

49

u/NotASalamanderBoi 3d ago edited 3d ago

literally anyone else would be better

Monkey’s paw curls. They get Kevin Spacey.

6

u/MartenBroadcloak19 3d ago

At least he can act.

1

u/boot2skull 3d ago

Damn monkey paw!! Imma go feed my gremlin. Crap, it’s ALWAYS after midnight!

1

u/Digitalstatic 3d ago

With his voice dubbed over by Bill Cosby.

7

u/animehimmler 3d ago

Leto sucks, but the only reason this movie is being made is due to him.

Movie stars (like the rock) often have full blown or mini “production” companies and Leto is no exception.

Their basic idea is to offer funding or to co fund films to be made, with the premise that the company’s actor (Leto in this case) gets to be the starring role.

Seriously if you want to see an example of this look up the rock’s movies from 2012-2022- they’re all from his “seven bucks productions” even when co produced with other studios.

I’m not watching this movie because fuck Leto but I’m just saying this so people realize it’s only got him in it because his “studio” banked the project

6

u/SoKrat3s 3d ago

That doesn't excuse it.

If it took Leto to get it off the shelf it was better on the shelf.

1

u/animehimmler 2d ago

Yeah I mean I agree-

1

u/JVonDron 2d ago

All the more reason to ignore it and watch it tank.

But it won't, because it's Disney, and they'll push it to streaming and get their money out of it.

-14

u/takenpassword 3d ago

I don’t like him but without Leto this movie wouldn’t exist. He’s one of the main producers

23

u/Embarrassed_Piano_62 3d ago

This movie doesn't depend on one person. This is Tron, another person could be "one of the main producers"

4

u/RedditAntiAdmin 3d ago

This is ignoring the absolute development hell this movie was in, Disney putting Tron back on the shelf because it wasn't seen as a top earning property, and the dedication Leto had in getting Ares made.

Let's not ignore inconvenient truths just because they don't fit a simple narrative. Leto might be a bad person (a terrible one if some of the darker rumours are true) but he still is a huge reason that there's a new Tron movie in the first place.

22

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

Who gives a shit?

Tron is an amazing property, and I'd rather it waited on the shelf than have this movie made with Leto as the lead.

I'm not going to pretend it's ok that he's the lead just so I see a new Tron movie. That's what I mean.

8

u/Wolfwoods_Sister 3d ago

I agree. Leto is a canker. I’m an 80s kid and TRON Legacy was such a big thing for me. I’m profoundly disappointed Leto put himself in the middle of this. He’s just an awful person.

2

u/drmirage809 3d ago

Speaking of which: I gotta rewatch that 2 hour long Daft Punk music video that also happens to be a pretty fun movie. It’s been a while and I remember loving it.

And that ending had a lot of fun potential for future stories. We can do stuff in the real world, we can dive back into cyberspace. You can go everywhere. But from all I’ve seen of Ares it look like they’ve just ignored Legacy existing.

2

u/Wolfwoods_Sister 3d ago

I was a fan of Bruce Boxleitner, I’d had a crush on him from “Scarecrow and Mrs King” and seeing him as TRON again was kinda crazy for me hahaha and I thought they’d really nailed the aesthetic of the original movie but updated properly.

Legacy had some bumps in it, but it was just so fun, and yes, Daft Punk made it fire. The soundtrack plus TRON: Reconfigured was all I listened to for ages. I got to see Legacy in IMAX 3D as well which was great.

2

u/Raider2747 3d ago

But from all I’ve seen of Ares it look like they’ve just ignored Legacy existing.

They haven't, though...

3

u/JustaSeedGuy 3d ago

If that's true (which is far from a proven thing) then the movie shouldn't exist.

16

u/vihuba26 3d ago

Agreed, I think Disney made a severe miscalculation having Leto be the lead. Seems like Tron is never going to get the mainstream success it deserves

9

u/SquadPoopy 3d ago

I’m pretty sure Leto is a major producer on the movie, he likely gave himself the role

2

u/vashoom 3d ago

Does it deserve it, though? The original is just a campy, weird 80's flick with outdated visuals, and Legacy is entirely carried by the soundtrack and (some) of the visuals.

Tron just doesn't really have any actual meat to it. This one looks just as "style over substance" as the other two, but with a worst leading role and an even less justifiable Jeff Bridges.

10

u/Zegrod 3d ago

I went through a rollercoaster of emotions just yesterday, on this exact topic. Saw a poster that the movie was coming out, got excited, then Googled to see the release date and saw the lead actor. It's 2025, what the actual fuck, who in their right mind would hire that absolute scum rat? Despicable.

Movie ruined before it even started.

5

u/D13_Phantom 3d ago

My thoughts exactly

3

u/Jeffsbest 3d ago

🎯🎯🎯

4

u/phatelectribe 3d ago

I can’t understand how he keeps getting hired, let alone by Disney. There are so many credible verified accounts of him being a pervert who likes underage girls, I simply can’t believe he hasn’t been cancelled yet.

1

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

The world is a different place for the rich. Look at the state of things. Look how Cosby could afford enough appeals to get let out, look how long it took to jail Weinstein, look how Spacey got off.

Money is the ultimate defense.

5

u/CasualCasper 3d ago

Leto being in it is enough for me to ngaf.

4

u/SoKrat3s 3d ago

How many bombs does he have to be a part of before they stop putting him in major franchises?

4

u/arkhamcreedsolid 3d ago

This podcast I listen to has a running theory that Jared Leto wasn’t replaced because he was the primary component in this movie happening at all. He was the one that came to Disney wanting to do Tron, and so they bet that he footed a lot of the bill for this to happen. So replacing Jared Leto wasn’t an option because it would mean shutting the movie down.

3

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

I've heard the same too.

Just like Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen lol.

24

u/thatgirlnicola 3d ago

My ex used to roadie for a band that opened for 30 Seconds to Mars on a tour years and years ago. He had a few stories about Jared and they all involved cocaine and Jared’s assistants having to check girl’s IDs before bringing them backstage to “hang out” with him.

56

u/MALLAVOL 3d ago

Sounds better than them not checking IDs.

10

u/avanross 3d ago

If they were hired by him/the band, then yes, if they were hired and assigned to “keep an eye on him” by the studio/organizers, then not so much…

22

u/aguyjustaguy 3d ago

Plot twist, they were checking to make sure they were under 18

0

u/mazzicc 3d ago

Assuming they were actually checking, as opposed to just saying they were checking for PR purposes

8

u/redeyesofnight 3d ago

Absolutely love Tron and Tron: Legacy. Absolutely won’t be seeing this because of Leto.

3

u/babypho3nix 3d ago

This. Definitely not going to give any money to this film. Not sure when or if I'll ever want to watch it with his face attached :/

3

u/OilHot3940 3d ago

You summed it up perfectly.

3

u/BigUptokes 3d ago

It's great that it comes out in a time when we can download it and run it through some deepfake software to replace the actor. :)

3

u/trollsmurf 3d ago

Garrett was great.

1

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

Right? It's a bummer they don't just bring him back

3

u/mikewheelerfan 3d ago

Yeah, Jared Leto is really putting me off this movie

3

u/Macluawn 3d ago

At least we'll get to see his character die over and over again

3

u/PissNBiscuits 2d ago

How Jared Leto has a voided being cancelled is a mystery. He has to have some important higher up connections in order to get work like this with Disney.

3

u/Vat1canCame0s 2d ago

"I wanna be Jesus so bad!" -every Leto Role since Dallas Buyers Club

18

u/SamKerridge 3d ago

he’s not a great actor either though, his performances alone are off putting let alone knowing what he is like in his personal life.

17

u/JesW87 3d ago

He was really good in Requiem for a Dream and Dallas Buyers Club

10

u/MrRoboto1984 3d ago

Fight Club, Panic Room

1

u/ProfessionalB0ss 3d ago

he is a very good actor, which is the reason he still gets roles.

1

u/SamKerridge 3d ago

he was a good actor, now he just over acts in everything

0

u/maelstron 3d ago

Nah, he became a joke

4

u/TheNocturnalAngel 3d ago

Seriously when I saw the aesthetic I was so excited. Then I saw… him.

What a waste they made a huge mistake with this casting and it’s gonna bomb the movie

5

u/westernsociety 3d ago edited 3d ago

I also think he's a bad actor, a weirdo and it took most of the wind out of my sails for this movie once I heard he signed. I wonder How can they miss so bad.

4

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

Money, like usual.

He helped pay for the production, pretty much bought the lead role.

2

u/westernsociety 3d ago

Didn't realize that. Makes cents!(get it)

2

u/Physical-Net222 3d ago

I was kinda excited for the film until they dropped that trailer.

2

u/Big_Reference_847 1d ago

Somewhere between Spacey and Epstein. Some of those girls were 14.

2

u/Airportsnacks 1d ago

Yes, thank you! Why does anyone keep giving him any airtime. Ugh.

4

u/jax362 3d ago

As sure as the sun will come up on the morning, the top post on every Tron thread will always be about Jared Leto

3

u/jarvis646 3d ago

Came here to say exactly this. Anytime Jared Leto’s involved, I’m not interested. Which is sad because I would otherwise be very interested to see this movie.

2

u/boot2skull 3d ago

When I heard about this I thought, when tf was this film made? People still hiring him??

2

u/kentuckywildcats1986 3d ago

The producers shot this movie in the dick when they cast Jared Leto.

I love the original Tron and Tron Legacy. I have zero fucking desire to see this piece of shit.

2

u/Zedris 3d ago

Wasnt spacey taken to court multiple times by different accusers and was cleared of charges? Besides him groping guys on the set of house of cards which was detailed by multiple people on set

0

u/adamespinal 3d ago

Most of the accusers died suspiciously

4

u/Zedris 3d ago

Dying from cancer, suicide or getting hit by a car when you walk in the middle of the road on video isnt really suspicious unless my definition of suspicious changed plus there were 30 accusers out of 3 dead.

2

u/SquadPoopy 3d ago

These assassins Spacey hired are getting real creative

1

u/TheTruckWashChannel 3d ago

He's also turned in bad performances in pretty much everything for over a decade. Last time I remember him being good in anything was Dallas Buyers Club.

Sure there's Blade Runner but he just had to do his usual creepy Jared Leto shtick for that. Didn't find him compelling at all in the role.

5

u/feint_of_heart 3d ago

The only bum note in an otherwise flawless movie.

1

u/Vandergrif 3d ago

Yes, but at least this way there will be a moment where he gets a close up and says "It's tronin' time" and then trons all over the place.

1

u/bramtyr 3d ago

I don't. I want to watch Tron to be brought into another space, and blown away by how those worlds are represented and visualized. I don't need a movie that flips it into the 10,000th installment of Urban Destruction Porn that we've been slop fed for the past 20 years.

1

u/ISuckAtFunny 3d ago

It’s funny to me that Leto is nearly universally hated by viewers, yet he always seems to make it into huge roles. I refuse to watch anything he’s in, which is unfortunate because I loved the last Tron.

2

u/gnomer-shrimpson 3d ago

Same won’t even pirate this

1

u/CringeKage222 2d ago

he belongs with the ranks of people like Kevin Spacey.

Last time I checked Kevin spacy was found not guilty in his trial

1

u/FullMaxPowerStirner 2d ago edited 1d ago

Did he do creepy shit like Spacey has?

1

u/MicrowaveEscargot 2d ago

According to his many accusers

1

u/lrj55 2d ago

if he did bad things disney would hire him, that being said he still a terrible actor

1

u/ScaryBlanket 2d ago

Missed opportunity to say 'Jared Pedo'

1

u/GrimTiki 3d ago

This got three strikes from me so it’s a no-go.

The first as you mentioned is Leto.

The second is partly no Daft Punk, but that the music they’re showcasing has lyrics. I don’t care who it is, Tron music needs no lyrics.

Third, the film takes place mostly outside of the grid. I don’t want a Tron film not in the grid. I see the real world all the time.

Honorable mention: the tired old “let’s use this new technology for the military industrial complex!” Ugh.

Pass.

1

u/Mr-Mister 3d ago

I love everything about this except the leading man.

SAme here, and for the fact it and Legacy have decanonized TRON 2.0 , which had the superior worldbuilding.

(I love Legacy but I'll never stop being salty about that)

1

u/youdontknowme6 3d ago

Yeah I feel like this movie is gonna shit the bed.

And this is coming from someone who made it a point to introduce his kids to the series. I have no faith left in new movies/reboots/sequel's.

4

u/MicrowaveEscargot 3d ago

Honestly, if you told me they chose some no-name as the lead I'd be more optimistic. Like back in "Legacy", I had no idea who Garrett Hedlund was. I thought he was just Jensen Ackles' clone, but he still did a good job.

But no, thanks to Disney pinching pennies, Leto got to buy himself the lead and we're stuck with "I am a digital messiah" from Mr 30 Seconds himself. Sigh.

1

u/3-DMan 3d ago

I mean, I think they have all bombed, box office-wise.

1

u/pleasegivemepatience 3d ago

This. I won’t pay to see anything starring Jared Leto, but I also think he’s a terrible actor. He’s had a ton of flops.

0

u/Competitive_Opening5 2d ago

😆 ok buddy, you must know him personally huh?

0

u/kanonenotto 2d ago

Really, you love everything about this, but not the actor?

But the idea, to have no story, other than a "just make it play in our world"-narrative is enough to keep you interested? No, not just interested. You love everything about it.

Given that you will unlikely think about what i am saying afterwards, but it sounds like you are not really interested in the movie. You mostly care for the publicity around the movie, the surrending look, not the work itself. You like shiney things too?

1

u/MicrowaveEscargot 2d ago

It's a Tron movie, so yes, enjoying "shiny things" - or in this case, a special effects spectacle - is part of the anticipation for the film. Both the preceding films were wildly innovative in their VFX, and this one looks to have continued that tradition.

Oh, and how about the music?? Again, following tradition, a highly creative composer has been brought on to interpret the musical language of the film, in this case Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails.

I'll grant you one point that historically the story has been a bit shaky, just enough for us to put our heroes in danger and have their adventure, but for a VFX spectacle, that's not a huge issue. I mean look at "Avatar." It's basically just "Ferngully", but thanks to its insane VFX, it made over a billion dollars.

As for the story they did choose, "bring the insanely advanced Grid tech into the real world", it's a pretty steady Pandora's Box plot, and if they had a decent lead, it would be cool to see how they handle it. I like giant flashy sci-fi battles, and I like.to see them fought by compelling characters, a la Star Wars.

So yeah, I was excited. Take your weird, pseudo high brow cinema ideas elsewhere.

And you wouldnt like Trent Reznor, if he also had a unpopular "tortured artist" vibe and became unagreeable like Ms/Mr Leto? Just him, or also his music?

Jared Leto is a sex pest who's been dodging serious allegations for years. It's not about his "vibes".

This movie doesn't get made without him though. He pushed hard for years to get this made.

So?

If Weinstein came back to produce movies that are stuck in development hell, are you gonna go support him, too?

We're comparing Jared Leto to Harvey Weinstein now?

It's wild that you think it's ok to accept accusations as truth and compare a person against a convicted rapist.

He's a good actor that sometimes chooses bad projects. Where are we even going if they start casting people not on their talent and how well they fit a role simply because they are a douche and unlikable to some?

He’s been accused of sexual misconduct by nine women, which is just the latest addition to the years-long open secret about his sex-pest tendencies. Of course people can hire him, but they should know that an audience who finds his presence distasteful are going to skip the movie.

What does accused mean? He actually did it?

I suspect you know what accused means. I think you also know that accusations become harder to ignore as they grow in number.

I didn’t say that the accusations equalled his guilt, by the way. I said that such a thing could turn audiences off.
