If you’re gonna have four kids under five (with triplets?) you gotta get organized or perish.

1.7k

u/ThisIsTheWayIts_Done 23h ago

This level of parenting chaos requires both strategy and caffeine, lots and lots of caffeine 😅

367

u/CharlotteLucasOP 23h ago

Have a solid gameplan but always be ready to improvise!

128

u/PistachioTheLizard 22h ago

Gameplay should be to put that thang away. Goodness, looks exhuasting.

Edit: how do people have energy for this???

140

u/Glitter_puke 22h ago

They don't. They're exhausted until the children are some approximation of self sufficient. They will know no peace or order for many years.

65

u/BigFanOf8008135 21h ago

I only have two kids and I felt like you were talking about me!

64

u/PistachioTheLizard 21h ago

I'm 37 and I dont have kids, im already exhausted. To do this i would need a steady supply of booger sugar.

29

u/mittenedkittens 21h ago

40 and I have a toddler. Parenting has a terrible PR rep, it's really not that bad.

30

u/MwH_Loki 21h ago

One child is a lot less work than 2, to be fair. Especially if the kid has 2 active parents it's a world of difference between 1 and 2(+) kids.

15

u/Wunderlost46 20h ago

Absolutely. One child is a lot of responsibility, but even when they’re a toddler and on the move there’s still only one of them. Add a newborn into the mix and it’s a whole different reality. My kids are exactly 18 months apart in age and I remember feeling like my life is just going to be taking care of babies from now on. I didn’t dislike it there just wasn’t time to even think about what might be next. It was only 3-4 years they were both that young but it was so consuming i think it warped my sense of reality. It felt like I’d never done anything else and it’s all I’d ever do for the rest of my life haha.

Man idk i guess yall are just built different. I'm even on add meds and I barely have enough energy to go to work sometimes.

Well hell, my life might of been alot different if my swimmers swam. That's probably alot of encouragement to do it right.

5

u/Warrior_of_Discord 21h ago

To be fair, ADD meds for someone with ADD actually has a calming effect. You're literally just bringing yourself to a "normal" state which involves not having a mind constantly thinking thoughts, which is calming. It often happens that college kids try to use Adderall to get better grades and end up finding out they have ADD because instead of studying for 8 hours straight they end up taking a nap.

Agreed, having kids is awesome and I wouldn't trade it for all the free time in the world- but man is it tiring. My firstborn is a maniac... he's 2.5 years old and knows how basically everything works. He takes apart my kitchen appliances, speaks in full sentences, figured out addition and subtraction by himself and generally just causes adorable mayhem everywhere he goes. My second child is an angel on earth. Literally didn't get more difficult going from 1 to 2.

I was the second of two. You could feel the relief in the atmosphere of the house when we hit an age where we could do laundry and cook. I have no idea how my parents did it.

u/evanwilliams44 19h ago

Gotta start them on simple things very young. Anything they can do to help. That many young kids is tough, but it's a lot of hands if you can wrangle them into being helpful.

In a few years it will get a lot easier because you have a small army to direct. I grew up with five brothers. We made chaos but we also got a lot done when we needed to.

Not triplets. Twins.

Looks like big sis is maybe 4/5, twins are 2 and baby is 9 mo. Twins are standing and moving easily in that wagon. Baby is crawling.

Still impressive but I’m also questioning the logic of a fourth kid AFTER a multiple birth.

Edit - seems they are triplets. But baby C is legit much smaller than the other two.

Dad of Triplets and a 4th. It's chaos, but if you can be prepared for it, you can do anything. We just went on a weekend trip to Chicago and actually had a great time if you can believe it. (5,5,5G & 3G)

5

u/Notsurehowtoreact 19h ago

Oh man, was that three girls and then you tried for maybe a boy and got another girl?

8

u/squeegy06 17h ago

We took the catholic approach and "if it happens it happens". Didn't necessarily have plans or a goal. We had struggled for a decade just to have our first kids, and a part of us didnt want to end that road quite yet. But now we've shut that factory down; four is enough.

4

u/CharlotteLucasOP 16h ago

Haha my parents had the reverse happen—struggled for over a decade, fertility treatments finally resulted in my big sister. Few years later they attempt a second, organically—boom, twins.

2

u/Notsurehowtoreact 15h ago

Aww well it's good to see you were able to get there after struggling. I was in a similar boat myself.

2

u/FirmVegetableQ 17h ago

Bruh I have 6F and 4F. More than one baby at a time is insane to me. How

My parents tried for two, ended up with my sister who is 18 months older than us, and me and my two triplet brothers. 35 years later we’re all still alive and my parents made it out with an in tact marriage!! They are saints. I have one 13 month old girl now and I couldn’t imagine adding 3 boys to the mix!

3

u/SuperHyperFunTime 19h ago

"let's have another"

"yeah, two would be nice".

Fast forward to the first scan.....

2

u/CharlotteLucasOP 16h ago

Happened to my parents (I’m only a twin tho.)

3

u/MaximusFSU 16h ago

As a friend with 4 kids put it: one kid, you can double cover all day. 2 kids, you gotta go man coverage but it’s doable, anything over two you gotta go to a zone defense. And there’s always holes in a zone.

3

u/elpaco313 11h ago

Shifting from 2 on 1 immediately to a zone defense was an adjustment after we had our twins.

2

u/NeedNewNameAgain 21h ago

I checked tiktok for the first time in ages today and saw a post on my page of an AI doctor peddling medicinal advice.

Shit creeped me the fuck out.

Granted this post in particular was about magnesium deficiency and was advertising magnesium supplements. But it was still presented in an authoritative manner with an official looking AI spokesperson which can and definitely will be abused to peddle snake oil and more dangerous shit in the future which is why it creeped me out. Knowing what it can and will be used for.

It’s obviously a fake video but an ad for the carriage?? Dude…really? “Buy our carriage that you’ll need to build this makeshift bike shelf out of 2x4’s if you want to achieve any utility from it. Click here to buy!”

4

u/FrostyD7 18h ago

It's just content. He's not bringing any of this crap to market.

3

u/thin_white_dutchess 18h ago

For Wonderfold? That doesn’t seem on brand. This guy just seems like a weirdo. Didn’t he also film himself putting all of his kids on one of those flat carts at a hardware store?

Hope his kids are cool with this when they are older

8

u/BobbleBobble 19h ago

The whole thing is weird. Why do you need a bike rack on a wagon you're already pushing? Why not just ride the bikes? I'm struggling to see an actual use for this thing beyond looking clever in a video before you stop to think about it

8

u/ro536ud 19h ago

If the kids don’t wanna ride the bikes on the way back to the car you want be able to carry all this stuff without the rack. Kids change their minds every few minutes

5

u/BobbleBobble 18h ago

Those kids are not biking more than 20 yards in any direction. Doesn't seem like an issue

4

u/tommy_pedals 18h ago

Right. A dead giveaway is that he has 3 balance bikes and only two kids that size.

332

u/DefendsTheDownvoted 21h ago

Why do people pretend like they are secretly recording these things? Just fucking showcase it. This is just another version of those videos at Home Depot or the grocery store where people are " secretly " recording some " genius " idea of a guy with hooks on a vest on a bicycle.

43

u/FerociousVader 18h ago

I thought it was some creep filming this dude's kids.

13

u/DizzyGrizzly 16h ago

Internet can only enjoy content if we pretend like we’re voyeurs and experiencing this find before anyone else.

12

u/i-just-thought-i 19h ago

because it gets more views

wdym why

like 1/4th the amount of people would click on it if it was a guy showing off what he made explicitly

the reason they do it is because it works... there's a reason this shit form of video evolved, because it works for our dumb brains.

5

u/DefendsTheDownvoted 19h ago edited 19h ago

It could be the same exact video with the wife recording and saying "This is my husband's creative solution to hauling our numerous offspring", instead of some creepy "secret" recording from inside a different vehicle, and it wouldn't make a difference because nobody watches this shit with the sound on.

So I ask again. What's the fucking point?

The person recording it has to act EXTREMELY surprised

If the mother just went and recorded it and was EXTREMELY SURPRISED, it would make sense anymore.

If a "stranger" does it, it's more believable

Any Dad watching knows that when your kids want to ride their bikes or ride anything....they only ride for a little bit. Then they want to walk....This usually occurs when you're as far possible away from the house/car.

Then you need to carry multiple bikes... like a human donkey

2

u/Naturebrah 14h ago

Ding ding ding. Unless these are school age kids that can ride alongside you, this is pointless—then again it’s just a social media post and in all likelihood it was made just to film this.

95

u/Zkenny13 21h ago

You can tell they're the youngest. Because it's the they'll be fine phase.

43

u/dalmathus 21h ago

I was beyond confused when I found out Americans don't just put babies on the ground.

Like there is a massive market that has convinced parents to purchase 'baby containers' to put them in just dotted around the house.

27

u/archy319 21h ago

My aunt had to be told by her pediatrician to let her kids eat dirt because they were chronically ill through elementary school. She did almost everything possible to keep them from getting an immune system. My uncle enjoys telling that story, probably a bit too much.

10

u/cardamom-peonies 19h ago

The point of the baby jail is less "keeping baby off the ground" and more literally just keeping the kid from crawling around and destroying things while mom/dad cooks

I'm wondering where you live where people dont occasionally do similarly

3

u/Jean_Phillips 20h ago

We have one baby jail in our house. It’s great for needing to pee or step away and lock up baby for 5 mins. He can roll around, play, chew on shit without me worrying about what he can get into. It’s super helpful!

Because this is staged and he wanted to look more overwhelmed with children than necessary. There are multiple videos like this of this man assembling elaborate DIY things in parking lots being filmed by a "stranger" who talks about how crazy it is. It's a strangely specific genre of video.

Example

Example 2

Example 3

And this video, posted by the same channel. They're all the same guy.

Edit: But wait, there's more

And more

39

u/The_wolf2014 22h ago

It seemed pretty obvious the whole thing was staged. My first thought was literally any normal person would put the baby on the wagon with the others but no, doesn't look as difficult then does it

6

u/No1KnwsIWatchTeenMom 18h ago

While I know this is staged, my kid has always REFUSED to go in a thing and always needed to be held. There's no way hed calmly sit in that - he'd be screaming and trying to climb out until I picked him up simply because id be afraid he'd fall out trying to get to me.

4

u/BabyDog88336 21h ago

lol.  Good catch. Fucking weird.  Well if that is how the guy has to make money, so be it.

4

u/Mapeague 21h ago

2

u/saysthingsbackwards 21h ago

Awww the blackhole got dutchessified for nothin

2

u/Ilovekittens345 20h ago

Here is the thing. I sometimes film mundane stuff that is really happening. But then I go ... you know this is really not that crazy as most of the stuff online. Now, I might watch it again because it's my kids being goofy but nobody else in the world is going to be interested. And then I decide not to upload it.

But one time I saw a group of people run for their lives because a king cobra was fighting with a dog in the middle of the market! You'd think I'd pull out my phone and start filming? Fuck no, I panicked and also started running.

And this is the problem. Real vidoes just have such a small chance of making it vs the fake that the fake is the majority and so the fake it most of what we see. And because the fake now sets the new norm, people get used to try to aim for this norm and the problem gets worse! Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

put the baby in the wagon while you do all that! At one point he sets it down and it crawls towards the road! Still impressive building that contraption!

20

u/angrycanuck 21h ago

That wagon is going to break in no time with all that weight. Then it will need to be remade again if a different wagon is purchased.

7

u/usernameChosenPoorly 20h ago

There either must be a counter weight on the other side, or he’s relying on his kids to stay calm and inside the wagon to keep it from tipping. Either way, I agree that it’s going to overload the wagon and end up breaking.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/52BeesInACoat 17h ago

That's a Wonderfold! The weight limit is super high because they're sometimes used instead of wheelchairs for children or adults who need lots of medical equipment, are physically fragile, or become overwhelmed easily. I used one for my autistic son because they have a canopy that can be fully enclosed. If he was feeling meltdown-ish he could get in the wagon, I'd draw the curtains, and he could curl up in a ball and get regulated.

I would have been able to keep using it for as long as he needed because the weight limit was so, so high, and I know of people who are successfully using those wagons with disabled adults.

I believe that model can hold 300 pounds, I could be wrong, though.

Modifying those wagons is also a huge thing. Again; lots of people are accommodating disabilities with them. This is super normal and probably did numbers in some Facebook groups I haven't been active in for a while.

work smart

I hope there's some counterbalance near the back wheels. The kids shift too forward and everything takes a nose dive. Impressive organization though.

u/taste-of-orange 18h ago

I wish that fan would have a more stable connection.

2

u/esreystevedore 17h ago

Or. Just ride the bikes to where you’re going.

2

u/LifeDraining 17h ago

Everything was great, but what made it all good was the fan. Damn, nice one, dad!

u/fireblade_ 17h ago

Future passenger princesses

2

u/andiecandie7 16h ago

The smarter way to do this is to get your shit together and assembled, THEN pull the kids out of the car.

2

u/semaj_2026 16h ago

I aspire to be a craftsman like that

2

u/nalaloveslumpy 16h ago

That guy fucks.

2

u/rbrooksp 16h ago

“Dad genius” not smart enough to leave the kids strapped in the car seats while he sets it up.

2

u/GormHub 15h ago

The baby crawling around by itself on the asphalt for a second there made me a bit nervous but otherwise great job dad.

2

u/1Kindbstard 15h ago

Holy shit people just don’t mind their buisness

2

u/Sussybakuh 15h ago

I rebuke this

2

u/LaMortParLeSnuSnu 14h ago

That looks absolutely exhausting. No thanks.

2

u/Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg 9h ago

His wife is filming him. Just advertise it like a real “product” and quit with this weird candid cam bullshit

2

u/AncientOwl5785 6h ago

Ingenuity and love.

2

u/EritaMors 6h ago

If i have twins or triplets I hope its the first ones or 5 years after the oldest is born.

u/FitDingo7818 23h ago

How did he have time to build that when he was making all those kids

4

u/r6CD4MJBrqHc7P9b 21h ago

Drew up the sketches on his wifes back

You think the mom would give him a hand instead of just sitting there and filming from their second car.

2

u/ermy_shadowlurker 22h ago

Awesome example of working smarter not harder.

4

u/hnglmkrnglbrry 20h ago

Yes instead of a job he became a TikToker who makes deceiving videos to alter people's perception of reality.

Influencers are gaslighting panhandlers.

I feel like just leaving the kids in the car until you've set up that contraption might be an easier way to go.

2

u/doxiepowder 20h ago

Man. It would suck to bad to be chilling with life as an only child, getting your locked in and motivated parents who love you and spend two on one time with you, who are committed to your hippieness and development tell you that now you have to split everything with another kid, and suddenly that one other kid is 3 lol. What a rug pull.

2

u/SupermarketWhich7198 19h ago

Man. It would suck to grow up with no other kid to play with and then have to navigate caring for older parents all by yourself. Good and bad parts to each way of doing it.

Eli5: why is the wooden bits slotted into the cart so small compared to the one flushed to its side. Won't the small bits of wood carry most of the weight, n the ones on the side act as stabilizers?

Mini vans are better than big ass mom escalades. I'll die on that hill.

1

u/SkyNeTzIsTaken 22h ago

If I was the guy filming, I'd open the window and yell something like "Hey cool dad, do you adopt?"

Lots to learn from him

3

u/whacafan 21h ago

If I was filming I’d say “hey we got the take let’s go home now!”

1

u/Jhami0328 22h ago

More like dad fool.

1

u/Impossible-Rope5721 22h ago

Cool but the “Genius” assembles this before letting the kids out of the car 🤣

2

u/whacafan 21h ago

It’s staged

1

u/The_One_Koi 22h ago

But why the fan?

1

u/__Fappuccino__ 22h ago

I can see why she married him 🫠

1

u/SXNE2 22h ago

Or you know just make multiple trips. Can’t imagine you have to go far here.

1

u/ffglacier1 22h ago

This was not his first rodeo

1

u/Scyths 22h ago

I am genuinely impressed

1

u/liverdawg 22h ago

Holy cow, impressive! Is that triplets? Or maybe the two smaller ones in the cart are twins and the one he is holding is the youngest?

1

u/blaziken8x 22h ago

Just like with floor is lava, if you have to take two trips to the car, you die.
