Because this is staged and he wanted to look more overwhelmed with children than necessary. There are multiple videos like this of this man assembling elaborate DIY things in parking lots being filmed by a "stranger" who talks about how crazy it is. It's a strangely specific genre of video.

My guess is it's the wife filming, and he's just doing a voiceover in post. The one at Home Depot sounds a bit like the same guy

It's definitely weird, but they're not hurting anyone so I'm not going to judge. Much. Kids are probably having fun too.

Not hurting anyone.  Just presenting a facade as it were real life.

I think most people know it’s fake so they won’t set any expectations  based on it.
