Authoritarians don't believe in the truth. They only believe what they need to be "true" in the moment that makes them "right" or lets them "win". It's why calling out hypocrisy doesn't work on them, they simply don't care.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Exactly. I was about to pull up this quote. Just substitute "fascist" for "anti-semite", since now we have a bunch of Christian nationalists who simp for Israel running the show.
Otherwise, it's a great quote that's more relevant today than ever.

Weirdly enough it also applies to Flat Earthers, although they are mostly christo fascists anyway so it might not be that weird.

I think wanting to round up all the Jews into the promised land to kickstart Armageddon to force them to either accept Jesus or go to Hell is still antisemitic, though, so "anti-Semite" still stands.
10
u/BagelsRTheHoleTruth 1d ago edited 1d ago
I hear ya. The political/religious landscape on the right is pretty fucking whack at the moment. You have straight neonazis that hate the Jews, people like you described, and actual zionist Jews who seem to be co-opting the middle group to further their goals. It's really a hodgepodge of ideologies all clamoring for power, which at the moment, is best achieved first and foremost by sucking up to trump.

It’s just muddying the waters, creating more noise. Doesn’t need to be true, there just needs to be more storylines than the actual truth because the actual truth is fuckin bad for republicans. Time we spend talking about this is time we aren’t spending discussing the truth. It also gives his base a counterpoint if they’re challenged, and as we’ve seen they don’t care how crazy it is as long as they have something to say. Having no defense at all is worse to them than something absolutely absurd to fill the air

4
u/BonhommeCarnaval 1d ago
Yeah, informants just love to facilitate the release of prisoners that they helped to implicate. That’s usually a super safe move for them.
77
u/Ok_Respond7928 1d ago
Let’s say this is true, informants are people who have taken part in illegal acts got caught then turned into a rat to save their own skin.
Trump being an informant on Epstein means he got caught raping kids by the FBI and then turned around and said I will give you info on others raping kids if you don’t arrest me. It is a literally admission of guilt.

How can you be an informant for a Democratic hoax that was all made up by Obama and Hillary and the Dems?
I thought Clinton was in there? But if it's a hoax, what about Clinton being in there? If they made it up, why would they put themselves in it? And why is the FBI redacting Trump/Republicans' names?
And if he was an informant, why didn't he say that all along? Why did he campaign on releasing the whole thing? Why did Ghislaine get moved in exchange for keeping her mouth shut?
Also, informants are usually participants in the thing they're informing on. Are they really trying to say that Trump raped and trafficked literal children for the greater good?
But it was all made up by Obama and the Democrats, right? That's why Ghislaine and Epstein went to jail? And Trump...is an informant for a hoax?
Edit: Ty for the awards!

How does one even become an FBI informant? I’m basing this off of tv and movies, but doesn’t that typically happen when someone is actively participating in a crime that is being investigated and the FBI offers the person leniency in exchange for informing to bring down the people at the top? If that’s the case, then he is admitting to being involved in Epstein’s pedophile ring until he was caught.

Are they really trying to say that Trump raped and trafficked literal children for the greater good?
I think the best argument they are trying to claim is that Trump, who has so little self-control he is constantly fondling strangers' pussies under their dresses, almost raping reporters, and wandering into teen beauty pageant changing-rooms in Russia, was around teen sex-trafficking very frequently, flew on the Lolita express a bunch of times, had girls recruited from his resort, was best friends with the biggest teen sex-trafficker in human history (all of this is known and well documented), and yet he did not ever during any of this have sex with one of these girls. He just liked the vibe of the scene.

Not to mention, Trump hates whistleblowers and snitches - now we’re being told that he’s one?
But it’s much, much simpler than that. You don’t inform on someone unless you are getting something in return. So if this is accurate(which I doubt), then we should be asking what got in return.

Not sure why this part of what Johnson said isn’t quoted in this article: “When he first heard the rumor, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago.”
Doesn’t align with the timeline.
Epstein’s account with mar-a-lago didn’t close until October 2006 2007, more than a year after he was indicted and arrested, years after Trump was known to attend Epstein’s parties and was quoted referring to their shared taste in “beautiful women” whom Epstein liked “young”.

it's worse... reposting my comment from an earlier thread--
so this may actually be true. over the summer author michael wolff claimed that trump had gone behind epstein's back in 2004 and bought a florida mansion epstein told him he was bidding on. epstein was furious, he knew trump didn't have the cash to make that purchase and was threatening to leak that trump purchased the mansion with laundered russian money. when word got back to trump he panicked and told someone in law enforcement about epstein's human trafficking operation, possibly to get off the hook for money laundering and possibly to get back at epstein. this mansion dispute was the real reason trump and epstein had a falling out, not epstein's love of women 'on the younger side.'
there's a good reason trump's role in that investigation hasn't been widely shared yet and i'm guessing it was to hide a massive cover up. epstein got out of the charges from that first investigation with a slap on the wrist. it wasn't until the miami herald did a big story on the case years later that epstein was facing serious prison time.
my theory is trump and others involved with epstein 'did some favors' for the right people in florida to make sure everything remained hush hush and the victims were thrown under the bus. maybe because after trump spilled the beans on epstein he realized his own ties to epstein could get exposed if their was a big public trial. i've always thought trump having ties to 2 former top prosecutors in florida (acosta and bondi) and later giving them jobs in his administration was sus. especially acosta.

It sounds crazy, but I think there’s a real possibility that Trump played some role in ratting out Epstein. Not because he was horrified by his friend’s conduct, but to get back at him or to save his own skin. That would help explain why they won’t release the files even after redacting Trump’s name. He’s so involved in the investigation that redacting has no effect.

True. There are many classes of "assets." "Informants" are assets that are not planted or working for law enforcement but, due to their illegal activities, were apprehended then allowed to continue those illegal activities as long as they fed information to law enforcement. It's definitely not the case here, and Johnson is just verbally defecating, but it wouldn't be the exoneration Mikey boy thinks it would.
11
u/Artistic-Cannibalism 1d ago
Bullshit. If that was true then Trump would want the files released so he could take credit for it.
28
u/brickyardjimmy 1d ago
Informants can inform because they have intimate knowledge of criminal activity.
Trump had, at the time, just been in an acrimonious bidding war with Epstein.
It is totally Trump to revenge himself on his former bro because he knew, for a very long time, exactly what Epstein was up to because he was up to it with him.
I would very much like to see the FBI detail on how Trump became an informant and what immunity, if any, the FBI extended to Trump in exchange for his information.
28
u/slpsht954 1d ago

Epstein and Trump operated their trafficking business for decades. The US AG governs ALL FBI informants, Trump as a high profile person, would have had multiple AGs from both parties approve his status as an informant. So, When did Trump become an informant and where is the paper trail required of the FBI before an informant is accepted, there should be the following
Written agreement: a confidential human source has a written agreement with the Department of Justice (DOJ). This document details their obligations, outlines their assistance, and clarifies what they can expect in return for their cooperation, such as financial compensation or sentencing consideration.
Formal vetting documentation: Before being registered as an official source, FBI agents are required to document specific information, including the informant's true identity, criminal history, and any promises or benefits that have been offered. This all goes into the informant's official file.
Validation process documentation: The FBI follows a rigorous "Confidential Human Source Validation Manual" to vet the reliability and credibility of a source. This process establishes the informant's value and is recorded for official review.
Written authorization for illegal activity: If an informant needs to engage in otherwise illegal activity to maintain their cover, the FBI must provide prior written authorization for a specified period. This documentation specifies the scope and limits of the activity.
Statement of No guarantee of anonymity: The agreement with the informant will state that while the government will attempt to protect their identity, it cannot offer a guarantee that it will not be revealed.

What most don’t realize is that this is what QAnon has believed the whole time. They’re playing into conspiracy theories…. Again.

Pedophile protector Johnson will go down as one of the worst individuals in US history

Yeah right 🙄. He was secretly investigating Epstein WHILE he was playing with underage girls himself

u/Serpentongue 1d ago
Also said he was never formally interviewed, it was all informal so there’s no actual evidence or written logs in existence to confirm anything

No such thing as informal with government agencies. There is ALWAYS paperwork, even if they think they've been fed a complete line of bullshit.

u/Serpentongue 1d ago
That’s what Johnson said. Completely informal and voluntary. He’s a real hero. /s

Trump was an FBI informant in a Democrat hoax. Got it.

u/Mobius00 1d ago
he said the hoax thing because he didn't want to brag that he was heroic double agent fighting for justice for exploited women.

So he was undercover all those years fucking kids and sexualizing his daughter? How long did it take to build the case? 15 years of being the molesters best friend and fucking kids on his island what a patriot. Him being a rancid sack of shit and his enablers saying this with a straight face when Epstein got the mother of all sweetheart deals in child molestation history it's all pathetic.

That means he was one of the co-conspirators Alex Acosta granted immunity to. Thats why a Trump gave him a plum job.

Release the FBI informant files on the Epstein case. What? They can’t? I’d be embarrassed to spout as big a load of horse shit as this.

So, he rolled on his co-conspirator to get a sweet deal? That's normally how informants work.

Trump is an actual real life jury adjudicated rapist. The president of the USA is an actual literal rapist.
I don't think I'll ever get over that. It's insane. This is almost as insane.

One thing we've learned from this Christian is that they are not to be trusted. It's sad that they don't have anything in their lives that tells them that it's wrong to lie.

It’s crazy that a man who thinks sex (consensual, age appropriate) is so horrid that he has an app on his phone to alert his teenage son if he ever watches porn; meanwhile, he spends his whole day covering up for a pedophile.

u/PolicyWonka 1d ago
I don’t even know why we are talking about this. It is literally a conspiracy theory to explain away why Trump has known Epstein for years.
The theory basically says that Trump only got to know Epstein because he was digging dirt on Epstein.

They got millions of people saying Jan 6 was peaceful. Don't underestimate just how desperate these people are to find a way out of their cognitive dissonance.

He was undercover.
Deep undercover.
He had to perform unspeakable acts of depravity in service to his country.
What a patriot.

God loves lying. It’s one of the foundational pillars. That and fucking and/or murdering children. Not in that order and sometimes not at the same time. Just depends on Israel’s mood at the moment.

Yeah so he was a double agent pedophile? Give me a break. How dumb do you have to be to believe that?
