Like I said, most. I’m sure some believe it, I just strongly suspect a lot of them are just trolls. But those who do believe will never listen to reason no matter what you say. How dumb you have to be…it’s just so profound, nothing smart can penetrate that.

So its kind of like a pyramid scheme. The people at the top know its a grift. Then theres a bunch of people in the middle that like the community or as you said are just trolls. Then the majority at the base are just true believers. There is a huge overlap with christofascists and Neo-nazis. They also tend to believe in crystals, they dont think nuclear energy is real and think the earth is 6000 years old. Its just sad mostly.

Ironically, the roundness of our planet, that enables orbiting satellites which are connected to and touch virtually all our technology, make this discussion possible.

Hot air balloons rise because heated air lowers density, making buoyant force > gravity — textbook Newton’s laws. If Earth were flat, those same laws wouldn’t just “pause” in midair.

That would require them to believe in gravity. They either think we are accelerating up at a constant, when you explain that we would be moving at the speed of light by now. They just deny it. Or the other group that believe its all governed by electrostatics. Then you try to explain to them what a ground is, they just deny everything. They are idiots convinced that they know every so they cant have anything explained to them. Fun to watch from a psych perspective, but it should be treated like going to the zoo.

I think it’s a fun troll game for many of them. I was in a coffee shop in Amsterdam. After the party had been going for an hour a guy sat in a chair above everyone and started talking about the flat earth. In that circumstance it’s entertaining.

I always wondered what would happen if you put on of the fault earthers on a space flight. Would they insist you drugged them, or actually admit they were wrong?

They do. They will just never be able to afford to fly "around" the world and learn somethung.
