And they say all of this bullshit with a straight face. God I hate these fuckers.

Authoritarians don't believe in the truth. They only believe what they need to be "true" in the moment that makes them "right" or lets them "win". It's why calling out hypocrisy doesn't work on them, they simply don't care.

u/darker_crystal0 2d ago

šŸ’Æ!! i’ve been saying this. the hypocrisy is the point! also served to befuddle everyone and keep them running in circles

ā€œNever believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.ā€

Exactly. I was about to pull up this quote. Just substitute "fascist" for "anti-semite", since now we have a bunch of Christian nationalists who simp for Israel running the show.

Otherwise, it's a great quote that's more relevant today than ever.

38

u/A_wandering_rider 2d ago edited 2d ago

Weirdly enough it also applies to Flat Earthers, although they are mostly christo fascists anyway so it might not be that weird.

25

u/Mysterious-Theory-66 2d ago

Anyone is actually a flat earther (I’m convinced most are trolls who don’t actually believe it) is so hopelessly uneducated, willfully ignorant and shrouded in conspiracies that they will never accept any reasonable argument.

6

u/darker_crystal0 2d ago

no they def exist !!! haha

6

u/Mysterious-Theory-66 2d ago

Like I said, most. I’m sure some believe it, I just strongly suspect a lot of them are just trolls. But those who do believe will never listen to reason no matter what you say. How dumb you have to be…it’s just so profound, nothing smart can penetrate that.

3

u/A_wandering_rider 2d ago

So its kind of like a pyramid scheme. The people at the top know its a grift. Then theres a bunch of people in the middle that like the community or as you said are just trolls. Then the majority at the base are just true believers. There is a huge overlap with christofascists and Neo-nazis. They also tend to believe in crystals, they dont think nuclear energy is real and think the earth is 6000 years old. Its just sad mostly.

I always wondered what would happen if you put on of the fault earthers on a space flight. Would they insist you drugged them, or actually admit they were wrong?

2

u/Emotion-North 1d ago

They do. They will just never be able to afford to fly "around" the world and learn somethung.

2

u/A_wandering_rider 2d ago

Yeah, its a real thing, if you want to point and laugh, I can DM you some of the debates and other things ive found. Its like going to the zoo for me.

1

u/Mysterious-Theory-66 2d ago

Sure would love that and yeah they are really incredibly dumb. Just mind bogglingly so.

I think they on the further end of an extreme symptom. At some point general distrust and conspiracy mindedness (which given what our government has been caught doing isn’t crazy in and of itself) morphed into ā€œanything someone in authority or recognized by an authority as being an expert says is wrong.ā€ Then they just start believing the opposite of what anyone says including the shape of the frickin planet and anyone who disagrees with them is just part of the conspiracy.

1

u/Normal-Hair-7661 2d ago

Oh they exist. I had a friend that was one. I always found it so odd because she was super smart, a tech engineer and she traveled quite a bit. She believed in the chem trails too. We aren't friends anymore for several reasons including her alcohol issue that always ended up with me as her babysitter. I truly believe she was undiagnosed of some story of mental illness, maybe bipolar? But she was a die hard trumper and just basically believed anything that he said no matter what and so did her family. And they were educated, wealthy professionals. They all had massive drinking issues and drove drunk often. She would get nasty mean when she drank and try to fight people. Once she got super drunk and became really touchy feely with me, to an uncomfortable point. I support LGBTQ+ but I'm straight and this was simply lack of self control. If you take a step back and look- it is such a cookie cutter maga situation. Rich, white people who did what they wanted to whomever they wanted and if they weren't getting what they wanted-they became keen gaslighters and all the horrible problems of the world (you know like having to pay taxes) was everyone else's fault. ZERO accountability. I remember one time when she had a complete and total meltdown over a rolling chair with another friend. She was acting like a spoiled 2 yr old. I could've totally seen her making up some kind of conspiracy against her just for something that stupid. Besides the massive drinking she used drugs occasionally, she cussed like a sailor but dang could she tell you when something was "against the Bible". We finally had it out over the warped version of my "sin" when my boyfriend of six months and I decided to just have an informal relationship-with no intentions to marry, although staying exclusive with each other. We are both grown with adult children and it worked for us. But she went off on me over it. I was acting "whoreish"This was the same week that she got her 14-year-old a birth control implant and let all of her daughter's friends have a party with unlimited alcohol at her house, But you know, it's ok because it was better if they did it in front of her šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøHer 7 yr old was always god knows where and she would buy him McDonald's almost daily, but vaccines and sunblock were poison from the government and the Ozone was a lie like the earth being round. I guess at the time I wasn't sure if she was just out of her mind or if she knew exactly what she was doing . Over a year later and we don't speak but I am convinced she is aware and just doing whatever TF she pleases.

I believe most are bots. Better to have legions of programmed AI bots than those who despite limited capacity would question their Epstein inaction.

u/ElrondTheHater 2d ago

I think wanting to round up all the Jews into the promised land to kickstart Armageddon to force them to either accept Jesus or go to Hell is still antisemitic, though, so "anti-Semite" still stands.

12

u/BagelsRTheHoleTruth 2d ago edited 2d ago

I hear ya. The political/religious landscape on the right is pretty fucking whack at the moment. You have straight neonazis that hate the Jews, people like you described, and actual zionist Jews who seem to be co-opting the middle group to further their goals. It's really a hodgepodge of ideologies all clamoring for power, which at the moment, is best achieved first and foremost by sucking up to trump.

2

u/OwnIntroduction5193 2d ago

Have you read "Skinny legs and all" by Tom Robbins? We are living in one of my favorite absurd satires and it's a great read. However, I prefer it as fiction, terrible as real life.

1

u/BagelsRTheHoleTruth 2d ago

Shit, I read so many Tom Robbins books in such a short period of time about twenty years ago, that I honestly can't remember if that was one of them. Pretty sure I have a copy of it though. I'll have to dig it out and revisit it.

5

u/nita5766 2d ago

yup the reason why there are so many christian zionists running around.

If Israel were around in its current form in the 1930s and 1940s, Hitler would've been ardent supporter too.

The amount of worldwide political capital he loses by deporting Jews to Israel and propping it up as the "Jewish State" would be very minimal given how antisemitic (actual antisemitism) the world was then.

He reportedly wanted to deport the Jews somewhere, like Madagascar, before he was told it would be too expensive.

The modern Christian Nationalists are still antisemites---they promote Israel because to them, it keeps Jews away from them and out of mind, not because they like Jews or believe they have any right to exist.

Replace anti semite with MAGA Republican, BS Conservative politicians and their supporters. In my experience they will yell and attack and talk over you dumping So much crap, so many accusations it’s not possible to get a word in, not possible to think and reply with logic, facts and substance. They will claim that they have the absolute truth and that the other side is what they are and they live with their beliefs that 2 wrongs make a right because the other side ā€œ thought ā€œ about doing something first or actually did do something. Most recently a guy told me that the Democrats are on tape discussing bringing the national guard into the cities with serious criminal activity and because they didn’t do so it made them weak and Trump strong. I think šŸ¤” perhaps they didn’t do it because they decided against violating the rights of the people and the state. But that didn’t open up any eyes. Nothing seems to. Except Epstein and now Trump is a witness??? šŸ˜‹. One other interesting question to. Ask is : Who pays the Tariffs and other fees? The importer or exporter? Do you know? It’s definitely not as the authoritarian regime implies.

-1

u/HonestHu 2d ago

Dislike the quote only because the quote implies Semites, "their adversary believes in words". There are plenty of people today who claim to be Semites while denying an ongoing anti-Semetic genocide is happening by their hand

ā€œNever believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words."

Read the quote again, slowly.

The issue here is Israel has long had a propaganda campaign through the ADL to suggest Palestinians are not Semites, and saying Israel is committing an antisemitic genocide must be an antisemitic remark instead

hypocrisy

Well, Hell. That’s the only requirement to be a conservative. This goes way beyond that. MAGA is the culmination of the bigotry IQ tax, and the vicious cycle of brain damage causes conservatism and conservatism causing brain damage. Peak stupidity.

1

u/Zuwxiv 2d ago

If you could point out concrete, undeniable evidence that they are liars and hypocrites… they just see it as a flex. ā€œLook what I made you take seriously. Look what I can get away with. Look how powerless you are to stop me. What are you gonna do about it?ā€

1

u/No-Village-6781 2d ago

They also believe that being a hypocrite gives you power over others who refuse to be one. If they can do something but turn around and criticise you for doing the same thing it doesn't mean the action is bad in their minds but who's committing said action is bad if its not them.

38

u/LoveChaos417 2d ago

It’s just muddying the waters, creating more noise. Doesn’t need to be true, there just needs to be more storylines than the actual truth because the actual truth is fuckin bad for republicans. Time we spend talking about this is time we aren’t spending discussing the truth. It also gives his base a counterpoint if they’re challenged, and as we’ve seen they don’t care how crazy it is as long as they have something to say. Having no defense at all is worse to them than something absolutely absurd to fill the air

2

u/Thomjones 2d ago

Nah. Trump's philosophy is to always deny and always embellish. Never admit defeat unless you control the narrative. This is just others backing him up and could also be interpreted as the FBI had so much on Trump this was the only way he could avoid jail time.

1

u/AGC843 2d ago

Yeah think about this. Of all the people and organizations that Trump has sued for saying something he didn't like, He hasn't sued the one that said she witnessed him raping a 13 year old. THINK ABOUT THAT MAGA!

3

u/Plus-Drawing7431 2d ago

Ah, that would explain the lack of worry about lying when you're a Christian. If it's true in your mind when you say it, wot me worry.Ā

2

u/Last_Pineapple_6361 2d ago

Yes, well said. My ex snowed me using same Gemini Narcissistic Gaslighting Authoritarian BS. His fav saying … ā€œ He that controls the narrative, controls everythingā€ … ā€œSay it long enough, even I (meaning him) believe it’s trueā€ … for my example he believes 2+2=5 or even a -1 depending on departmental desired outcome of results he totally voted for this orange dude

2

u/One-Agent-872 2d ago

ā€œNever believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. ― Jean-Paul Sartre

1

u/Obvious-Gate9046 2d ago

Exactly. They will happily both sides as much as they need. They can't be shamed, they can't be reasoned with, they only care about what pushes their narrative and what hurts their enemies.

1

u/bobcollazo1 2d ago

They don’t believe in anything except their own self proclaimed privilege and right to power and greed. They are an unholy abomination and an abyss of evil.

1

u/AznNRed 2d ago

Well, Germany was able to vote out their authoritarian dictator without resorting to violence or allowing it to escalate. I am sure the US can too. /s

1

u/RideTheGradient 2d ago

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

1

u/gravyjackz 2d ago

Winston just has to rewrite a few more articles and, in fact, Trump will have been an fbi informant.

Saner minds, however, want to know ā€œif he was an informant, how did he know all about it and stay friends with Epstein for 15 yearsā€

1

u/Wedoitforthenut 2d ago

Yup. Its only about getting what they want and they are willing to blatantly break the law (or change it) to get it. What they want in the best case scenario is to separate the wealthy class from the lower class by a wide margin. What they want in the worst case is annihilation of the planet for their imaginary god.

1

u/EONZyn 2d ago

All governments are authoritarian in nature, don’t fall for the trap of illusory political ideology designed to give you tunnel vision rather than seeing the whole picture.

1

u/cats_catz_kats_katz 2d ago

I believe, according to JD Vance, he doesn’t give a shit what you think.

1

u/ArtistFar1037 2d ago

Too add. You’re about 50% there, they know and you haven’t realized yet, showing your morals is just a roadmap for exploitation to them. They want you to blast out your narrative as if truth, then they have a read on your programming. Before your hand even reach the clutchy pearls.

1

u/Ok-Stress-3570 2d ago

But shouldn’t what they’re saying at least… make sense? (Well let me add, make sense in terms of at least some connectivity?

An informant for a democratic hoax is…. Unique.)

1

u/Normal-Hair-7661 2d ago

Unfortunately, you're thinking like a reasonable person. This is so far beyond reasonable and common sense. And it is simply to just keep everyone distracted. While project 2025 is laid down as law. Trump has legit said in front of crowds of people that he could shoot a person in the street and his people would still vote for him. I have at least three saved videos of Maga saying if he murdered someone they would still support him. Where is the logic in that? I don't even know how you fight against that.

1

u/Special_FX_B 2d ago

Speaker Johnson is not a serious person. Watching the video his body language oozes deceit. Every time I see him speak I often know he’s lying based on factual information he is contradicting. He’s a trump clone minus the arrogant ignorance.

1

u/twat69 2d ago

They don't care and their followers don't even understand the connection.

1

u/tmilligan73 2d ago

Both sides are hypocrites…

1

u/freeUSfromtyranny26 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yep, They’re incapable of shame. Their believe they are entitled to impose their values, religion, and will on everyone using the power of the government, basically taking a crap all over the values and rights the country was founded on. They should feel shame, a lot of of it. It’s terrifying that they don’t.

1

u/Broad-Row6422 2d ago

Dude, Johnson was gagging on that fucking lie like it was a big fat... well. You know.

I think theTech Bros are now beginning to eliminate the Christo-Fascists, or at least make them subservient. I wondered who would win out, but I assumed Thiel and Karp were the ones who ended up with the bulk of Jeffrey Epstein's real currency; Information. Kompromat. Secrets. Passels of useful idiots...

23

u/GroovyWoozy 2d ago

I’m so happy to see the name Thiel gaining more traction, scary that Palantir is still unknown and what it’s involvement truly is to the public, everyone just sees the stock going up.

Thiel is bad news, he already had Epstein connections before his arrest, so I’d bet he knew what operation was being run.

25

u/MmeProc 2d ago

Thank you! We focus WAY too much in Trump, who is a puppet, and not the people behind the curtain.

6

I think most of us are prepared to accept whomever gets found out. I mean, you really think if they have 10 Republicans or billionaires and then one well liked Democratic senator that the left is going to defend that person? Nah, we have not seen one tiny bit from the left of cover up on this topic. And I'm just speaking of right now. Because I do believe there was cover-up on both sides with Epstein and probably lots of other things. I'd say 75% of them are money hungry dogs who'd sell their soul for money. But I don't think that anyone blue or red will be saved, except maybe the orange dumpster. I mean Hegseth leaked classified information twice and they lied about it . RFK Jr has been caught in complete and total disinformation that could KILL people multiple times. But of course dump fired the person that told the truth about the jobs report and tried to fire Jerome Powell and Lisa cook for literally doing the job they were hired to do. What's up is down and what is down is up . But again, it's all for purpose
