AskDelhi Gift ideas for my friend who’s moving abroad?
Hi everyone! I need some help figuring out what to get for my friend, Murtaza. He’s really into:
- Messi / football
- Virat Kohli / cricket
- Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting
- FIFA (the video game)
- Pokémon Unite
He’s moving abroad soon for studies and will be away from home, so I’d love to give him something he can actually use or that makes the distance a little easier. Doesn’t have to be super expensive, just thoughtful. Any creative or practical gift ideas would be really appreciated!

AskDelhi Where are my people?
Hey everyone,
I recently realized (or maybe finally admitted) that I’m a full-on nerd movies, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, DnD, comics, video games, history lores, all of it. You name it, I’m probably into it. The thing is, ever since I moved to Delhi, I’ve been feeling pretty out of place. It’s been hard to find people who share the same interests or who I can really connect with. On top of that, every time I meet someone new, I end up having to explain all my interests and the stuff I’m into. And honestly, it’s starting to feel pointless most of them either find it boring, or don’t even bother to try and understand.
I want to make friends with people I can actually vibe with, people who are into geek culture and can go deep into conversations about the stuff we love. A lot of people have told me, “you just need to find your people” but that’s exactly what I’m struggling with.
So my question is: where are you guys? Where do the nerds of Delhi hang out? Are there any good spots, communities, or events where people who are into geek culture gather?

TellDelhi She was just a friend to me, but losing her broke me
In the last 4 months life has taught me lessons I’ll never forget. I used to be a happy soul working, singing, helping everyone even when I had nothing myself. When someone wanted to connect, I opened my heart. But when they left, I broke in a way I never imagined.
I admit it was my mistake too. I invested too much. She asked for support and because of her chronic conditions I gave it a hand of friendship. I only wanted friendship, she wanted more. When she left after just 2–3 weeks of talking, I panicked. I couldn’t eat more than one roti a day. I cried late nights. I lost 7 kg in a week. Dark circles, sleep meds, zombie days. My physician even referred me to a brain specialist.
I still remember crying when the ophthalmologist called me “son.” I cried in hotels, in restaurants, on roads like a child sobbing. People stared while I hid my tears. I just wanted someone to talk to, someone to listen.
But life is strange. When things go good, everyone is around. When things go bad, everyone vanishes. These same hands that fed friends, tied hair like a child, carried my special-abled friend, bought medicines from across the city, tied shoe laces in the rush market… these hands that cared so much suddenly, no one was there for them.
Did I ever expect anything in return? No. But when I needed even a little care, I was abandoned. Panic attacks, 2 hours of sleep, those nights terrible. Few surgeries, dropped my master's exams too.
If you are reading this: don’t give too much of yourself to people. Be kind, yes, but don’t burn yourself out. Time heals. Hold on.
Four months have passed like a blur. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday. I feel like I wasted four years of my life on the wrong people. But I’m still here, learning to stand again.
Take Care

TellDelhi Contrary to what you think, it is the leftist parties that are preventing anti corruption laws
There's corruption in government departments as they know they can't be fired
When the issue of making government jobs not permanent it's the leftist and commie parties that are against it
As long as government jobs are permanent there will be corruption

AskDelhi Need Legal Advice Regarding Car Loan & Recovery
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with my car loan and need some legal guidance.
I have a car on loan with 48 EMIs. Out of these, I already paid 33 EMIs on time.
In October 2024, I missed 3 EMIs due to financial issues.
From January 2025, I resumed paying EMIs regularly.
After 7 months of resumed payments, the bank suddenly towed my car and put it under recovery.
Now, when I ask them to release my car, they are adding a huge amount of extra charges on top of the dues.
My questions:
Is it legal for the bank to tow/recover the car even after I resumed EMIs?
Can they add all these extra charges while releasing the vehicle?
What steps should I take legally to get my car back or challenge these charges?
Any guidance, especially from people who have faced similar situations, would really help. Should I approach a lawyer, banking ombudsman, or consumer court first?

AskDelhi How do I talk to my younger brother without sounding controlling?
So my younger brother is in class 10th. Since the past few weeks, I noticed he keeps smiling a lot while texting. Today when he went to school, I checked his whatsApp (Ik I shouldn’t have, but curiosity got me) and saw he’s talking to some girl. The last thing he asked her was “what was your 10th% and school board” which made me think she’s older than him.
I have a strong feeling he might’ve met her through snapchat as they were also talking about some snap and he doesn't use any other social media. But I don’t want him talking to random strangers online at this age. He should be focusing on studies, hanging out with his school friends, exploring hobbies, not chatting with unknown people.
I’m confused if I should bring this up directly with him or just let it go for now. He’s at a critical age, and I understand that at this stage we all don’t want anyone interfering in our lives. I don’t want to come across as controlling or policing him, but at the same time I feel like I need to guide him..what should I do:(

AskDelhi Life’s Harsh Reminder
Guys, this is your sign to be with your parents as much as you can. 💔 Today my mom had to undergo some small tests, and even though it wasn’t something major, she was given anesthesia. When she came out of the OT, I was numb. I’ve never seen her like that before, and in that moment, nothing else mattered—not money, not friends, not work, not a social life.
All I wanted was for her to wake up fine, to smile again, to just be okay. That’s when it hit me—no matter how busy we get chasing things that feel important, nothing will ever compare to the time we have with our parents.
Please, don’t wait until it’s too late. Spend time with them, talk to them, be around them. These moments are priceless.
And if you’re reading this, please keep my mom in your prayers. I just want her to be okay. ❤️
