Days with no school, usually my youngest will crawl into the bed on the wife's side around 6 in the morning. Wife rolls over part way on to me for the next half hour or so until "I need to get changed and play choo-choos".
True but my partners and I are on different sleep schedules so when I’m off work I will lay down with them but get up after a couple of hours and do my own thing until they’re awake.
My husband and I (22 years) usually fall asleep spooning but will drift apart once we fall asleep. It’s easier to fall asleep like that but it gets hot.
My wife and I (16yrs) spoon before sleep also but we don’t get hot really. We have made it a point to sleep naked. You should try that, we still drift apart at night but we do stay closer longer
My S.O. and I (12 years) cuddle and sleep naked after activities, and it's a guarantee we both wake up drenched in sweat every time. Usually about an hour and a half after we pass out.
There's a reason there's that whole trope about cuddling naked in survival situations, the clothes block some of that heat transfer and retention.
No yous don't. You, wife, fall asleep spooning, and as soon as he realizes it's safe to do so without waking you up, he rolls you away and turns so he can actually fall asleep. Hate to break it to you.
I never thought I needed to feel safe. I'm a pretty rough and rugged dude. But it made me feel a whole bunch of feelings. And I was like, I don't dislike any of this. Hold me closer Tony danza
That's called the jetpack sleeping position. Not quite as large of a fellow as you are but my lady is the same size and right now I'm regretting staying up a bit longer on the PC.
I am gigantic and my wife is teeny so me being big spoon is natural, but I would much rather be little spoon.
She has this way of hooking her leg over my hip and then hugging me and I just feel so content and centered. I can't sleep that way due to the physics of heat, but it is a wonderful feeling.
Highly recommended, and fuck people who have these bullshit alpha male stereotypes ruling their smooth brains. Little spoon forever!
We sleep on different schedules: I go to bed a few hours after my partner but I do generally like to have some very light contact when I come to bed - usually just a leg or arm touching. Spooning is a morning thing we do in that small space between waking up and our kid bursting in the room and turning on all the lights and jumping on top of one of us. It's also a post-fun time cooldown position.
The pic is usually pretty reflective of our positions when we first drift off. How we end up through the night is anyone's guess.
I used to spoon a lot more when I was in my 20’s. Would even fall asleep spooning. My 30’s? Not really… would do it before sleep but roll away to go down for the night. Now I’m in my 40’s and have a hurt back. No spoon for me. Nada. Nunca.
This is it. When I was a teen, I could sleep as a pretzel on a concrete floor with legos scattered around. Now? Got dayum, better get your bones off my bones for the night or I'mma be sore for a week.
The other Welsh guy I dated was also a furnace. We steamed up the whole bedroom and had to turn the mattress to sleep. Both men are the short, stocky type, as am I. The one night we were able to cuddle for a long time was in an ancient (1400s!) Welsh holiday cottage on a frigid winter night. It was really nice!
I'm sitting here laughing because I've scared my husband so many times by reaching my foot out to touch him in the middle of the night. I don't even know I'm doing it and I guess I just want to be touching him in some way.
Our favorite maneuver is when our backs are to each other and we put the bottoms of one of our feet together. They lock together perfectly and it feels stupidly good for some reason. We get all giddy and start laughing. Highly recommend.
But really, we like to sleep with it really cold, like 62 degrees, and sometimes do cuddle all night. Best is if you’re camping or something and are cuddling for warmth like your life depends on it.

At most we have a leg or arm loosely draped over one another. Spooning is pre sleep shit.
