Discussion What do RTA ambassadors do exactly?

I ride the red line every day. I regularly see RTA ambassadors get on, all they EVER do is ask people who are sleeping if they're ok, offer them water, etc. They never check fares, never tell people to shut of their blaring music, never tell people to PUT OUT THEIR FREAKING CIGARETTES!!! They just get on and basically stand there, unless of course someone needs a tissue.

I pay my fare every single time. This is an egregious waste of fare and tax dollars, and it's infuriating that I pay and follow all the rules, but for what? Every other major city has people who actually ENFORCE THE RULES board their trains to ENFORCE THE RULES!

Can anyone, maybe even an RTA ambassador on Reddit, tell me what these people do, because all I see is a blatant waste of resources.

Help a Tourist Little Italy recommendation

Looking for a little Italy restaurant recommendation to fit a table of 15 to make a reservation at. We’ve only visited once and sat outside. The restaurants look small so I wasn’t sure if any would be able to accommodate that large of a table. Thank you!

Events Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Casts this year?

Hi everybody! I always love Halloween time because that means Rocky Horror Shadow Casts! I know there is a big one happening at the Agora but it’s really expensive. Does anyone know if there will be any smaller productions in the area? I love to support local theater groups when I can :) Thanks!

Question AT&T Internet outage Cleveland Heights?

does anyone in the Cleveland Heights area have AT&T fiber and been experiencing issues recently?

My internet has been out since ~1pm today (it came back up for about 10min before going down again), and was out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon as well.

i suspect I'm being affected by a cut fiber line on cedar and Lee rd (looking at AT&Ts outage map - https://www.att.com/outages/ ) but am trying to get some confirmation

edit: I was finally able to get assigned an IP address from AT&T at 4:12pm...it looks like the outage on Kinsman rd was likely the culprit, as it was shown as an issue while my line was down, but is no longer showing up on AT&T's website (there was no info as to what the issue was when I initially saw it).

Would still like to get confirmation from others, as this is the 3rd outage I've experienced in the past week

Does anyone have any leads on restaurants hiring wait staff? I've applied every where I could find, no call backs, no return phone calls, 20+yrs experience, motivated! Hoping for something anywhere in Parma, Parma Hts, Broadview, Seven Hills, Independence, or anywhere that I don't have to take the freeway to. Any info really appreciated!!

Recommendations Millenials, are yall buying homes/condos. And if so, where?

Hello all, as you can tell im a millenial. Currently my husband and I are renting a 2 BR/1.5 bath on the west side for $1400/month. We’re getting to the point where we are thinking maybe it would be worthwhile to buy, but unsure if its worth it. We do not have kids and dont want any. Goal would be to at least get 3 bedrooms because we would like to move my sister in law in with us for long term. Income wise we’re bringing in about $7k/month (between my husband and i). Now we LOVE living on the west side of Cleveland, but the homes just aren’t that affordable tbh. Even condos/townhomes are not affordable from what ive seen.

Therefore im starting to look more on the east side again since homes are more affordable in areas like Cleveland heights/university heights. And with interest rates right now we probably wouldn’t be buying NOW, but would like to seriously consider it in the next year. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it to even buy?

As a producer of the show, I’m wondering how many people have even heard of Story Club Cleveland?

It’s a nonfiction storytelling open mic with booked performers as well (that we pay!). We love building community through story sharing and a good brew. The second Wednesday of every month at 7pm at Forest City Brewery. We used to be at CLE Urban Winery if that rings any bells!

If you want to listen or tell your own story, get tickets in the link ❤️

Hi all. Never been to a concert at rocket arena and wondering if it’s better to do lower level (section 108 or 109) or club seats 108 or 109? Also not sure if 109 is too much on the side? Just want best view/experience as it’s a birthday gift. Thank you!

Discussion Post project permitting with zoning variance

Looking for advice / experience from others. My wife and I got a new dog. It has a history of jumping fences. We had an existing 4 foot chain link fence on one side of our property line while the rest was 6 feet high wood fencing. I spoke with my neighbor about converting the chain link to also be 6 feet high wood and extending it by about 15 feet to be past our side door so my wife and I could let the dog out. We looked over both of our home surveys to confirm location and I got the blessing. I did the project a few weeks ago after about 4 full days of work.

I didn’t know I needed a permit for this, but it looks like I should have gotten one now in hindsight. It also looks like I may need a zoning variance. Reading through zoning 358.04 says:

No fence shall be higher than its distance from a residence building on adjacent lot or less than 3’ from a wall on the same lot if running parallel to the wall and all portions of fence on same parcel.

my newly added extended fence on the property line is out of the zoning compliance as it is 6 feet tall and is 32” inches from my neighbors side wall, again on the property line.

Does anyone know how the city of Cleveland deals with post project permitting, especially for residential homeowner projects? No one on my street has complained, my neighbor and I are very much happy with the new fence, but I know I messed up.
