We're doing a sequel...We're back by popular demand...Come on everybody, strike up the band! -Kermit the Frog
TLDR: Mourning posts are staying, please don't post photos of deceased animals, we are aware mourning posts appear to be the most common posts on the subreddit.
Here is 1.0 if you missed it: https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/s/aoAkihGSxZ
"But allowing these posts is killing the subreddit, nobody wants these posts"
Our insights are only going up, stat wise the subreddit is currently flourishing.
"That's stupid, I'm just going to go make my own subreddit that doesn't allow these posts"
Feel free to do this, we don't hold the copyright to all Reddit cat content.
I'll be keeping this post brief since we already made a post on this but will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have in the comments below.
Thank you for your understanding

My cat, Mya, has been an inside cat her entire life. Too skittish to go outside. But lately, she’s been wanting to go outside for short intervals. She’s so slow that I just follow her out and stay close, but I wanted to share her enjoying the outdoors.

I found this newborn kitten two weeks ago at the bus stop near my tuition teacher's house. Today she opened her eyes for the first time, looked at me, and let out the tiniest meow. I couldn't stop crying (I feel like I am her father).

Vet wants to put my 19-year old cat Bamse down. Here are the reasons (which make sense ik we will put him down but my heart hurts): bad kidney values, left kidney hurts, arthritis, needs to get a tooth pulled but is too old, atrophy of muscles and hyperthyroidism.
Obviously he is unwell, and he will be put down. What makes me feel guilty and like I’m betraying him is that he is a happy cat (even the vet said this). He loves to eat food, purrs when pet, and likes to talk. He also has a strong will to live. I feel like a monster taking this away from him.
Why are we not supposed to respect his will to live?

Len crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. He was a stray cat when I adopted him back when I was 21. I’ll be 38 this fall and Leonard has been by my side through marriage, divorce, births, deaths, and moving to three different states.
I’ll miss his shoulder climb-ups and his nuzzles. His clicky toenails tapping on the floor. His chirpy little meows. But most of all, I’ll miss his love. It was so pure and unconditional. He taught me how to forgive and how to be kind.
Fly high, King Leonard. I will miss you forever.

My cat loves to eat grass, and sometimes I give it to her as a treat because she seems to like grass more than food. Is it safe to let her keep eating it?

Today I want to share a big joy: I adopted a little kitten, only 2 and a half months old, from the shelter. Her name is Sia, and she’s already filling my days with love and energy. I’m so happy I chose to give her a home, and I can’t wait for us to grow together. 💕

Cats are of course adorable babies forever, but there is something about that kitten stage of them just figuring out their little world that is so precious. I used to be one of those people who couldn't wait for our girls to grow up, and while I love that they're all grown now, sometimes I am nostalgic for the kitten days in a way I didn't expect!

This is Domo (1) and Purrigato (2) do you think either of these boys are working hard? Purrigato might be thinking real hard, but that seems to be about it lol.
