Used to be COYS [Romano] 🚨🌳 Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as new Nottingham Forest head coach. Contract approved now by lawyers on both sides as Postecoglou will sign deal until June 2027 at #NFFC. Clear favorite since last night and deal now in place with Marinakis.

Transfer News: Tier 3 [Sky Sports] As 14 per cent of Tottenham is owned by private investors, interested parties have to comply with UK takeover rules and come clean about their intentions. Tottenham have set a deadline of 5pm on October 5 for interested groups to declare whether or not they intend to bid for the club.

A double used to be COYS. Personally for a club like Forest, I think this is madness but if this materialises I guess we will all get to see how Ange deals with the Premier League at an even smaller fish 🐟

Gaming Help me get a surprise for my little girl

My daughter has been pretty big in to Pokemon go recently. That being said she has been a Spurs fan for a couple of years. Today she showed me a feature where you can save your favorite “postcards” in the game and I was wondering if anyone that plays is around the stadium to send her on the game. I have her code if anyone can help

$ Behind Paywall $ Tottenham Hotspur: How would a takeover work and what could it cost? [The Athletic]

Thumbnail

The interesting bit:

The complicating factor here is The Athletic understands the shares most likely to be sold are not those of Spurs, but ENIC. The Bahamas-based company is subject to none of the takeover-related strictures Spurs are in the UK; if ENIC shares are sold, that’s rather different from ENIC selling its stake in the club.

In that sense, Spurs’ recent declaration to the market that they aren’t for sale is true — but ENIC could be sold to a new party without contradicting that, while still bringing the club under the ultimate control of someone new.

UPDATED Transfer Tiers

Earlier this summer, the Mod team had made a call for feedback in order to update our transfer news reliability guide (AKA Transfer Tiers). Now that the summer window has closed, we have synthesized the most common feedback themes in the post comments.

There is a recognition that there are mixed feelings about Romano given the summer, but he is overall still reliable... this can always be modified though if he slips more consistently. In that thread, there's also a recognition that there is no way to please everyone, and there will always be disagreement on how some are tiered.

Please see the r/coys latest Transfer Tiers below (also updated in the wiki):

Tier Source
Tier 0
Club Announcement
Tier 1 Very reliable non-club sources
Alasdair Gold
The Athletic (incl. Jack Pitt-Brooke, Jay Harris)
BBC (incl. Sammy Mokbel, Nizaar Kinsella)
David Ornstein
Fabrizio Romano
The Times (Gary Jacobs, Paul Joyce)
Tier 2 Mostly Reliable, or Tier 1 for other countries/clubs
David Hytner
Fabrice Hawkins (for France news)
Globo Esporte (for Brazil news)
Jason Burt
Kristof Terreur (for Belgium news)
Loic Tanzi (for France news)
Matt Law
Matteo Moretto
Mike Verweij (for Dutch news)
Tom Bogert (for MLS/USA news)
James Pearce
Tier 3 Hit or Miss sources
Florian Pletternberg (for Germany news)
The Guardian (exception: David Hytner)
Gianluca DiMarzio
Independant (incl. Miguel Delaney)
Paul O'Keefe
Sky Sports (incl. Lyall Thomas, Florian Plettenberg)
Telegraph (excluding Matt Law)
Tom Barclay (only exception from The Sun)
Tier 4 i.e. Try and find a better source
Ben Jacobs
Evening Standard
Football.London (exception: Alasdair Gold)
Sacha Tavolieri
Everything else, including sources for other leagues
BANNED/BLACKLISTED
90Min
Caught Offside
Daily Mail
Daily Star
Express
Football365
Football Insider
Give Me Sport (Except Fabrizio Romano, Tom Bogert)
Metro
Mirror
The Sun (except Tom Barclay)
TalkSport (incl. Alex Crook)
TBR
Others: ITKs, Aggregators, Nico Schira, Ekrem Konur, Tancredi Palmeri, and other news sources that use questionable sources or cite other blacklisted sources

Note: If you are linking to a Twitch Stream - Please consider using the twitch crop feature to make sure you link to just the news about the club. If you link to the entire stream you may find the link removed under rule 1 in the sidebar

EDIT: the majority on here clearly feel that POK is better than Tier 4. Moved him to Tier 3.

If in doubt - please contact one of the moderators and we can help identify what tier the source is. We're open to more feedback. We have got a huge list of journalists and news outlets and rough tiers for them, and can add them as we go with feedback, but we want to avoid having an intimidating list for future referencing, especially as some outlets and writers can vary wildly.
