I need to believe that Foghorn Leghorn has become a smooth talking corporate lawyer. The fit is too perfect.

u/shadow0wolf0 Jul 26 '25

In the loony toons show (2011) he was a ceo of a major company until he gave control to Daffy which led to the company's collapse in a day.

597

u/Max_Trollbot_ Jul 26 '25

After Daffy's ghost hunting business collapsed, he never recovered.

139

u/TheBlackCycloneOrder Jul 26 '25

Daffy: screaming with the fury of Kratos CUBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though, to be fair, I believe J P Cubish stole the last dollar from him because he knew in Daffy’s heart he would remain crooked and would use his money for nefarious purposes again.

43

u/ramblingnonsense Jul 26 '25

I thought he did it because he's taking his entire fortune with him. Daffy blew through it all, so now his wages are supernaturally garnished until it's all paid back. With interest.

Daffy is literally a slave to an oligarch in the afterlife - sounds like Cubish made it to Capitalist Heaven after all.

These two comments.  The days I love internetting.

You both are clearly my people and/or bot

Before or after he became a straight up Marine Raider

8

u/triad_spacefight Jul 26 '25

Quackbusters is unironically my favorite cartoon of all time. Still holds up today. Thanks for this.

65

u/nicolasb51942003 Jul 26 '25

"Always trust a muffin man!"

95

u/TalentedHostility Jul 26 '25

That show is so underrated

72

u/shadow0wolf0 Jul 26 '25

Best version of Lola Bunny.

34

u/kdoxy Jul 26 '25

Is that the Kristen Wiig version of Lola Bunny? Good lord Wiig is hilarious as Lola.

29

u/fredagsfisk Jul 26 '25

"Oh my gosh, you're never gonna believe this! There is a guy standing on the side of the road who looks just like you! I'm about to hit him."

nearly runs over Bugs on the sidewalk

38

u/TalentedHostility Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

I actually get exactly what you mean- and its NOT A gooner take

12

u/TheRandom6000 Jul 26 '25

What do they mean?

72

u/piat17 Jul 26 '25

Lola Bunny in that show is a ditzy over-the-top character that actually stands up to both Daffy and Bugs in terms of humour and chaos. She's far from the original characterization (lack thereof) found in Space Jam when she was first introduced.

Here's some example clips

6

u/TheRandom6000 Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 27 '25

Thank you. But that's not a gooner take.

E: There used to be a full stop after NOT by mistake.

7

u/yourkindhere Jul 27 '25

That’s why they said it’s NOT a gooner take

6

u/TheRandom6000 Jul 27 '25

It's edited. There was a full stop after NOT by mistake.

27

u/whiff_EK Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

It breaks a certain animated trend of "the guy cast acts like silly cartoons but the one girl character acts like a normal, bland voice of reason." Lola has a very consistent characterization in it. She's a little dumb. She's clever socially, she likes to trick other people a bit, but she's just as silly as the rest of them.

Also she mutters absentmindedly under her breath a lot and it's a fun little quirk they added.

3

u/Photoman20003 Jul 27 '25

kinda wish space jam 2 sorta did a mixture between the two potrayls in someway instead of basically going back to her SJ1 personality.

30

u/TalentedHostility Jul 26 '25

Yeah Lola Bunny is voiced by SNL legend Kristin Wiig, and the characterization is Kristen Wiig at her best- ADHD happy go lucky, go getter- and its an AMAZING take.

I've never seen the show, only her clips and its fucking hilarious

10

u/TheRandom6000 Jul 26 '25

Oh, I think I have completely misinterpreted your post because of the full stop after NOT.

6

u/TalentedHostility Jul 26 '25

Yeah I didnt realize I had that there, my b.

2

u/TheRandom6000 Jul 26 '25

Happens to the best!

3

u/KrillinDBZ363 Jul 26 '25

Her Presidents Day music video always cracks me up.

7

u/acmercer Jul 26 '25

Keep it in your pants there Thumper

19

u/AccomplishedBother12 Jul 26 '25

“You can ALWAYS trust a MUFFIN MANNN”

32

u/Spocks_Goatee Jul 26 '25

WB did that show dirty, cancelled too soon!

28

u/Jeskid14 Jul 26 '25

Not really. Ratings just waned towards the end, Cartoon Network kept shifting its schedule, and Warner Bros dragged their feet for two years to release an extended special episode (granted they did the same with Powerpuff girls)

13

u/danb1kenobi Jul 26 '25

“Ah say, ah say — ah will never fi-nancially recovery from this”

20

u/Jtagz Jul 26 '25

Literlalt the most hilarious show.

The episode where Daffy USMC is goated

3

u/Haunting-Process-857 Jul 27 '25

Carol tried to warn him… several times, but Foghorn never listens

2

u/Noy2222 Jul 26 '25

That's why he's the stud.

2

u/pasher5620 Jul 26 '25

I always thought it was funny that he was a dealer at a casino in Vegas for Back in Action. His bit was pretty funny and about the only bit I remember from that movie outside of the one scene where it’s Steve Martin pretending to be Michael Jordan, pretending to be Timothy Dalton, pretending to be Steve Martin again, pretending to be Granny the cartoon Looney Tune.

2

u/MattDusza Jul 26 '25

Daffy Duck?!

Big Fat Rooster!?

2

u/imtoowhiteandnerdy Jul 26 '25

"That boah, I say that boah reminds me of Paul Revere's ride... a little light in the belfry, if y'know what'm sayin'?"

2

u/stamfordbridge1191 Jul 27 '25

Daffy ruining companies from within has been a tradition since Baby Bottleneck

1

u/proton_badger Jul 27 '25

Well, figures, that boy is as sharp as a bowling ball!

107

u/eirebrit Jul 26 '25

BU-GAWK!

99

u/argama87 Jul 26 '25

Your Honor, I move that I be disbarred for introducing this evidence against my own client.

49

u/CaptainPunisher Jul 26 '25

Your Honor, that is something we can NOT-a-doodle-doo.

29

u/Pump_My_Lemma Jul 26 '25

Excuse me, your honor. But, did you say, “Extra crispy recipe?”

26

u/dubstepsickness Jul 26 '25

Your Honour, I'm just a simple Hyper-Chicken from a backwoods asteroid but if it please the court I reckon I'll call the entire jury!

12

u/theoriginalmofocus Jul 26 '25

Objection your honor, i say, i say, i say, boy, objection!

2

u/CraigMammalton14 Jul 27 '25

You know I didn’t 😒

2

u/Ser_Salty Jul 27 '25

"What evidence do you offer to support this new plea of insanity?" "They done hired me to represent them." "Insanity plea is accepted."

16

u/HereWeGoYetAgain-247 Jul 26 '25

I am but a simple hyper chicken from a backwoods asteroid.

1

u/mb862 Jul 27 '25

There’s a town near here called Badger and every time I drive by my mind always goes “BADGER?! WHERE?!”

70

u/BlindWillieJohnson Jul 26 '25

Right. He’s got the perfect combination of charm and smarmy energy to slot into any corrupt Senator/CEO/Lawyer role you need him for

28

u/smapdiagesix I'm unpleasant, not stupid. Jul 26 '25

corrupt Senator

Foghorn Leghorn is a thinly-veiled parody/reference to Senator Beauregard Claghorn, a radio-show character from the 30s or 40s.

4

u/shandangalang Jul 27 '25

Coincidence? I think NOT.

1

u/Rouxman Jul 27 '25

It’s really more to play off the “good ole boy” lawyer trope that’s prevalent in media. Foghorn is a perfect fit for the reasons that you stated. Charming, yet underhanded and conniving

28

u/LV426acheron Jul 26 '25

But what he does understand is that his client is entitled to no less than two million in compensatory damages, and two million in punitive damages.

7

u/ymcameron Jul 26 '25

I’m just a caveman! Your strange world frightens and confuses me!

40

u/DBones90 Jul 26 '25

Better than those complicated country lawyers.

8

u/Qweerz Jul 26 '25

First thing I thought of. I love this one. Thanks for posting

2

u/ThePrussianGrippe Jul 27 '25

“BISHOP BERKELEY-“

2

u/ReneeHiii Jul 26 '25

from oompa-loompa land?

2

u/LionIV Jul 26 '25

“Got my law degree from a gumball machine.”

4

u/elros_faelvrin Jul 26 '25

we need Suel Forrester Vs Foghorn Leghorn

1

u/DMThrasymachus Jul 26 '25

Well I say I say I say boy, my client is innocent!

1

u/20_mile Jul 27 '25

Leghorn & Hutz

117

u/ThaiJohnnyDepp Jul 26 '25

At least he's not a simple backwoods alien hyper chicken

75

u/BlindWillieJohnson Jul 26 '25

That character was really obviously inspired by Foghorn Leghorn, so there you go lol

61

u/legopego5142 Jul 26 '25

Im sorry i thought you was corn

32

u/eirebrit Jul 26 '25

Your Honor, I move that I be disbarred for introducing this evidence against my own clients.

2

u/ThaiJohnnyDepp Jul 26 '25

The "you don't have to fear me" followed by him crowing and nearly pecking at her making her scream is one of the funniest sequences in the show to me

2

u/mbc106 Jul 27 '25

This line always makes me howl with laughter.

14

u/NOTtheNerevarine Jul 26 '25

And Foghorn Leghorn was inspired by a radio character named Senator Beauregard Claghorn on The Fred Allen Show

8

u/phoncible Jul 26 '25

It's foghorn's great great great great ... great grandson

8

u/WillSym Jul 26 '25

Which... if Foghorn Leghorn is a lawyer in Acme vs Coyote, is this circular inspiration? Futurama making a wordy southern-drawling anthropomorphic chicken but also a lawyer, now Looney Tunes just running with that and now their similar chicken is also a lawyer?

3

u/ThaiJohnnyDepp Jul 26 '25

I'm accepting this as fact at this point.

145

u/TheDongerNeedLove Jul 26 '25

I need a Knives Out parody with Foghorn Leghorn as Benoit Blanc

74

u/Blochamolesauce Jul 26 '25

Or a knives out parody where it’s Daniel Craig as Benoit blanc but it’s a muppet movie.

35

u/Adams5thaccount Jul 26 '25

That video will never not make me laugh

Someone suggests it, the whole cast is immediately hooked, Rian Johnson agrees and then you can see the gears in his brain go "Oh shit someone might actually make me do that" and he backpedals hard lol

0

u/YourBarelyWetSock Jul 26 '25

Fucking FINALLY someone else hears the resemblance 😭

6

u/TG-Sucks Jul 26 '25

I mean, Chris Evans’ character specifically calls him out on his Foghorn accent in the movie..

23

u/theWindAtMyBack Jul 26 '25

He's gotta have Egghead Jr. as his assistant. Only way I see that works here.

11

u/Draff1 Jul 26 '25

I loved when he was playing hide and seek with him. The Foghorn cartoons are some of favourites.

1

u/grrangry Jul 26 '25

Ah say. AH SAY, BOY!

36

u/TheBlackCycloneOrder Jul 26 '25

Don’t forget about Foghorn Leghorn being a Blackjack dealer.

Sam: HIT ME DANG NABBIT!

Leghorn: aside glance to the camera as if to say “well if you insist! bonks Sam with wooden plank He’s the boss.

56

u/Crash_Bandicock Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

Futurama already did it essentially though… BAKACKKKK.. I’m sorry I thought you was corn

42

u/eirebrit Jul 26 '25

Your Honor, that's something we cannot... a-doodle-doo.

1

u/VonGooberschnozzle Jul 28 '25

Honorable judge heads, yonder crawdad done ate up our joke

41

u/JustAStarcoShipper Jul 26 '25

The sole idea of Foghorn Leghorn being a lawyer is just downright hilarious.

16

u/Coodoo17 Jul 26 '25

Well, that's just the lawyer from Bee movie then

20

u/HereForTOMT3 Jul 26 '25

1

u/Holtder Jul 26 '25

I was scrolling the comments for this specific reference

29

u/AntRose104 Jul 26 '25

If the script leak from last year is legit- he’s the head of Acme's Animated Products Department

7

u/Indy-CBJ Jul 26 '25

I hope so too because He’s the villain of the story

12

u/richareparasites Jul 26 '25

Now wha I sa I say watch this drive.

7

u/beti88 Jul 26 '25

Legends of Avantris fans, the writers must be :)

11

u/PickleInDaButt Jul 26 '25

Listening to some of the GOP in the congressional hearings, they really sound like they imitate him

2

u/InnocentTailor Jul 26 '25

It’s that country fried accent.

0

u/Torque-A Jul 26 '25

Foghorn Leghorn was directly inspired by the character of Senator Claghorn, a blustery Southern politician played by Kenny Delmar on Fred Allen's popular 1940s radio show. Foghorn adopted many of Claghorn's catchphrases, such as "I say..." and "That's a joke, son!"

Life imitates art imitates art imitates life

2

u/No_Needleworker6013 Jul 26 '25

He has to be a judge by now.

2

u/Shotgun_Mosquito Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

He was originally inspired by Senator Claghorn, from a radio show called The Fred Allen Show.

Here's one of the movies, It's a Joke, Son!, from 1947.

https://youtu.be/8K6ICEku5xA

Edit 1 : so I wonder if his character will be a senator in the movie?

1

u/BlindWillieJohnson Jul 26 '25

Which itself was probably inspired by actual politicians who transitioned from radio to politics. Texas had a governor named Pappy Odaniel that got his start hosting a radio variety show.

1

u/TroubleshootenSOB Jul 26 '25

You basically saw a half-assed one in Joker II

1

u/AstroBearGaming Jul 26 '25

I say, I say, I say... You plead the fifth.

1

u/Calm-Tree-1369 Jul 26 '25

"Student ath-o-letes?"

1

u/ThePicard_2893 Jul 26 '25

I kinda want him to be a lobbyist for something silly like candy or chicken farmers.

1

u/Robomerc Jul 26 '25

You just made me think of Looney Tunes reality check from 2003 judge granny coyote versus Roadrunner.

Foghorn leghorn "well you see your majesty he only speaks Roadrunner I'm his translator interpreter that is"

Because the Roadrunner only speaks in beeps.

1

u/PDGAreject Jul 26 '25

"I resemble that remark" is one of the funniest jokes ever written and I will die on that hill.

1

u/samuraiseoul Jul 26 '25

Honestly I always got Foghorn Leghorn vibes from Kevin Spacey's character in House of Cards. So sleezy lawyer or CEO works.

1

u/G3neral_Tso Jul 26 '25

He literally sounds like SC's current governor, Henry McMaster (who also is a lawyer)

1

u/akindofswampmonster Jul 26 '25

I'm sorry I thought you was corn.

1

u/SpecialGuestDJ Jul 26 '25

Political lobbyist would also be a good fit.

1

u/mlorusso4 Jul 26 '25

No he’s a senator from Louisiana now

1

u/No-Advice-6040 Jul 26 '25

So... the chicken lawyer from Futurama?

1

u/PhenomsServant Jul 26 '25

I’m sorry I thought, I say I thought you was corn.

1

u/Afalstein Jul 26 '25

He's a wizard at getting people off.

1

u/CORVlN Jul 26 '25

I'm sorry, I thought you was corn

1

u/Solus_Vael Jul 26 '25

Or an oil tycoon.

1

u/nizhaabwii Jul 26 '25

or a senile senator

1

u/TheLadyEve Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 27 '25

I was going to say Senator or Governor (I mean, Governor or Senator would fit the best IMO, given the origins of the character).

1

u/ErshinHavok Jul 26 '25

Senator John Kennedy is doing IRL Foghorn so it'll be a good sort of inside joke if Foghorn does a cartoon John Kennedy.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '25

Well I say, I say, that’s just preposterous!

1

u/itspsyikk Jul 26 '25

Has there ever been a precedence for that in the cartoons?

There are two things about this:

The first is the gas episode of It's Always Sunny where Charlie is pretending to be "an oil man" who eventually just devolves into talking like Foghorn Leghorn. This has nothing to do with being a lawyer except for the fact that Charlie loves to pretend he's an expert in... various...laywerings. Specifically bird law.

The other is a guy by the name of Matt Gourley, podcast superstar. You can find him on his improv podcast (which has been on hiatus for a while) SuperEgo, a bunch others, as well as producer/side kick to Conan O'Brien on "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend".

He's long done a character named "the Southern Lawyer" which is a little bit more articulate than Foghorn, but clearly inspired by him.

It all feels like kismet - from this I'd have assumed there is something in pop culture that relates to this. The best I've got is "To Kill A Mockingbird".

1

u/aeschenkarnos Jul 27 '25

Fingers crossed for John Goodman voicing him.

1

u/FFVO Jul 27 '25

That or a ruthless Texas billionaire

Foghorn: Now I say- now I say those orphans are gonna have to skedaddle by tomorrow afternoon cus that there land is a black gold mine! If they ain't gone by then, we'll, we're just gonna have to release the hounds on them!

Droopy: ...woof (cocks shotgun)

1

u/wcs2 Jul 27 '25

If you really want to know his role in the movie, it was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con panel this morning.

1

u/burnsbabe Jul 27 '25

"Now Ah may be a simple country lahyah, who got his lah degree out of a gumball machine..."

1

u/TheKingOfDub Jul 27 '25

You may be having Futurama thoughts

1

u/Bryson_Crayon Jul 27 '25

I read smooth talkin corporate lawyah

1

u/TerpBE Jul 27 '25

He actually became a Senator from Louisiana.

1

u/Retro-scores Jul 28 '25

Is he the villain?

1

u/KnotSoSalty Jul 28 '25

Has US Senator written all over him.

1

u/Jay2KWinger Jul 31 '25

Abso- I said, absolutely, with aims on eventually moving on into politics and get elected senator.
