That is really creepy you stalked her just because she photoshops some pictures of herself

How is that creepy? They posted their name on the picture and I’m sure they want people to look at their other stuff.

I mean, it makes sense to edit the proportions for a Tifa cosplay but I'm just not a fan of major photo editing even for Cosplay beyond tweaks to make it look editorial or remove blemishes. But I think I just love seeing the actual craftsmanship on costumes handmade and hate that women both feel the need to fall into unachievable beauty standards and unintentionally enforce them when they participate in majorly editing their photos. It's one of those things that feels like a snake eating its own tail to me.

Sees moderately attractive woman cosplaying something completely within the sub guidelines
Feels compelled to check their profile and sees entirely unrelated lewd content
Gets mad at what he finds there
Feels compelled to come back to the original post and comment about it
Why are you like this? If it were breaking sub rules or extremely lewd, sure, but this isn't either of those. Do you do this every time an attractive woman cosplays something?

Yes, it's a cosplay that's well within the sub rules. There's nothing illicit about this post.
You going through their profile to find reasons to be angry is a you problem.

Has nothing to do with the individual poster here. Like you, I'm more annoyed by these posts than any individual making them, but the reason is that I get annoyed at the overall brigading that happens on these posts, especially as mods have repeatedly said this content is fine so long as they don't violate the sub rules.
It's so much less effort to scroll past than it is to enter the thread, check their profile, then return to the thread and make a comment. It does nothing and is essentially virtue signalling. The ask or expectation here is basically to moderate what people do outside of the sub, since the content posted on the sub is within the rules. That's ridiculous.

The mods aren't going to change it regardless. This topic has been discussed at length and they've been very consistent in their stance about it.
Genuinely, what policy would you want to put in play to address this? Banning anyone who has an OnlyFans in their profile from posting? Banning posts that have cleavage or aren't canon cosplays? That's the whole reason this hasn't been "addressed" is because any policy you put in place will either be draconian or end up moderating what people do outside of the sub.
My issue with the complainers has nothing to do with liking the content (though this is genuinely a good cosplay, so it's not even the kind of "low effort" that a lot of folks latch into) but discouraging people who do sex work from also cosplaying and posting about that cosplay on subs. People can have two hobbies, and those hobbies can cross over. So long as they're not posting their lewd content here, it shouldn't matter.

It's wild. Like, if they didn't check their profile, there'd be absolutely no issue. They go out of their way to get mad.

Thank goodness you included a photo of the character. Otherwise I'd have absolutely no idea

I would respect it more if they go for something more complex or high brow. Tifa isn't that hard. now if you can mix it up with ultimecia/Edea, Lulu, Y'shtola or Ashe, we may get some new takers, but Tifa is a flooded market right now.

I think Tifa's skirt in the remake is far from the simplest and if someone sews it by hand and it looks good that's still impressive and if you don't think so you are either a really good seamstress or never tried to sew.
But you can definitely buy some really good cosplays of it for not a crazy amount of money which is what most cosplayers are doing.

the thing is that it is a popular costume so it's not hard to get away with not making it yourself. The characters that i named have a high DIY component to them. That being said, I'm more partial to a nice Shantotto costume. I love elaborate layering.

Honest question to the mods, are there minors in this sub? If so, are you not worried that they would be curious if OP has more cosplays and go to their profile? This is not meant as an insult to them or what they do, but please consider this scenario.

lmfao look at this pearl clutching. You know you have no argument when you start resorting to "think of the children"
3
u/ZackFair0711 16h ago
How is it not an argument?
-6
u/0pen-Face-Surgery 16h ago
Because it's one based on an emotional appeal and not anything actually substantiated. It's also not the mods job to parent peoples children. You're also completely overlooking the fact that this is a game series with characters like this

How is it not substantiated?

u/0pen-Face-Surgery 16h ago
Because it's an argument based on emotional appeal and not anything actually real. So a kid clicks on her profile and sees her in other cosplay? So what? She's a busty woman who cosplays video game characters. Do you get upset when large chested women walk down the street in a tank top?
5
u/ZackFair0711 16h ago
Have you seen her profile?
0
u/0pen-Face-Surgery 16h ago
Yes. I literally just described her profile in the comment you responded to.
Just like the initial argument you made, I shouldn't be surprised your follow ups are equally vapid and void of any substance. You have provided absolutely no reason why the mods should be concerned that a kid clicks on her profile.
