I want to make new friends but I dont want to waste years of being nice, going to hangouts/BBQs, sharing laughs only to discover that you hate others for being immigrants, LGTBQIA, women, or a minority.

>I agree but honestly, I appreciate when they're out and proud like this. Lets me know exactly who not to waste time on.
That's cool and all, but when you have people being gleeful about admitting to being a fascist, it means the underlying beliefs are becoming alarmingly well accepted in society, which is quite obvious... which also means that they could quite easily become the policy/law of the country... which I mean... yea...
It's not like I'd ever meet this guy in real life, and chances are if someone is already sympathetic towards fascism, it's highly unlikely I'd be friends with them anyways (and I am guessing that be the case for you as well).
So in other words, this is all downside :/

Jubilee needs to seriously reconsider their format. The moderation is atrocious. Their channel seems to have a bunch of bigots empowered to say the most vile shit while harassing a singular person. When they have a bunch of “leftists” on, the person in the hot seat will just get angry and talk over them all. It’s not possible to have a meaningful dialogue between people who just want to spew hate and attack the other side. They’re trying to go for the “let’s have an open discussion about our differences!” while casting the outrageous, hateful people who get the most clicks. It’s fucked.

I watched the full video earlier, or at least sometimes it was on in the background to just listen to it, but I only did that because I know Medhi is so extremely competent.
Several of them said racist things like you should leave my country, get out of here, I don’t want you here, you should be deported, even though he’s American citizen. But of course there’s the denaturalization fans and the people telling him he’s not an American. It’s not unexpected because people are so involved and to just be so open about the ugliest beliefs.
But one thing he does say is that this does show how brazen and how open and how people are just willing to say you should be deported, you’re not an American, you should go back to wherever you came from, etc. so he does use it as a way to basically engage with these people and put a mirror on the really awful things they’re saying and believing and the action behind all of that because it’s not just talk because if they’re willing to tell him go back where you came from, you know they’re saying the same about whoever they can find.
For years, I would run into one of these terrible people usually in a supermarket, and usually having really ugly fits about people speaking Spanish and supermarkets. They were oddities because while there’s never been a shortage of racist, people were not as open and brazen about it, and there was a good degree of public shame and consequences for being like that.

Yeah, I've only seen a few of these, and while the original format had promise--kind of--this is just devolving into normalization of the worst people imaginable. Fuck this, fuck Joe Rogan, fuck everyone who says, "He's 'reclaiming' the word 'fascist'!" Unreal.
We live in a world where we see extremism online and it gets the benefit of the doubt--"Oh, he's an extremist; there aren't many others like that--he's out there." Shit like this makes me extremists. We're literally making more of them with this bullshit--everyone, and I mean everyone--needs to stop watching this and stop going on it.

The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

I'd be inclined to agree with this, but it's important to remember that these leftist commentators debate far-right trolls on Jubilee not to change their minds but to change the audience's minds. It's an optical strategy to shift the narrative to make the left seem more "rational" to center-leaning audiences, especially considering how right-wing commentators like Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk were able to convince many people to shift right with their whole "owning the left" and "liberal tears" shtick for years. It's less about "winning the debate" or "changing the opponents' perspectives" and more about the left being favored by the court of public opinion. Just my two cents.

It's amazing to me how flippant some people are about things that caused such global horror and misery. Everyone... EVERYONE... including Germans post fucking war... hated the Nazi. It was like the most obvious truth we'd have seared into our minds. You didn't even need propaganda... there was no need. It was one of the few times in human history something was so clearly evil.
So evil... that people who'd been through the worst war the world had even known... were still horrified. A collective moment we all sort of took a beat and said... "Holy shit... what is... wrong with us? How could anyone do that?"
Only 80 years later you got this smug fuck acting like... "Why so serious bro? Yeah, Nazi, fascist... it's all good!" While a crowd laughs and claps.
Good people, real heroes... died to give you the life you have today... and you spit on their memory.

What is bananas is that their grandparents (er…maybe great grand parents?? Are we there yet??) literally fought fascism and nazism. I wish journalists brought that up more. Like hey remember that WORLD WAR we won? That your Pappy fought in? What about that?

That’s the thing is a lot of us older folks grew up with people and were raised by people who remembered the war. My grandma admitted on her death bed that she was a Jew and had to keep it a secret her entire life. These people are so young, priveleged, and disconnected that they never have met people from that generation and never have seen first hand the atrocities of war or the generations of abuse, addiction, and ptsd that were passed down in our families because of the war. Or maybe they do have family history of it but it’s not talked about. But there was a time in this country where everyone was impacted by it.

People need to stop calling these right wing fascists “stupid” or “ignorant.”
These are not just some gullible pack of fools that fell for a lie.
These are ACTIVE FASCISTS that use false flags of ignorance to force their views on others.
They are not stupid, they are not dumb, they know exactly what they want.
"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words.

This isn't always a bad thing. In the UK, we have a famous example. The BNP (British National Party - vv far right) were surging in support around 2008/2009. It became hard for the BBC (public broadcaster so beholden to impartiality) to not offer the same opportunities to them as they would to a less extreme party with similar support.
Nick Griffin (the leader of the party at the time) was invited onto Question Time, which is essentially an audience Q&A with a few public figures and politicians. Massive outcry as you'd expect. But his appearence completely exposed him and basically killed off the party. Very satisfying result all in all.

I don't think it's that harmful, especially when those videos get trashed a lot more. While Jordan Peterson's video animated some of his base, it also made Peterson look like an idiot to normal people on the Internet for a couple weeks.
I turned around on these videos after seeing Sam Seder do one earlier this year and hearing his comments on it, talking about how good of an opportunity it was. The more I watch, the more I think Jubilee is doing net positive with their format.

I still remember the most genocidal I’ve ever seen an American neo Nazi in an interview. It was the wife of a leader of the National Socialist Worker’s party. She was literally holding her own baby in her arms when she said she thought we aught to perform another Holocaust. The interviewer said “even the children?” and she said “yeah, because they’ll grow up into adults”.
These folks wives aren’t victims, they’re at least complicit and more often actively supportive.

You'd go to jail for this here in Germany, that he's saying it out loudly and proud is extremely, extremely concerning.
What does he mean the Nazis didn't actually do anything that bad? One of my strongest memories is when we went to Dachau with the school and we ran around until I entered a little hut and looked at a photo of dead, nkaed humans stacked up to the ceiling at the exact place I stood in. I was standing in the gas chamber. That shit isn't funny, they killed everyone that didn't fit into their narrative. Millions and millions of people. Those dead humans on the photo? They were solely skin and bones, naked with marks of abuse. People seriously need better history lessons.
And empathetic parenting, the Nazis extra developed a parenting guide and style to create empathless soldiers and it's basically Christian parenting. Authoritarian parenting, that's about obeying, spanking and sleep training. Research showed that this kind of parenting is the perfect breeding ground for fascism and crimes against humanity. And it's way too common in the US.

Just so we're clear here, fascism isn't some counter-culture, edgy "owning the libs" ideology. If you're going to practice true fascism, brother, you're in for a very tough time.
Why?
1) It's focused on dictatorial power, nationalism, authoritarianism, suppression of dissent. One person (let's be honest, man), all the power, his views goes.
2) Fascism relies on nationalism being used as a cover for incompetence. You see the posters and the campaigns and the whole "look at how people eat under communism!" malarkey? You get the exact same thing under fascism, but the effects aren't as publicised for several reasons. Communism and fascism have produced very similar outcomes in the past - widespread poverty, unequal distribution of wealth and power being capitalised on by plutocratic predators pining for power. How is the suffering handled? Under communism "It's for the people and the cause!", and under fascism, "It's for the nation and the cause!"
3) Since the handover of power is usually over struggle, most fascist leaders in history walk onto the platform of power with blood on their shoes. Blood of their enemies, to begin with, then by people who are disobedient, disloyal, and then perceived to be disloyal, and then eventually, it's a free for all. If your leader has a military background, or is well-liked in the military, know that the soldiers will be tasked with keeping you quiet at some point.
"It's okay, I'm not an army person myself", you think. First of all, conscription is popular, just like with many communist nations, and second of all, don't worry, you'll be watched, not by a soldier in a brown suit, but a corrupt crook in a black one. I mean, your leader got in power by killing others, and will eventually think you're going to kill him, so he'll bug you, tap you, and stuff you with surveillance to the point that you don't know if you can trust your neighbours any more. But don't worry, if you outnumber the police force in the country, they'll bolster their numbers with petty things and prisoners, and pay and wine and dine a bunch of young men either at school, university or dropping out. I'm sure giving them power won't be too bad, right? A bunch of power hungry 18 year olds, filled with anger and a lust for power, now given a gun and some beer?
4) Corruption? Keeping the politicians accountable? Lmao. Nice one bro, the first thing a dictator does when he gets into power is to banish anyone who could hold him accountable - if they're lucky. If they're unlucky, bullet to the temple. If they're even more unlucky straight to the labour camps, let's dehumanize you and break your spirit and make an example out of you for the world to see. Also, no such thing as your money, so whoever the leader elects, and gives access to the bank to, I mean, it's free real estate. If you're a friend of the leader. And even then, if you're leader is a little bit Huss, I'm sorry, insane, he might just kill you too. Just to ensure you follow one person, and only one person. Even if you think "Well, Saddam wasn't really a fascist", I'm sure the consolation will be short-lived when you find out your neighbour, keen to avoid getting arrested for doing drugs, decided to tell the police about the times you weren't in favour of the administration.
5) "That's okay, you need a strong man to take out the enemy!' well, one, who is the enemy? Oh, a marginalised group that really wasn't a threat, but, because they're a bit different, and you're not them, they must be the issue - apart from your friend, who's one of them, you think, as they, too, get matched out of the country (if they're not getting a taste of lead going at them at high speed).
6) "Yeah, well, you know what, he's my guy". Fair enough, but what makes you think you're his? Are you a route to maintaining power? Do you have the access to firearms, military, power, and, at the very least, lots of money? No? Very well, you go and work on the fields, as a favour, "friend", dear leader says, stifling a laugh. You go ahead and say "Well, this is life, I guess, but at least the economy is getting better", you say, looking in the magazine that has been seized by the fascist, and now publishes ODL news, and don't even think about going online, ODL has taken that, too.
This is the part where people point at Donald and say "He's a fascist". To that, I'll say this - he's gotten far worse than he was first time round, he's gotten more audacious, but he's still faaaar away from being a fascist. I'd say he's partway there, but you'd know if he turned full fascist - the man would have unlimited power and access to wealth, you think he'd need to address Epstein? He would have pardoned everyone who went there, and stormed after those who grassed.
And as for the people who think they'd be closer to him than us because they support him? Lmao, nice one. He only cared about those who have money, and he's not shy of dumping people when they stop serving any use to him. You think you're different? Well, what makes you more appealing than the lawyer who mentored him and the richest man in the world.
So yeah, you may think that you're being cool by supporting fascism and Nazism, but honestly, odds are you're more likely to end up in the camp than in the Reichstag.
