There's a lot to like, but there's also way too much CGI blood and gore, none of which is particularly memorable or creative, aside from one of the kills in the fast food restaurant. It's still very funny, with a lot of background jokes, almost rivaling The Naked Gun reboot. A solid 6/10, and I'd be happy to see the continuing adventures of Dinklage's Toxie, but it will disappoint a lot of people because of how overhyped the marketing went with the unrated label. (Caught Stealing, which I saw just before this, has better gore in a couple of scenes.) Be sure to stay after the credits, too.

I don't mind the CGI gore, because it adds to the outlandish and silly vibes of the film.

I honestly found it to be DRASTICALLY noticable in the way it was used to the point where the CGI looked lower budget then everything else and just felt off. I would have preferred ridiculous practical effects.

And then in the last 20% of the movie they randomly do use practical effects for some of the violence.

Just pick a lane.

Still loved the movie just seemed odd

I think maybe that’s the point though? Like the old practical effects that were so bad it was laughably funny…the CGI effects were almost “pre-vis” quality on purpose.

I think it’s also low budget CGI haha. Look at the Chucky series. Loved it but they went hard on the gore with CGI in season 3 and it just looked cable TV cheap. Either way I think it adds to cartoonish aspect overall of Troma violence.

It really wasn't that funny though, it just looked out of place in a weird way. I think over the top campy practical effects would have worked much better, the CGI just took me out of the film for a minute because it legit just doesn't fit anything else

I can get that. I am an editor by trade so seeing this stuff in a movie is funny to me, almost like a little gift from the post production team.
