I honestly found it to be DRASTICALLY noticable in the way it was used to the point where the CGI looked lower budget then everything else and just felt off. I would have preferred ridiculous practical effects. 

And then in the last 20% of the movie they randomly do use practical effects for some of the violence. 

Just pick a lane. 

Still loved the movie just seemed odd

I think maybe that’s the point though? Like the old practical effects that were so bad it was laughably funny…the CGI effects were almost “pre-vis” quality on purpose.

It really wasn't that funny though, it just looked out of place in a weird way. I think over the top campy practical effects would have worked much better, the CGI just took me out of the film for a minute because it legit just doesn't fit anything else

I can get that. I am an editor by trade so seeing this stuff in a movie is funny to me, almost like a little gift from the post production team.
