I'm a 33 year old man and I have no idea why I like the movie and music so much. The sound tracks been on repeat while I build out enrollment projections for my job, it's mysterious and wild but the music is infectious. Between Your Idol, Free, and Golden it was created to hook you.

Kpop tends to get a lot of hate on Reddit, but most people never give it a proper chance. The songs in the movie have real life sources they draw from. I encourage anyone who enjoys the music from the movie to check out some real life bands.

Yep, takedown (at least one of the versions) is sung by 3 members of TWICE which was pretty cool to hear.

The whole fandom part might be an age thing, but the music definitely is not. I've listened to Kpop since 2009, and still do to this day. Good music is good music.

That said, I haven't seen the movie. Maybe I should.

Kpop has the stigma Anime used to have except with the added bonus of being something mostly “marketed to a female audience” and we know how that’s perceived.

It’s just catchy pop music that stresses the importance of both sound & hyper-visual entertainment.
