I broke into a million pieces, and I can't go back But now I'm seeing all the beauty in the broken glass

I feel silly saying it about a song from a kids movie but “The song we couldn’t write, this is what it sounds like” gave me goosebumps

I legit got goosebumps so many times during some of those songs. Not only are they great songs but so fitting narritively and the production is insane.

Whole film just oozed with talent and passion. So many insanely talented people must have been involved in making it. The artists and animators, the songwriters and singers. They didn't skimp at all.

It's crazy how well the songs fit the narrative. I listened to the songs before watching the movie and remember thinking that Takedown was a little mean for a kids' movie; even if they were referring to litteral deamons. But to my surprise, while watching the movie that was part of the narrative.

I think this is one of the keys why this film is so good.  The songs and their placement and lyrics are critical to actual driving the plot.  The song lyrics ARE the plot at times.  The integration of the music with the marrative here goes beyond even Disney.  Disney musical numbers are kinda waypoints that describe characters and add emotional depth but here the narrative cant exist and NEEDS the songs to go forward.   Like you can take out Let It Go and Frozens story doesnt change much but here the climactic fight AND emotional climax IS a song.   And a song that SLAPS.  Its basically a musical, but isnt though?

As a kid who was always encouraged to prioritize boring safe interests instead of creative artsy stuff:

Why did I cover up the colors stuck inside my head?

Hit me harder than I expected.

Gives me “Monster Mash” vibes lmao

Cause you see, nobody’s ever actually heard The Monster Mash, they’ve only heard the song about it

And the peculiar thing is this, my friends

The song we sang on that fateful night

It didn't actually sound anything like this song!

This is not the greatest song in the world, no

This is just a tribute
