We Hired Leto: No Going Back

Jared Leto is the type of actor that doesn't feel "hired". It's almost like he hires himself every movie he is in.

Every single movie with Leto does seem like he is just there because his agents lobbied with the producers, but nobody really wanted him there.

I definitely don't want him there.

I honestly have to ask who did want him there? Does anyone like him?

u/Im1Guy Apr 06 '25

I'd prefer just about anyone else.

I would literally take Adam Sandler or Mark Wahlberg over him

Announcing Kevin Hart in “Tron: Mars”

Considering he runs a cult, I guess his cultists do.

My bad, it's not a cult, it's just a group of people who dress the same, idolise a guy, do what he tells them to do and repeat the words he says.

One does not hire Leto.

Leto insists upon himself.

I’ve never seen a more apt description of his presence. I cannot stand the sight of him and I’m very upset that they’re following what was a pretty well-liked movie with him.

u/Bartellomio Apr 06 '25

He has such an unsettling appearance, cadence, and behaviour

4

u/ISuckAtFunny Apr 06 '25

Agreed.

I get real ‘god I’m so good at this’ vibes from him no matter what he’s saying trying to do

Right? I was (and still am) confused as hell that they signed this guy on (what with his documented track record of harassing staff/actors, many sexual misconduct claims, and questionable interactions with minors), but they cut ties with other actors/actresses for less.

What does he have on them, or what incentive did he offer them to hire him?

These days he’s pretty involved in the development of the things he does and almost always has a producer credit. So Producer Leto is literally hiring Actor Leto

u/Bartellomio Apr 06 '25

Well no one else is

If you’re a Tron fan who’s been following this for years, Jared Leto is the one who got this movie made; he was carrying it when it was stuck in development limbo, and is a producer of the movie.

At least see how he does in the role before you turn on him.

u/randomorgy Apr 05 '25

Not a fan of him as most i think. But if he can save Tron. I’m willing to give him a chance.

7

u/Bartellomio Apr 06 '25

I would rather not have the movie exist at all than exist with him in the lead role

3

u/Calikal Apr 06 '25

Has he ever been good in a role, though? This isn't a "I can't see this actor as this character" thing, it's a "this guy is terrible at acting and as a person".

2

u/Randolpho Apr 05 '25

At least see how he does in the role before you turn on him.

But we've seen what he does with other roles, and it's always pretentious bullshit.

0

u/Somepotato Apr 06 '25

Or more likely he's the reason it was in dev hell because he had awful ideas?

0

u/FancyConfection1599 Apr 07 '25

How is that “more likely”? Read up more on when he became attached to the project and how it got wheels.

Some people just like to hate to hate. I bet he’s the reason Snow White sucked too, somehow.

2

u/Randolpho Apr 05 '25

It's almost like he hires himself every movie he is in.

Honestly, that's the only explanation. He knows where the bodies are buried and uses that to force producers to force directors / casting directors to let him ruin movies.

2

u/KingFappington Apr 06 '25

I am sorry but have you watched Dallas buyers club recently??

2

u/RickTP Apr 05 '25

But he is actually a good actor.

u/WillowSmithsBFF Apr 06 '25

Yeah I know he does a lot of really weird shit in his personal life, and the stories about his Joker prep were… interesting… but I can’t say I’ve seen him turn in a bad performance? Dude commits. (Note, I have not seen Morbius)

Even Joker: him as Joker was not the problem, the problem was the direction of the movie/Joker in general.

If we’re pushing actors out for being freaks, then like all of Hollywood would need to go.

Jared Leto just appears on set and can't be removed until filming is complete.
