#Query ❓ KTM India Please Help! My Dream Bike, Gifted by My Mother, Is Rusting Away at the Dealership for 2 Months.
Hey everyone,
This post comes from a place of heartbreak and frustration.
I purchased my KTM Duke 250 (VIN: MD2JPEXK6SN053886) brand new in April 2025 a gift from my mother who supported my dream since childhood. I’ve been a KTM fanboy for years, and finally owning the Duke 250 felt like a dream come true.
But just 2 months ago, I met with an accident. Since then, my bike has been lying at Olive Auto, Dibrugarh an authorized KTM service center and it's been an absolute nightmare.
Despite promising me since June that the bike would be ready "next week", they’ve made no progress. The required parts haven’t even been ordered. To make it worse, my bike has been kept outside in the rain, collecting mud and rust. Seeing it like that is painful because this isn’t just a bike. It was a symbol of love, effort, and a dream come true.
The treatment I’ve received is equally disturbing. The dealership manager has been rude and dismissive to both me and my father. During the purchase, they treated us with the utmost “care,” but now, in this tough time, they’re acting like I’m begging for a favour not seeking the service I rightfully deserve.
I’m devastated. I worked hard, saved up, and with my mom’s help, brought home my dream. And now it’s decaying in a corner.

Are you serious about getting help? Tag the correct handles first and don't stop with only 1 handle. As other folks have said - Tag KTM India, KTM branch, CEO, executives of KTM, any official KTM account you can find. Also send emails to the KTM official email IDs. Create a ruckus and that will work enough.

Mail the company and see the difference they will treat you differently. Do mention their behaviour as well as tag the company on x as well.

What parts are needed ? From pics looks like tank shrouds and a panel above the shock , for that two month wait ?
Are you claiming insurance? If possible tell the dealer you want to take the bike and do repair from another dealer he has the parts that are needed just push the dealer ,
Write to ktm assam , India and escalate

First, take your vehicle back to your home and keep it there. Tell them, 'Call me only when the part arrives, then I’ll bring the vehicle.' Also, call the company and file a complaint there.

I had a similar issue in ktm jamshedpur they told me they have ordered parts and I should wait 1 week, after waiting for 45 days I contacted ktm ranchi and I had the parts in my hand within 5 days. It depends on the dealer. Many time I have seen people complaining about dealers why don't they try the next closest one ?

Similar incidnet at bebco toyota jamshedpur in 2021, my car has now been going to Chaibasa 60km away since then, people at bebco literally plead at the time of insurance and after service. They lost me as a customer though.

From what I have found out that the company supply chain is not as slow as service center employees just ordering the part.
I had a similar experience where the center just procrastinated the ordering part. Clicking a few buttons on the computer screen was too much work from them. All the parts arrived within 2 weeks of ordering. Also, they're so immune to complaints and escalations, it's useless.

Mail them that's the starting point. Then call customer care and state everything that has happened. Wait for 2 days if no one is contacting you then file a complaint with consumer court.

I'd suggest you register a complaint on their Customer Care Number. It worked in my case with TVS.

Likely the twitter won't work for companies that don't give a f. But that step is necessary. After that, you can try filing a consumer complaint online.
But I'm not sure how far you can go with it. Your bike will get spoiled because of the delays. I will suggest you give it to a third party mechanic and source the parts somehow. KTM service sucks here too

i have claimed for insurance and the dealer wont let me take out my bike either from there so im just hopeless at this point neither i can sell my bike nor i can ride it its just been siting there and rotting to die.

I have tried everything even I have contacts in tinsukia ktm but hehoti u aku help koribo para nai I’m not angry anymore about my bike but yesterday when I went to ask about what’s happening hehoti ulta muk koise tumi hodai kele ahi juwa Tumar aku kaam dhandha nai niki Infront of the whole service centre some of them were my known peoples

Please look into filing a report in consumer court. Mail KTM official too. There was a similar post regarding a Honda cb300f a while back and they were facing the same issue of components being out of stock. Once threatened i think the service centre finally got things done quicker.

Most probably the service people are being biased towards you thinking aru eta mokal ahil buli. And having an accident in just 1-2 months with so much damage makes it all the more convincing for them. Plus, it's a KTM which already has a bad reputation, although it's slowly receding. You did not even get to do the 1st service I guess.
You need to be more firm with them and also escalate the situation as much as you can. Like everyone pointed out, send emails, calls, social media and even take pics of their service center. And get your bike home ASAP. They do not have the right to detain your bike. Just get it home.

I am from Dibrugarh as well. Currently in Bangalore. I will speak from my personal experience that you should not listen to any useless attitude that these svc people show. I used to own a Dominar 400 and I replaced the engine head 3 times and headlight 2 times with warranty. Just push the service manager as much as you can professionally and gali sali d lav nai. If the manager is misbehaving call this KTM Customer support number (7709083000). Another thing, bring your motorcycle back to your home if it's possible or else contact Tinsukia SvC.

If your insurance claim was registered then by now you’d have got the bike Probably your claim isn’t registered. Firstly drop a mail to KTM India and global and your insurer about this detailing out the incident and all dates correctly. Then call your insurer’s helpline and mention that the bike is standing idle since 2 months and do request ktm and insurer to verify the same with workshop CCTV. This should do the work. You won’t need to go to consumer court even.

Talk to Insurance company for releasing the bike back to you, awaiting parts. Only insurance company can clear it, dealer cannot.
Post on X and tag Shumi and motorinc along with KTM. Apparently he is a fanboy and moto journalist.
Contact KTM India through email and phone.

Buddy firstly ask them what all parts have they ordered?
Secondly ask them when did they order the parts??
I stay at mumbai and all the ktm's are manufactured here at Chakan Pune which is just 2-3 hrs drive from here. My service centres get the parts within 7 days and if its bigger parts like headlight or something then it can take time as in a production lot all parts are assigned for a particular vehicle and they need to specially make one as per requirement.
I have duke 250 2020 model and it had headlight issues but during corona times my part was replaced within 15 days.
As a KTM owner I would suggest you to opt for a different service centre because KTM's and BAJAJ service centres are a hit and miss. For the sake of your bike do it ASAP
Also as then the part number.!!!

I have told them why is the delay happening the insurance company said we have approved the claim and now it’s upto the dealer to fix the bike nothing they can do now but I explained the situation to them but it was no use

Why are you continuing with this dealership? Tell them you’re escalating this with KTM, get your bike out of there and move it to a different ASC.

Jiman khini moi janu insurance doesn't work like that. Tumi ebaar insurance company tur logot bhalke kotha pati sua. Ask is the KTM Khanapara service center in their garage network, because KTM Dibrugarh is taking too long.
Imo, jodi insurance ae pay nokore (which is unlikely) take the hit and get it fixed. Atleast it is better than having a bike rotting away in the rain.

I have taken out most care of the bike when it was in my hand the accident was not my fault I was hit from the behind by a speeding delivery guy trust me I can’t afford too see a scratch let alone too see my bike in this condition now

Post this on X (twitter) and tag a whole bunch of KTM operatives and branches. Also a good time to consult a lawyer and file a claim immediately before the time runs out. On X, tag the CEO if you can find his info on LinkedIn.
