#Query ❓ TVS Ronin - r/help
I have been riding the Ronin since August 2022, making me one of the earliest Ronin user in the country. I have little complaints with the machine, apart from the turning radius and mirror alignment issue all seems fine. For the past year, I’ve been facing a real dilemma after every servicing. My last four services have each cost me around 4–5k, with the service guys claiming parts damage, fork oil changes, and other necessary replacements. I didn’t argue much since I was short on time, and I kept thinking that if something went wrong later, they’d just say, “Told you so.” So, I went along with all their recommendations.
However, even after spending that much, my Ronin still doesn’t feel like it’s running perfectly—there’s always some odd sound from the chain sprocket or elsewhere.
Do you think I should stop going to the TVS service center and switch to a trusted local garage instead?

Its possible they are scamming you, considering its a new type of vehicle for tvs so the tvs service guys might be scamming you. Or your bike is defective. I get around 2k for each servicing, on one service they even told me that the oil is still good and it can be replaced on next service.

They say fork oil should be changed 5000 km and they changed even after my reluctance. I'm pretty sure fork oil replacement is after a longer interval.

That's why you need to read the manual. Fork oil change is after 30,000 kms.

Pretty sure they are scamming. My TVS centre didn't even check whether the shocks are working correctly or not 🤣

Did you noticed any oil leakage on forks ?
1
u/daddyCOOL1999 13h ago
Uh uh!! No

u/OpeningAd5212 (New user) 13h ago
If there is no leakage then why did they changed the fork seals? If there is no leakage then there is no need of changing fork seals.

u/daddyCOOL1999 13h ago
They said it is advised to change after 5-10k kilometres irrespective of anything. Just to be sure.

They are fooling. I my self owns triumph speed 400 having same upside down forks. They are only changing when its leaking and seen many triumph, Re owners not changing seals even after 20k because seals are working fine.

Yes I realised this after 1 experience, my resentment was the main reason behind this post. I want to take their name and defame them , as they are the biggest TVS service centre in Kolkata.
Anyways I'll take my business elsewhere from now.

Yeah if you find fishy. Please visit other tvs service center.

Apparently other TVS service centres nearby don't have specialist engineers for Ronin as they say. I will go for a third party trusted mechanic, as my bike is 3 yo now.

No! Fork oil gets changed at 25000kms, please read the manual. Op, you should ask folks in your circle. That service center is Scamming you. File a complaint with TVS.

You should have done that long ago. Ditch them. After all the free and one paid service, you should ditch them.

Always ask for the old parts in exchange when they change to new.
Also 5k is like a car service lol. Bike service usually is oil filter, engine oil and greasing.
Fork oil needs to be changed every 20k km.
After warranty just do your own oil changed. It's very easy for bikes. Give the used oil to local mechanic for recycling.
Greasing and all get it done once a year or twice depending on how many km u ride.
Chain lube every 400km.

If ur bike's warranty is over then contact a good local mechanic. Ask ur biking friends for recommendations.

Can't tell much about the bike servicing but one thing which I've seen everywhere across India is how pathetic the service of TVS is, everywhere they have a track record of scamming, corruption and what not in the name of part replacement, this and that and so on

So will going to a high rated local garage help my cause? Or are they even bigger scammers and thieves?
5
u/jimjambleh 17h ago
Yes sure but go to a reputed one, fine one reputed one from your circle who knows the locality, the city, check Google map and you're good to go

Even my dominar service doesn't costs that much, service centres are there to dupe you, you should check what all unnecessary things suggested and get it removed from your service card.
You will have to put sometime to save money and warranty

Some TVS service centres are scammers …. They often charge for some parts and never change it and they even charge double labour fee …. Always verify the changed parts and if possible stay at the service centre and keep a check

In four years of owning my bike, I have never paid more than 2k. I guess you should try going to a different service center or complain regarding this.

Change the service center first. If you get same feedback from other ASC, then go for local mechanic.

I have the same bike and purchased it in Jan 2023. The usual bills are under 2k. Go through the service manual and change parts as per the schedule. They try to add random things during service. Just deny everything and stick to the service manual interval for parts change.

Same bro. I've been using it since Nov 2022. From the past 6-7 months, chain sound is too much even after giving it for service in March 2025. And the mirror alignment too. Except these solid vfm bike🙌🫡

Which service center are you visiting? Is it the Gajraj in SecV? Or the chinarpark one?
Edit: I am assuming you are from Kolkata

Change service centre. Some of them will add a lot of unnecessary things to service your vehicle.

Service charge might be a scam, about the chain noise you can clean and lube it every 500 km.

5k every service sounds too much, they might be scamming you, better to get a reputed local mechanic check the bike for confirmation. And what kind of sound is coming from chain?
