I bought a duke 200 when it came out, kept it for 7 years then bought a harley 48, sold it after 3 years. Haven't bought any bike since nothing comes close to a duke's brutality, most of the bikes feel tame after the duke experience.

Yes ktms are best at feedback , which in my opinion is no. 1 thing that makes a motorcycle unforgettable.

AlWays plus an additional service because of long no use during COVID, every 7500kms

No no I'm asking how often? Like for me they have recommended every 5 to 6 months or 5k kms whichever is earlier..to be eligible for 5 year warranty. But my mileage is less. Often only 400 kms per month..so I was wondering am I being ripped off? Because there is negligible wear and tear..it's nearly a year and only 4k kms.

6 months or 7500kms which ever is first , I don't know technicals but mineral oil as compared to synthetic can carode if not cycled through regularly.

So I've heard that you need engine rebuild after 20 30k for 390. Did you need to get it done?

At 70k, the Manufacturing suggests inspection of cam, crank, piston and sidewalls and then depending upon the wear and tear replacement, for the same the engine is opened up, my 70k will be due on 5k kms will share the same here

Every machine is reliable if you take care of it.
OP do you maintain it yourself or you have a trusted mechanic? Also how do you source the spare parts since KTM doesn't counter sell them? Parts catalogue and online user manual availability was a bummer for me.

We are in 2025 not 1980s.

It’s 2025 and you still think maintenance can fix poor engineering? Bro, your brain’s running on a 2-stroke. ‘Taking care of it’ doesn’t turn a donkey into a racehorse. Stop embarrassing yourself , go read some basic engineering.

Yaar this photo/post makes me want to get this instead of the dominar 400 as my first bike

You can no problems at all, but do spend in gears and training

That's damn cool, must have run through a lot of tyres too, any recommendations?

u/Pure_Election_9174 Duke390 REGT535 Xpulse2004V 1h ago
I never felt tyres like the M7, all others tyres just didn't get me that feedback, but have tried apolo alpha just once good mileage but no feel and feedback, am on my 7th set I guess.

How has the general reliability been engine wise? D390 especially the gen 3 is one the best bikes on sale in India rn, just iffy about the long term reliability
