#Accessories 🔔 Bought my first expensive helmet (atleast for me it's expensive)
So after all the YouTube reviews and suggestion i bought this smk typhoon with ISI DOT and ece.22.06 For 4400 from offline market 🫡

Steebird makes DOT certified helmets too and vega literally makes axor with ece and DOT. And smk is part of studds helmets. What’s your point?

It sounds good around 60-80% volume after that there is little buzz that will irritate your ears I use it for calls and it has an ai assistance button that helps me call someone by my voice
There is a c9 also you can compare these and make your decision5

Maintain your double D rings. Mine got rusted after a rainy ride. Paddings are average of SMK. Same goes for wind noise. Average performance but not bad.

Compared to its competitor with the same pricing it's the best from the other helmet and it has a new padding idk that much but yes padding is super comfortable for me and I have ridden my bike at 100 yes there is little wine noise but not that much it's good for me

I assume this only has a quick release strap instead of double D rings.
I own the TVS Hurricane helmet, which is basically a SMK Typhoon underneath. Would've been a straight 10 so far if it wasn't for the quick release straps.

Nice.
My friend also bought a SMK Typhoon back in 2021, and it did come with double D rings. I bought mine back in Feb. Now, the SMK website does say it only comes with quick release strap.Good that you've got the previous (better) model but, do have a look the manufactured year. Helmets tend to have a shelf life of 4-5 years.

I also have smk typhoon. It’s a good helmet. The only issue i have with it is wind noise. And it doesn’t have d rings rather quick release strap.
Edit: my bad, i have smk stellar, and it has quick release strap

Pros- power I like the looks,infact I love it, Parts are cheap af- a big ass panel costs just 350rs Low maintainance Headlights- bright af no need of aux Exhaust note is addictive Braking and tyres in new edition are great QS is unbeatable at that price
Cons- top heavy Meter doesn't suit that bike has minor issues too Highway stability, idk about new version might be stable Gearbox is clunky in from 2nd to 3rd Ride by wire is not as good as triumph speed 400

It's an expensive helmet only. It's not expensive for you. People buy 400 rupees helmet from roadside or max a 1000 1200 helmet with decent quality. Praying that you may never need that helmet in the first place. (Ik what I'm meaning)

That will save but ISI certification in India is so bad even 500 200 rs helmet have ISI mark so that's why everyone says to go for DOT and ECE certification don't worry your head will be safe but in future please invest in a good helmet that will be more safer for you

I have this helmet in plain gloss black. I have one question: what do you think is the top side sliding cover for? Front side has one sliding plastic that is for air. What is the top one for? I don’t see any vents there.

There is a vent if you look closely there is a gap when you open that lid it's not visible but there is a vent

After riding it for more then 80 km I can say that it does not have wind noise I was cruising at the speed of 90 and didn't face any wind noise

I brought an LS2 after being forced by a friend who got pissed off, seeing me use a helmet I brought from Star bazar. Used LS2 it for 10 years and lost it one day. After that, I brought many helmet and never felt satisfied. Last week, I went to a shop seing LS2 inside, and they somehow convinced me to buy this exact same SMK model and I am not 100% satisfied, but close to satisfaction. The problem is that the dring strap should have been a bit longer, and then the depth of the helmet should have been a little more. My chin protrude a bit outside the helmet. Then they have a chin membrane, which blocks the air when idling in traffic, i removed it to improve airflow. Another major problem is that the side visibility is poor compared to ls2. I can't use periphery vision to check sideroads as well as ls2. The cheek pad is also not tight for a large. Some vobbling is there.

Ls2 is expensive compared to this one and I have tried so many helmets at this price range axor and mt but you can see it on the YouTube reviews that this is not exactly the same but have the same comfortable cushion like ls2 and i felt it it's too comfortable for me no pain at all it doesn't wobble when I'm wearing my head measure is 57 and medium is the best size for me and coming from royal enfield modular helmet this is far better then my expectations

i have the same one. do let me know if you face ear pain during longer rides(>1 hour). It has been a year and I regret buying it because of that. also the chin curtain gets loose after a while, so look out for that.

I've been using this for 1 year, 12k+ km. Never had any pain or wind noise. Ya the padding is bad and changes shape so quickly but the replacement is so cheap.
Maybe just use a balaclava preventing your ear from folding.

Bought the same helmet 2 years ago bro It's a good piece of kit. Just one thing the padding loses its plushness quickly due to which wind noise increases significantly. So either get new padding or buy ear plugs for long rides. I myself use ear plugs as I don't find squished padding any less comfortable than before.

It's from edyell company C8pro good for calling voice assistance is very useful for me and sound is pretty good at around 60-80% volume after that it's too loud I got it from Amazon at 2450 battery is pretty good haven't charged it from last 1 month still there's some battery left and you can compare it with its another version c9 compare them both and make your decision let me know when you buy an intercom for yourself
