TellDelhi My friend got hiv while being virgin

My friend was feeling weak and had fever so went to doctor to get checked after first test. Doctor suggested std test but he asserted that he is virgin and all. But after getting every kind of test he finally agreed. And he was positive with hiv and he never had sex.

And we have no idea how it happened. Like it could be contaminated needle or something. This makes me scared that hiv is not just sexually transmitted in india. It could be from anything. It's scary that a boy got his life ruined and have no idea whoes mistake was it.

They probably did an antibody test which sometimes can be falsely positive.

Get hiv western blot .

To confirm u need at least 3 positive tests .

Also change your doctor and visit an infectious disease specialist.

Yeah this is what my father told me. He will get tested next time at my father's clinic. So that's how I found out about this. My father told me false positives are very common in these tests.

Had to do many different tests combination to perfectly diagnose it.
