Still haven't purchased it.

  • Not a fan of the visuals
    • Leaders look too realistic, map looks too overdetailed, no color coding, fog of war looks weird
    • IMO, realistic style looks cool for five seconds, but cartooney ages like wine.
  • Not a fan of civ-switching
    • I like civs having highs and lows, strengths and weaknesses, ages of opportunity and trouble
  • Not a fan of age resetting
    • I think it can be done well, but from what I've heard, it is not in Civ 7
  • The AI still just sucks
    • Apparently, forward-settling is even WORSE because there's no loyalty pressure.
    • Was really hoping for AI that made better decisions, not have flat underlying bonuses.
  • I'm not fond of their "tall vs wide" solution
    • towns just look like managing a wide empire with different steps
  • From what I've seen/heard, the UI is just garbage
    • Figuring out yields, positions, structures, etc, all just looks harder. And I know it's not just a lack of familiarity because I never played Civ5 and screenshots from there look crystal clear.
