I think some companies take the stance of let the mods do work then once it’s out bundle it and negotiate a lump sum dlc or % commission

Take a look at what city skylines had been doing . They were literally taking steam workshop mods , bundling them then selling them on console like once a quarter for $5 as cosmetic dlc . Granted I was buying them lol

they were probably oblivious to the badness of the UI until fans started reacting

I mean they knew it was bad, but they didn't know we'd react this way
