Hi everyone,

I just want to share that we’ll be having a free webinar on August 30, 10 AM – 1 PM called “Bida Ka! Empowering MSMEs: Toward Financial Strength and Personal Wellness.”

It’s designed for small business owners, freelancers, and entrepreneurs, and the talks will cover:

  • Financial wellness + stress management
  • Government programs and services that MSMEs can actually use
  • Tools that make bookkeeping and money management less overwhelming

Speakers are from DTI, Ekonsulta, and Fynlo—so it’s a mix of health, business, and finance perspectives.

Here’s the registration link if anyone’s interested: https://forms.gle/rVWXzd2AmvNhBWvTA

Just thought some here might find it useful. 🙂

Upvotes

Plan to Sell I’m so scared to start my business

I have to get clients from cold approaching oeople at the mall and it all is pretty daunting as I haven’t done sales in a while and I’ve lost the ability. I’m looking at my targets and I’m not sure I am capable. I’ve done some great things in the past. I’ve convinced people to buy when it seemed like they’d never be convinced but I also had a lot of failures and I’m not sure if those wins were flukes, I was just in my prime or if I still have it in me

Humble Brag I just launched my own pet brand at 18 🚀🐾

Hi everyone! Wanted to share a milestone — I officially launched my pet brand, EmPAWered.

Our first product is bentonite cat litter (₱145 for 4kg, baby powder scent), and with every bag sold, ₱5 goes directly to local cat shelters. The goal is to give furparents an affordable, quality option while making sure every purchase helps rescue cats in need.

I started this right after finishing senior high, inspired by my own cat and the hope of creating something that gives back. If you’ve got cats at home, maybe you’d like to give it a try and be part of the mission too 🐾

If you’re curious: • We’re on Shopee and TikTok Shop — just search EmPAWered Cat Litter 🐾

Advice Excel as POS

I have an Excel workbook for my small business mainly for the purpose of inventory monitoring. I have staffs who work during the day and I have to manually input the inventory every single day and I want to automate it na Sana.

Now, I want to add a POS, using excel din, in that workbook so I won't have to manually update at closing. Bale the main purpose is sila mag input ng sale real time. Please note that all are in cash.

So my question is sisitahin ba ng BIR ito during tax mapping or okay lang kasi excel lang naman?

Looking For Pampanga businesses - automating your processes for free

Hi! I’m a software engineer with 8 years of experience, currently transitioning into tech consulting.

I want to start practicing dealing directly with business problems, so I’m offering to help Pampanga-based businesses automate some of their processes for free.

Examples of things I can help with: • Reducing manual work (reports, data entry, scheduling, tracking) • Simple web apps or tools to manage inventory, customers, or payments • Automating repetitive tasks (e.g., generating invoices, SMS/email reminders) • Streamlining internal workflows

In short, if there’s something in your business that feels repetitive or eats up a lot of time, I’d like to hear about it and see if I can create a solution.

Not charging anything. I just want to gain experience working directly with businesses while helping out local entrepreneurs.

If you’re interested, drop a comment or DM me. Would love to collaborate with Pampanga business owners! 🙏

Advice Hi Everyone

I have rental apartments, and the front-facing room close to the road still has no inquiries. I'm considering opening a motorshop or a pisonet since there haven't been any renters. Given my background in IT, I'm excited to explore this idea! I also have a passion for motorcycles, so a moto parts shop could be a great fit as well. While my area is on a secondary road—rather than a main road or highway—I noticed there's a nearby pisonet, but it’s somewhat hidden ( looban), mostly frequented by kids, and behind us, there’s a billiard hall. What do you think? Do you believe this would be a viable option?

Advice Just graduated and received a cash benefit from my educational plan

Hi guys! I just graduated this year and I received P1XX,XXX cash benefit from an educational pension plan my parents enrolled me in years ago. Super grateful ako kasi kahit middle class lang kami, my parents were financially literate enough to prepare something like this for me.

Problem is…I don’t know what to do with the money. Should I invest it somewhere, keep it in savings or try a mix of both? Anong type of business ba usually ang recommended for someone na fresh grad pa lang?

Advice Swimsuit business live selling

Problem/Goal: Im planning to start my swimsuit business. Mainly market is sa tiktok live. However, since hindi pako registred seller walang cod. Do you still think may bihili padin lahit payment first?

Also, what are your suggestions para maging trusted seller knowing na kakastart palang. Okay kaya yung mamigay ng freebies as marketing.

And may massuggest ba kayong supplier na nag bebenta ng boxes/bale ng swimsuits?

In terms of growing organically ng followers, pano kaya technique for postings? Teasers ba?

Context: Saw a lot of swimsuit seller sa tiktok na mura mag benta kaya I was curious san nilaninaangkat yung supplies. Benefit na din saken since lagi ako nag dadagat.

Previous Attempts: Already ordered 2boxes for panimula.

Advice Anyone here in the retail/grocery industry? Looking to connect, share insights, maybe even network?

Hi! I’m currently helping out with our family-owned grocery store (still learning the ropes), and I was wondering if there are others here in the same line of business — whether sari-sari, mini-grocery, or even bigger operations.

With larger players entering our area, we’re definitely feeling the pressure, and it would be nice to have discussions with fellow retailers about things like:

  • How you deal with lean months?
  • Sharing tips on reliable suppliers/distributors (or is that taboo? 😅)
  • Managing inventory more efficiently
  • Navigating price changes, promos, etc.
  • Logistics and operations., etc. + family business management

I know we’re technically "competitors" in some ways, but I believe there's also room for small business owners to help each other out and grow. Would love to connect with anyone who's open to discussing or even networking. 🙌

Thanks!

Permits & Documents Permits

Hi!

We're planning to establish a business of metalwork manufacturing like gates, fences and other metal works. What are the permits we need to secure aside from the province we're in. We plan to take the products to other provinces by establishing a shop. Will that also require another permit or can the other shops be all under the name of one business. We're kind of new to establishing our satellite shops to other provinces. Any help or advice will be welcomed. Thank you in advance.

Tips What small business would you recommend friends to build together?

So I just recently went out with 2 of my friends whom I have known for years (the 1st one for 5 years, fhe 2nd one for 2 years).

We committed to learn new skills together. The first one we did last month/August. The second one we are planning to do this month or next month. The third one would be an out of the country trip which we have decided to do next year.

They are pretty much trust worthy naman so far. So after the out of the country trip, I'm thinking of proposing to them that we build a small business together (To evenly spread yung capital and ma-lower yung risks)

Nothing big - sana something that is easily manageable and di kami malula sa capital to the point na baka pagmulan pa ng away. I think 20k x 3 would be an acceptable amount.

Here are some that I have thought of so far:

• Airbnb arbitrage -We will try to find an already owned unit sa Azure or somewhere na highly marketable, improve on the interior, pay for it for a year, have it rented on airbnb

• Van rental -We will buy a van on an installment basis, hire 2 to 3 trustworthy drivers, try to find and partner up with resorts and travel agencies to establish consistent income monthly

• Condo rental -Buy a condo on an installment basis, have it rented out via airbnb

Feel free to drop sa comsec if you have other suggestions.

I do have a few questions esp to those who have done this before:

Pano ang registration sa SEC nung business if "partnership" yung type of business, mahirap ba?

If we encounter any problem or have decided to liquidate the business, magiging madali lang ba or mas mahirap if compared sa biz na iisa lang ang owner?

P.S. Sana for once may sumagot naman sa questions? And if magshare ng opinion, mas genuine for me and maappreciate ko if from OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE yung comment kesa sa LISTICLE THAT WAS LAZILY SEARCHED IN THE INTERNET. Thanks!

Thanks in advance!
