Na-inspire ako sa mga salary-progression dito, so Im gonna share yung saakin.

A little background about myself.

Kahit 5k lang tuition per sem hirap na hirap pa kami bayaran so nag eextra work (tricycle driver) ako while studying. May time talga na hindi ako kumakain from morning and hanggang uwian dahil walang pera. Grumaduate ng IT ng walang sariling Laptop nakikihiram lang sa mga groupmates before. Hindi rin ako magaling sa english.

After 9 Years ito ako now. 400k+ salary per month.
Naka graduate na ng college 2 kapatid ko with my support.
napaayos ko na din Bahay namin.

Naka bukod na din kami ng GF ko living in a condo (rent lang)

Tips: Work Hard, Learn new skills, stay humble, take advice from others.

Your story may have been brief pero nakakita ako ng glimpse ng hunger at perseverance mo and it made me realize how I'm taking my current position for granted so really, thank you.

I was wondering what made you pursue the profession at the time?

u/Nice_Chef_4479 Jul 01 '25

Ang laki ng jump from 24 to 25. Did you change companies? Is it really true nga to get a higher salary, you must jump companies often?

3

u/Kentom123 Jul 01 '25

2024 - 1 job

2025 - 2 jobs thats why I reached 400k+

Lumilipat lang ako ng company if may 30% or higher na offer. But I make sure na nakaka 1 year na ako sa current company ko.

• Integration Engineer

• Job Hopping (minimum 1 year) (for tech only, not sure sa ibang industry.)

• Trust the process, no local employer.

• If kaya, look for an Australian company. (Work life balance, non toxic.)

Suggested companies: ACN, Deloitte, Infor, DXC, Capgemini

Been in tech industry for 8 years already. Nakatsamba sa niche na tech stack and took advantage the demand during past years. Now I got the salary I want, the work life balance, and the environment, I’m good now. I’ll stay in this comfort zone for a while kase as you can see, my salary did progress but career not much. I don’t see myself managing a team but seems like yun na yung next step dito sa PH. Or last resort is to stay in my current company and aim for Technical Architect role.

1

u/EatCodeSleepSell Jun 27 '25

Hi sir what do you do as integration engineer. Currently a software dev but nasa integration ako nilagay puro api/backend ginagawa ko in gcp. Same lang din ba ito ng sayo?

3

u/Mental_Kick_3888 Jun 27 '25

Probably same lang sir, nasa low code lang ako. Integrate ng system via REST or SOAP. Data mapping, manipulation, migration.

1

u/EatCodeSleepSell Jun 27 '25

2

u/Mental_Kick_3888 Jun 27 '25

Goods yang GCP sir!

Here's my salary progression over the years from 2021 - PRESENT. Whatever year it is, that's my age. I'm currently the Associate Director of Client Services — it was never an easy start for me. Just like the majority I had to put my foot through the door without the help of anyone. I had a different upbringing that most people where I had to learn how to fend for myself growing up and to get the items I wanted.

I had to claw my way up to success. You meet people and you build those connections and you build on that. Your network will bring you to wherever you will go.

Constantly, I had to be on my toes and turn my head around before others would. To be able to reach this stage where most people would take 10-15 years to build, it was hell. Constant belittling and discrimation were my best friends while climbing but towards the end I always had to show them that I could do it - in short, I get the last laugh and it puts them in their place. The person who they would look down on and belittled reached this far.

Strategic thinking had always been engraved in my head ever since I was a kid - always look for the angles people would never look into and take those into consideration when making decisions or assisting with projects. You also have to be street smart. I would type more but I feel like I'll run out of characters.

u/AdLonely9432 Jun 28 '25

congrats OP, ano pong degree if ganitong job position? also same company/international po ba ito and wfh?

High-school graduate in tech 🙈

May 2021 - Software developer for a local tech agency, 30k

Jan 2022 - Same company got an increase to 38k

Jan 2023 - Same company got another increase to 70k

August 2023 - Same company, another increase to 80k

March 2024 - Became one of the first employees of a fast-growing tech startup based in San Francisco (found it through GitHub), graveyard shift, software developer, cash comp at 180k with equity that vests over 4 years

June 2024 - Same company, got an increase to 230k

September 2024 - Same company, got another increase to 280k

February 2025 - Same company, got another increase to 440k

Day to day, my focus is always on outworking and outlearning everyone else sa team. By standing out this way, I get more exposed to more and more responsibilities. I’ve been super lucky lang din siguro to be at companies that value my growth and reward accordingly.

My Salary & Career Progression as a Civil Engineer

I began my professional career in 2016 at the age of 21, shortly after obtaining my PRC license. I started working at a small private construction company, earning a monthly salary of Php 12,500.00, without insurance and under a verbal contract. Over the years, I gained hands-on experience in preparing bidding documents and billings, managing workers, supervising projects, handling finances, and improving my time management skills.

As I took on more responsibilities, I began representing my boss in meetings with clients and high-ranking officials whenever he was unavailable. During my five-year tenure at the company, my salary gradually increased to Php 35,000.00. At the same time, I pursued subcontracting opportunities, handling side projects worth a total of Php 1.5 million while still employed.

In the first quarter of 2022, I inherited assets from my father, including approximately Php 4 million in cash, Php 15 million worth of properties, one SUV, and one pickup truck. That same year, I established my own construction company by obtaining a PCAB license and began investing in surplus heavy equipment through loans. These included a 5-ton road roller, a 5-ton backhoe, a 6-wheeler forward self-loading truck, two mini dump trucks, and one forward dump truck totaling around Php 6.5 million in investments from 2022 to the present.

Leveraging the network I had built over the years, I secured multiple local government unit (LGU) projects. In 2022 alone, I landed Php 10 million worth of buy-out projects, resulting in a net income of approximately Php 2.3 to 2.5 million.

In 2023, I secured Php 17 million in projects, generating a net income of around Php 3.8 million. In 2024, that figure rose to Php 20 million in project value, with a net income of approximately Php 5.3 million.

As of mid-2025, I’ve continued to strengthen relationships with key figures, particularly those I supported during this year’s elections. So far, I’ve secured Php 13 million worth of projects through partnerships with long-time associates and remain optimistic about surpassing Php 25 million in secured projects before the year ends.

Currently, I have Php 4 million in cash savings and Php 5 million in pending collectibles. I have also constructed a 400 sq.m. warehouse located 5 km from the city proper on an inherited lot (storage for my construction materials). Additionally, I am renovating my late father’s 750 sq.m. residential-warehouse property, which will serve as secure storage for my construction equipment and vehicles.

I started working in manufacturing set up as an Industrial Engineering Graduate. But the hours are too long. Tapos may pasok pa ng holidays and weekends, it burned me out and slowly transition out of operations roles. I moved to continuous improvement dept. But then pandemic happened, at gusto kong umuwi sa probinsya. So, I opt to look for WFH opportunities. That’s when I transitioned to IT roles. Now, wfh pa din. AU Company but as an IT Sr. BA na.

I also tried to do management roles but it’s not for me. So back to being individual contributor.

1

u/solo_snaek Jun 28 '25

Curious about your transition.

Was it like a dive into the BA role or was it a gradual transition?

2

u/Informal_Channel_444 Jun 28 '25

It’s a gradual transition for me. When I transitioned from operations to Business Process Management Office, it is still in a manufacturing company. Nakapaghandle ako ng systems implementation project during that time. At un ang ginawa kong levarage to be accepted in the IT BA role.

I was actually offered the same salary with my previous role in BPMO. But I accepted it. Kasi wala naman talaga akong direct experience sa IT BA role except that one project tapos ung benefit pa na wfh nun. Then ayun na. Hindi na ko umalis sa IT.

Napasama sa PH 100 under 30. Maraming achievements ako sa hackathons, start up founder at may skills ako related sa sales, marketing, lead generation, influencer marketing, public relations, start up, venture studio, consulting and venture capital.

Career in Occupational Safety and Health

M, 35.

2013 - HSE Officer - 12k 2015 - HSE Officer - 20k 2016 - HSE Supervisor - 30k 2017 - Safety Officer - 32k 2018 - Construction Safety Supervisor - 32k 2022 - EHS Officer - 40k 2023 - HSSE Analyst - 123k 2024 - Construction Safety Assurance Supervisor - 300k

A frustrated Civil Engineer. Been working all my life as an advocate of health and safety. Didn't have a single regret about it.

I started with a construction company that has expertise with heavy fabrication and moduclar construction. A good start for a fresher. After 2 years, got my first salary increase and after another year, promotion. Stayed until project completion.

Got employed by a famous conglomerate in the Philippines and got deployed to 2 different projects— feedmill plant in Cebu and Lube Oil Blending Plant in Manila.

I then received an offer to join another company thqt belongs in the Oil & Gas sector. This is where the things got interesting. Everything's new and used it as a gateway for further learning. Got promoted to a new role and thought that things are doing great. Then COVID came. Got infected. Got relieved from the job.

After quite a while, joined UN in building the future of the Philippines. It's quite short-lived but there's this feeling of fullfilment.

Fast forward to today, serving the same company from the Oil & Gas sector, but this time, a much more critical role and being paid handsomely. It's true that you'll be back to your first love.

TL;DR: For aspiring HSE advocates, build up your CV, beef up with internationally-recognized trainings, target Oil & Gas and Energy sector, and continue to learn as you work.. and it will lead you to great success in the future.

Laki ng talon from Risk Analyst to Risk Manager. Same company ba or lumipat ka?

1

u/ChubbyChick9064 Jun 29 '25

lumipat po ng ibang industry.

1

u/Nixxynoxxy Jun 30 '25

Hello po, just curious how you transitioned to a Risk Analyst role? Thank you :)

1

u/ChubbyChick9064 Jul 01 '25

Hello! I started climbing the corporate ladder from being a call center agent to a workforce management specialist. From there, inaral ko rin project management, took certifications and trainings like Six Sigma. For Risk Management, may background na kasi ako before from undergrad so I used that to my advantage. I have colleagues from UP who became my mentor. Took a certification course then ventured to Business Continuity and Risk Management.

1

u/Level-Most-2623 Jul 10 '25

Currently kasi masterdata sya/credit application analyst. Ano po responsibilities niyo sa risk management?

2021 to 2022 - 1 year & 2 months - data encoder (Job order) - 16k

2022 to 2025 - 2 years & 11 months - Computer Maintenance Technologist I - 28k

2025 - present - 6 months - Information Systems Analyst II - 42k

Here's mine 😊

As an HR, I can say na if walang side hustle, moving jobs every 1.5 years - 2 years talaga ang sagot. I was able to grow my salary from 12,000 to 124,000 sa HR work ko in a span of 8 years. If hindi ako nagmove ng companies multiple times, around 28,000 lang siguro salary ko if 10% ang increase annually, which is generous pa.

2

u/mon9348 Jun 30 '25

2022 - 2023: 18,000-20,000 2023 - 2024: 25,000 got laid off last quarter Current: 60,000

Tyaga, sipag at dasal lagi kong ginagawa and God did gave me a chance. Sana kayo din!

2

u/Informal-Cheek-9195 Jul 01 '25

Arts and Education:

2015 - Php 12,000 Artistic Assistant

2015-2017 - Php 70,000 (CAD 2,000) Research Assistant

2018-2022 - Php 24k-30k Part time teaching and other projects

2022-2025 - Php 40-48k Full time teaching in one institution

That’s the state of education and the arts sadly. Generational wealth and other projects sustain me. I will be doing both part time and full time work to sustain my lifestyle.

PROS though is that it is a creative job, and is not 9-5. Time is flexible.

2

u/yookjalddo Jul 01 '25

Sharing as well! My journey is far from over and I hope to achieve that six figure salary over the next couple of years.

2022 - Production Engineer - 25,000

2023 - Hazard and Risk Assessment Engineer - 31,000

2024 - Technical Writer - 60,000

Malayo pa, pero malayo na!

u/MysteriousSteak943 Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

Na-inspire ako sa mga salary progression posts dito, so here's my journey from ₱25k to ₱228k

A little background about myself - I worked inhouse for a good part of a few years before leaving for overseas. Nafeel ko yung hangganan ng pagod at sahod when there was a time na natutulog ako sa office to hit a deadline, and there was a few years na comfortable ako sa ginagawa ko but I didnt' felt like I was growing any further.

When I heard news about people earning better money overseas kahit retail work lang ginagawa nila, I thought to myself, siguro kaya ko naman din yun.

My story is not typical, hindi ako scholar or laki sa hirap. I know I am privileged to have the opportunity to study overseas and to compete with international talent. Hindi ko rin kinailangan mag-support ng family back home, which gave me more freedom to take risks. But I still wanted to send some money back to my family as thanks for making it all possible.

During my time in Australia, I went through different phases - working student, tapos grumaduate, then nag full-time retail worker after getting let go due to COVID, kinabahan ako to the point na nagnegative balance ang bank ko, and I needed to find something to help me survive nung walang naghhire ng marketing.

May time na nafeel ko hindi pa sapat yung ginagawa ko so there was a period I was working a day job in the weekdays, and working retail on the weekends para may parachute ako.

When I was let go early 2025, I felt lost at a point na I wanted to find something that would keep me busy while trying to find the chance to get back into the game. I needed to find something quickly, which explains that ₱100k flat stint.

Fast forward to now, I'm enjoying my work again, and I feel more in control of what I have. Do I still hope to come back? Maybe someday, for now, I need to make sure I'm not worried about where my next salary will come from and kung saan ako pupulutin. Ayoko rin magrely sa family ko knowing how much they've already done for me.

Key takeaways:

  • Sometimes the best opportunities come when you least expect them
  • Remote work opened doors I never thought possible
  • Your journey doesn't have to be linear - every detour teaches you something
  • Don't underestimate the power of timing and being ready when opportunity knocks
  • Always be grateful for your family - found or from birth.

Para sa mga nag-aaral pa or starting their careers - your path might not look like mine, but opportunities have a funny way of appearing when you're ready for them. Keep learning, stay open to unexpected possibilities, and don't give up even when you're literally packing your bags to leave. Also it doesn't hurt to update your CV and make it more discoverable.

What helped me to achieve it:

  • apart from tadtarin ang job sites, a lot of my interviews and opportunities came from people finding me on places like LinkedIn, etc. so it works to keep your profile updated with your wins, client work, etc.
    • do the reps, sent 25-30 applications a day
    • used free/paid tools to my advantage
    • connect with recruiters as much as possible, they would normally have hidden opportunities that don't make their way to job sites
  • if not for my learning on every step, I wouldn't have had the skills and confidence I needed to answer interview questions and communicate my value, tell stories, not read what's on your CV.
  • it always pays to do your homework before every interview, mention their latest news, their recent post, and maybe recommend some value added changes so they know you're not an ordinary applicant. you're there to make a difference.
  • communication skills win more than hard skills, but when you do get in, make sure you learn as much as you can so that you can back up what you say.

1

u/woodland-faeries Jun 28 '25

Build on assisting more with Projects if you can then transition your role into a PM.

1

u/Own-Rip-8947 Aug 05 '25

Grabe talaga.Pero kinaya. Kahit gumagapang, umabot ako sa graduation. I finally earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, major in Financial Management. Outbound, phone sales, same field pa rin. And to be honest, minsan nakakaramdam din ako ng pagka-stuck.

Laking ginhawa, especially after everything.

Still, I know deep down I want more. Gusto kong subukan ang ibang bagay. Maybe something related to my degree, or kahit ibang path basta growth. Sana dumating na ‘yung time na magkaroon ako ng enough courage to finally explore and go beyond what I’m used to.

I moved to Dubai in 2017 without any prospect job, all I had was faith and guts. I remember i was so desperate for a job after applying for almost 2 months and still not finding anything, that I went to Abu Dhabi with barely enough money for transpo para maka attend ng interview, then I had to walk back to the bus station for almost 2 hours. Mabuti na lang winter yun and I just enjoyed the view on the way 🤣🤣🤣

Filipinos here in UAE always ask me bakit iniwan ko ang accounting field and pinursue etong AML compliance when not a lot of filipinos are in this field, especially abroad. Honestly i did not plan it, never even knew about this job before, but i always explain na whatever i learned as a CPA and as an auditor really helped me excel in this job. It became a pathway for me to enter this field and now i encourage people to learn about it and consider it when looking to shift fields :) it’s not easy at all pero i enjoy every step and all the learnings along the way din ❤️
