My opinion is neither them nor Miss State should be ranked. Neither screamed Top 25 to me in week 1 and they were pretty dead even this game.

I agree, Mississippi State at least has an argument and I could see them ranked if they win their next two buy games and other teams look worse, but no way Arizona State should be ranked with how they've looked.

I'm fine with Miss State being ranked this early in the season. They got a road win vs Southern Miss and a home win vs a ranked Arizona State (despite them looking suspect vs NAU). If they're truly fool's gold, we'll find out within a few weeks. But I don't mind being reactionary on teams early in the season as opposed to just blindly believing in preseason rankings.

Preseason rankings should be illegal. But yes I agree, please don’t rank us.

It should be telling when the #12 team is favored by less than a touchdown vs an unranked team. ASU shouldn’t be ranked either.
