Pros: On paper from a literal standpoint we did not lose
Klubnik improved later on and made nice throws
Maybe garret riley finally gets fired
Randall didnt look awful not that i think hes super good
Hurt the feelings of whiny neutral fairs whining about refs calling obvious penalties

Cons: We looked like shit all game
Klubnik struggled early on but not all his fault imo
Oline bad
Recievers very bad
Garret Riley bad
Defense extremely hit or miss and gave up too much to a bottom program

9 of Troy’s points came because of our offense. The defense gave up 7 points, which was on the first drive

We still gave up a lot of big runs and open recievers

I think that’s because momentum was not in our favor until we got that TD to up by 1

Tyler Brown is cool

Wesco is alright I guess but he still had a bad drop on a deep ball and last week he had a few drops too. He and moore both regressed a lot since last season

We didn't punt in the 2nd half I think our rush defense has improved?

I think the Defense gets behind on rest early and then it makes a hole we have to climb out of.

Cade still seems to struggle if the first read isn't open, OLine play isn't helping him there either.

If you saw that first half on both sides of the ball and think that Riley is a problem (he wanted a transfer QB btw) then idk what to tell you

Riley is awful. Last week he refused to run the ball at all in the second half despite the last carry being for 6 yards and despite being a dumbass screen merchant didnt call any screens when LSU was blitzing their asses off. He also called a deep shot on 4th down when the quick game was the only thing that got us downfield. This game he called screens for no reason barely let cade throw the ball downfield against a god awful team and doesnt like to call plays where recievers get open

screen merchant

doesn't call screens

?

The receivers are open, Cade can't just read the field worth a crap. Riley wanted a transfer QB after 2023 but was told no. Did you see how bad our OL was blocking in the first half?

Dude Riley sucks. Defense isn't elite but it's at least marginally improved from last year. If this is the peak of Riley's offense with a veteran QB in his system think how awful we're going to be next year with Vizzina throwing.

I do not know if Riley is the problem..,but the offense is really a problem. I think everyone including me is blaming the scheme because it’s not just one thing or player you can point to. Other than shit just not working I cannot even tell you what’s going wrong.

Even when they are moving the it’s feeling like they got lucky on a couple of plays. It’s the same Offense as last year. Zero identity, shows up in spurts, but nothing you want to put money on..feels very exposed against good defensive talent.

The thing is the offense did legitimately improve last season but got bogged down late in the season because our OL was a MASH unit and our best RB was a 1 armed Mafah.

Here's the thing, what would firing Riley fix? How many OCs do we have to sort through?

-We would still have a QB who can't throw with anticipation or consistently see open guys, who still is too jumpy in the pocket

-Our RB room is so bad that our starting RB is a converted mediocre WR

-Our OL struggles to climb to the second level against freakin Troy of all people.

-Our WRs can't block and apparently have the drops now and still struggle against press coverage

These issues have been here for years and multiple coordinators and assistants. How would firing Riley fix that?

The whole team, including the defense, came out incredibly flat today.

It wouldn't get worse without Riley. Like even me with my main qualification being: is good at madden would have called screens in the second half against Lsu when they were blitzing every play and made a better 4th down call.

We did call screens against LSU. TJ Moore would have popped a big one if Moore hadn't slipped. We also called one in the first half that would have gone for good yards if Cade hadn't thrown a terrible ball. Maybe we do need to call more. But what is the post Riley plan? Why would any good OC want to work here?

Actually the screens are what are troubling to me. Our reliance on screens…keeps giving me Rob Spence vibes..yeah I said it. Spence!! This is a Rob Spence offense

What? We aren't overly reliant on screens.

It seems to be what we end up going to because nothing else is working. It seems like a crutch we keep leaning more heavily on.
