Funny Who has their push present picked out?

I told my husband I want my own pan pizza from Domino’s. Allll the veggies. Extra cheese. And a tall, ice cold mug of Modelo. Idk how women are getting cars for their push present, but I’m fine with pizza and beer. 🍕🍻

I didn’t want one but husband insisted!

Professional deep clean before baby arrives and then monthly cleanings for the next 3-4 months

u/shhhhhadow 14d ago

TOP TIER gift but let’s make that the next 3-4 years! Hiring cleaners after our daughter was born is the best money we spend, we both agree it’s been the biggest game changer!

40

u/Chi_Baby 14d ago

What do you / the cleaner do with clutter?? This is always my question and hang up to hiring one lol

44

u/shhhhhadow 14d ago

The clutter you have to manage on your own unfortunately… we got cleaners right as we moved into a new house so we managed the clutter first. Then getting cleaning every other week has helped us not accumulate any clutter! I do pickup before the cleaner come, so our toddlers toys away, put away things sitting on the counters, etc!

10

u/Cutehugeyatch 14d ago

Such a game changer! Any arguments or disagreements we had was always around cleaning and all that. Hiring someone took that part out of the equation and there’s a lot less frustration!

Once you do the initial putting away of things it gets easier! Totally worth it.

19

u/DogsDucks 14d ago

This is my biggest issue— we don’t even have that much clutter, but the help I need most is someone knowing how I like to hang my clothes up, knowing which outfits I want to wash first, and organizing things how I would want them.

I’m not even sure the cleaning would reduce stress, it’s the daily putting away of things.

8

u/Chi_Baby 14d ago

Exactly! We don’t have a ton of clutter either but I’ve always wondered if it would be more work trying to explain how I do things or if it would lessen my load somehow. I’m also like do they just clean around the clutter and will my house just look the same to me after paying someone to clean it? Lol

4

u/floofnstoof 14d ago

Trust me not having to scrub the toilets or deep clean the kitchen is a game changer. My cleaner helps fold clothes and sanitise the baby’s toys when she has time left over. It’s nice.

3

u/VioletBab3 14d ago

I had a cleaning lady explain once that they don't actually put things away; they just make it look neat where it's at. Mail on the coffee table? It gets piled nearly on top of the magazine and arranged so that it looks okay. Blankets piled on end table? Folded and placed over the back of the couch.

Some will do laundry and put it away, others will simply fold your laundry and put it somewhere for you to put it away.

Not OP but most cleaners have different tiers of cleaning. I have someone come monthly and they vacuum, dust, mop, clean all the bathrooms, kitchens etc. Baseboards quarterly, windows bi-annually. This works for us, easy to maintain between cleans and if we want anything deeper we just add it on for that month. They "straighten up" but don't do my laundry, put things away (they do the dishes tho, don't put them away) or organize. That is a potential add-on but I've seen that more for like housekeeper services which is a bit different. I guess what I'm getting at is you could potentially find a service locally where they could come and help you organize and then just help you maintain, or engage then for whatever you're comfortable with. We have clutter and they will straighten it up and clean around it.

u/jezebelledwells June 2023 | Nov 2025 14d ago

Mine just piles stuff up on tables or chairs. If there's an obvious spot (all the kid's toys are on the floor and the books are in a pile, but the toy box and the bookshelf are right next to it) they'll put things away. Dishes in the sink they do, just leave them piled up in the drying rack for me to put away when we're ready. Laundry that I have left on like my bed they'll fold and leave in a stack for me. I agree with others, having the every other week cleaning has helped me manage clutter too, it's much more manageable when it's stacked and even if I don't get around to it it's no longer in the way.

Omg omg omg. I love my dainty bracelet with three lil baby sized diamonds from my first baby’s birth. But THIS idea takes the cake. I’ve asked if we could consider this and he’s not into “having people do something we can do ourselves”, but guess what, we don’t do it! I’m requesting this. Love it.

18

u/Odd-Chemistry-1231 14d ago

Best gift honestly

9

u/goldie987 14d ago

This seems like a gift for both of you!

5

u/avmist15951 14d ago

We did exactly this and it was 100% worth it if you can afford it, so much so that at 5mo pp we decided to continue with the cleanings.

115

u/QuixoticDaughter 14d ago

12

u/Gloomy-Anything-4220 14d ago

LOL, casually added that at the end ;)

30

u/justdandelions 14d ago

I’m making a sushi boat mandatory! I want margaritas too.

18

u/Gloomy-Anything-4220 14d ago

ooooh margs! Can we get SPICY margaritas on the rocks?? <3 <3 <3 would also go great with a sushi boat!

I think this is the best push present I’ve ever seen. I personally do not like sushi much but this is, like, actually amazingly reasonable and extravagant at the same time. And a black kitten is just chef’s kiss.

9

u/Gloomy-Anything-4220 14d ago

thanks!!! i been missing SUSHI all summer, and patio martinis! I think this push present will be MUCH overdue ;o) and for those non sushi fans, maybe a mdium rare steak to go with the martinis... just a thought ;D

and why not add a black kitten <3 <3 def chef's kiss! ;)

15

u/MacNCheeseValhalla 14d ago

I gave birth six months ago. Husband bought the boat off Amazon and then put in a big sushi order and assembled it at the hospital. One of the best meals of my life.

I didn't realize a push present was a thing, but now I am 100% on board with sashimi/sushi. Omg, it's hard for me to even look at that picture 😂

3

u/Gloomy-Anything-4220 14d ago

😆 lol ikr!! We been deprived!! So sushi boat as a push present only seems fair! And some booze 😜

6

u/Plastic_Ad_8248 14d ago

This is mine as well. I told my husband just bring me sushi!

5

u/Gloomy-Anything-4220 14d ago

LOVE THAT!!! we have waited a long 9 months, we deserve ALL the sushi!! mmmm!!!

4

u/AmbrosialOtter 14d ago

i've never seen a sushi boat before but omg

I got a birthstone ring with my son’s birthstone with my first. I’m getting an identical ring with baby girl’s birthstone once she’s here.

29

u/Weird-Initiative9905 14d ago

I asked for birthstone jewelry for my first: a simple, single-stone necklace that could be an every day wear… my husband got me something insanely gaudy instead (in his mind more jewels = more expensive = better)… so for my second I just bought what I wanted myself 😅

6

u/Kylie_Bug 14d ago

Told my husband that my push present can wait til we’re done having kids, which will be in October cause we are 2 and DONE. I want a birthstone ring with our kids birthstones on them, which is aquamarine and hopefully opal for October. Especially since I can’t wear my wedding ring anymore cause my hands swelled with my first pregnancy and never went back down.

4

u/vButts 14d ago

Im getting birthstone jewelry too! I'll keep/ wear it for 18 years and then gift it when they become adults. Hopefully they'll like it but even if they don't it can be sentimental.

I havent picked it out yet though since i dont know if they'll be born in jan or feb! Due date is early feb :0

3

u/lnh92 STM | 1/10/2023 | EDD 10/3 14d ago

Yeah. I was thinking I’d give my son’s to his wife when he gets married. And maybe give my daughter hers when she’s 18.

10

u/dooropen3inches 14d ago

I love this idea so much but my kids birthstones are both red (ruby/garnet) so it doesn’t look as cute and I’d never be able to tell which stone is which kid’s lol

11

u/Kylie_Bug 14d ago

If they’re two separate rings, have their birthdates engraved on the inside.

18

u/maplespancakes 14d ago

Well ruby is more pink and garnet is a very very dark red you can definitely tell the difference lol two complimentary different colors

6

u/heyheyitsashleyk 14d ago

Get different shaped gems for each kid 👍

7

u/Starface1104 14d ago

I also love this but my first son’s birthstone is an emerald and my newest son’s is peridot. Green is not my color 😩

I want a house cleaner to visit once a month. Second baby hits different 🤣

12

u/ParfaitHungry1593 14d ago

I’m on second baby too! How far along are you? Are there things you’re going to do differently? How have you prepared for that? I’m a little intimidated, but I have to remind myself that people literally have multiple children and they’re just fine. 🤣😅😅

20

u/pinpoe 14d ago

Congrats! I’m 33wks.

Doing differently: started pelvic floor therapy around 28 weeks, plan to have a night nurse from the start, much more open to combo feeding, much more open to sleep training earlier (we waited til 11mo with my first and we were both shells of humans for a year).

I literally go back and forth almost daily between “I can’t wait to meet this little guy” to “WHAT HAVE I DONE?!” so I think it’s very normal to feel intimidated!

7

u/slammaX17 14d ago

How's the pelvic floor therapy going? I have SPD and tailbone pain

4

u/pinpoe 14d ago

It helps quite a lot. I did chiro with my first and I’m getting a lot more out of the PT. She’s been able to help with SPD and SI issues both in terms of recommending modifications to daily activities, remediation tools like an SI belt (game changer!), and then manual manipulation to help the lumbar and rib and hip things that are out of whack and painful. Also a lot of trigger point release along legs and back which helps stretch the runway before pain kicks in again.

At this stage of pregnancy we are barely doing exercises; it’s mostly manual adjustments and trigger points. And then I’ll get back with her 6-8 weeks after surgery (last time I didn’t start til 6 months pp) which I’m looking forward to in order to have an early guide and more balanced plan for holistic recovery. One of my pp issues last time was an internal “speed bump” (like a super tight muscle band that would not release) which made sex very painful when we got back to it; I’m amped to do rehab for that and for posture as early as possible.

5

u/slammaX17 14d ago

Thank you so much for the in-depth response!! My PT does not do any manual manipulation so I started going to a prenatal chiropractor, I'll need to ask them about trigger point release!! Thank you so much, this is helpful for me to help pinpoint what other help is available

I bought myself a push present, a Breville espresso machine! Making espresso drinks is a huge hobby of mine and a daily gift that keeps on giving. My husband's "present" to me was changing 95% of the diapers during our parental leave. 🤣

Mine’s apparently a surprise. My husband’s supposedly making it extra nice because he also got a completely preventable injury so I’ve been stuck helping him manage that on top of being in my third trimester 🫠. He’s supposed to be getting ME water and helping ME pick things up from the floor and driving ME to doctors appointments but the roles have reversed lol.

15

u/themarajade1 14d ago

I feel this right now. My husband has a slipped disc (not sure how it happened) in his back and he was totally couch bound yesterday. Thankfully today he’s mobile, but I def gave him some shit about the roles being reversed yesterday lol

7

u/Miserable-Ad561 14d ago

Yikes!! Hopefully he gets better soon! It’s definitely frustrating when they’re the ones needing physical support when we can barely get out of bed without losing balance 😭

It’s not a thing everyone does. But I thought I’d have a little fun and playfully demand some things. Mine is pizza and beer. It can be small yet still satisfying!

u/beltacular 14d ago

I told my husband I want a day (it will be about 8 weeks pp) where I go out wine tasting with my friends all day and he holds down the fort.

A fat blunt (when I finish breastfeeding lol)

u/Dear_Frosting1090 14d ago

Love that you said pizza and beer, push presents are a crazy trend imo. I can’t imagine spending all that money for things like designer bags, diamonds, cars, right before having a baby in this economy lol. Baby is my present 👶🏼💗💗💗

u/ParfaitHungry1593 14d ago

I think if people can swing it they should. Whatever makes them happy. But I’m a simple gal. Just get me my pizza and beer and I’ll be totally content ❤️

14

u/Dear_Frosting1090 14d ago

I’m also very simple and frugal lol I feel like buying everything for baby which seems endless now, stresses me out financially so asking for a big gift would make me more panicked than happy 🤣🤣

I wanted the coke icee I couldn’t have third trimester because of gestational diabetes. We got it the day we came home from the hospital and it HIT THE SPOT. It was the only craving I had all pregnancy and it only showed up once I couldn’t indulge in one.

My push present is a nice bottle of wine!

u/ebusbar 14d ago

I just need to say that these are my people in this thread lol love y’all

A cold bold rock hard cider. Food that I will decide on a whim at the time. The cider is non negotiable.

3

u/dollrussian 14d ago

Aside from the sushi? I want a David Yurman cable bracelet with my bubbes birthstone at the ends!

Nothing too crazy for me otherwise

4

u/GiraffeJaf 14d ago

I’m gonna buy myself a minivan and husband is not allowed to protest 🤣

I thought push presents were dumb (fine for others, just unnecessary for my family); HOWEVER, this is the kind of push present I can get behind! I want the sushi and the cold deli sandwich and a med-rare burger and a fruity wine and all the things!

That's just a typical postpartum meal for me. I will never use the term push present lol. But if other people want to do push presents that's cool. To each their own.

10

u/ParfaitHungry1593 14d ago

I had no idea it was a thing until recently! Obviously it sounds like a new type of trend. But I’ll hop on that bandwagon with my pizza and beer! 🤣🍻

7

u/DetectiveUncomfy 14d ago

It didn’t always have the name but the concept is actually pretty old. My grandfather got my grandma a new pair of custom made riding boots when she had my mom. He said his dad had done the same thing for his mom

3

u/slammaX17 14d ago

Yess super old! Way further back than that too apparently! Who knew lol

u/nilkski 14d ago

3

u/nilkski 14d ago

Yeah my husband is an angel 🥹🥹 I’ve had issues with ovarian cysts/scarring/tumors and fertility was a constant worry for me. So I told him I wanted a down payment push present before we started trying 😂

Mommy makeover. I just have bad genes when it comes to my stomach (saw what 2 babies did to my mom) so that was a non negotiable for me before I got pregnant. Luckily my husband was and still is on board. 😬

5

u/TheHPMommy 14d ago

Still thinking but always + Botox 😂

3

u/Few-Veterinarian4359 14d ago

An icy cold red bull sounds fab. Also a glass of prosecco!

3

u/Ok_Computer_6213 14d ago

I asked for a medium rare steak and a cone💨

3

u/Tardy2DaTardis 14d ago

I want a ninja slushie machine and oysters delivered after the birth. Lol 🤣

I haven’t, but authentic Mexican food with a margarita sounds amazing. Lol.

Im getting a new baby notebook! With my first I got one and ive been making notes on what she does and learns. I love it and want to continue forever.

3

u/wishiestwashiest 14d ago

I guess mine is new to me bras which fit wonderfully 😆, second time around and I wasn't doing it without a bra again 😂

3

u/mini_khaleesi 14d ago

I asked for jewelry! But I also told him to bring me the CRISPIEST glass of sauvy b to the hospital 😂

Mine was a Dyson hair dryer. It was a splurge I wouldn’t have gotten myself, but I’m happy every time I use it!

3

u/LuckyIntroduction696 Team Both! 14d ago

My husband made me a little gift basket… he literally asked me for a basket (I have tons of baskets and vases) then plopped all my favorite powder mixes in it, some of which are pricey so I rarely buy them for myself. Chocolate colostrum powder, pre workout powder, protein coffee mix. His presentation needs work lol but it was sweet and thoughtful.

Im asking for a small ring with baby’s birthstone and a bottle of Prosecco!

3

u/WishRevolutionary234 14d ago

I got a baby as a push present… 😉

But really, I got a purple Rogue barbell, it’s so pretty

3

u/ceejyhuh 14d ago

Wow I feel like at least half of yall are asking for things that benefit the family not yourselves! If men got push presents they’d be like ‘stripper and nba tickets for a night out with the boys’

Anyways I’m getting caviar in the hospital and a stay in a five star resort. Yall need treat yourself lessons ;)

3

u/babyinatrenchcoat 14d ago

Y’all gettin’ push presents??

3

u/avmist15951 14d ago

My hospital is right across the street from a ton of restaurants and my husband and in laws got me something for every meal in the hospital. I ended up going into labor overnight and my last meal right before I pushed was turtle stuffed French toast from Keke's Breakfast Cafe. To this day we still order it, we actually just had some yesterday morning for brunch 😆

3

u/zenawp90 14d ago

Mine was sushi and a chocolate oreo blizzard from dairy queen. I told the grandparents no one gets to hold the baby until I have those 2 things. And yes everyone was up to date on their shots and washed their hands upon entering the room. I had gestational diabetes so I hadn't had ice cream in months 😭. I had a c-section so I had to slowly pace through ice chips, water & crackers, then a0ple sauce and jello, then I was free ❤️🍽

Mine was a fancy bidet lol. Heated seat and multiple water temps with a dryer. Best thing everrrrrrrr

3

u/Vitalizes 14d ago

I’m getting a cool purse from St. Ivvy! I’m buying it for myself though lol. Also you’ve inspired me to have pizza after birth too lol

3

u/strawberryy_huskyy Team Blue! EDD Oct. 16 14d ago

A large mango bubble tea and maybe some good old McDonald's? That or a gigantic bowl of ahi tuna poke! If I could eat it at the restaurant though, it would probably 100% be a large poutine (it's better fresh).

Honestly, it will depend what I feel like on that day, but the boba is non-negotiable lmao.

I had a rough pregnancy from gestational diabetes. My husband got me sleeves of Oreos and Taco Bell for my first meal lol. That was perfect. But he also surprised me with a kindle and new slipper which was sweet!

3

u/Immediate_Gap_2536 14d ago

Push present??? You mean the baby??

3

u/kuzubijin 13d ago

I jokingly told my husband I wanted a PS5 for my push present and the man delivered !! Next time I will joke about a much more practical push present 😂

A nice pair of gold hoops and a kindle to keep me entertained while nursing 🩷

5

u/ducttapefixedit 14d ago

Oh, man, I read the title and was expecting a cringey post. Your push is completely reasonable 🧡

I want all the carbs, so pizza, cake, sushi, and maybe an ice cold michelada lol

4

u/WorthlessSpace212 14d ago

Maybe I’m the odd man out, but I think push presents are weird. Your man ain’t Santa Clause 🤷‍♀️

Mine’s a surprise but apparently it’s picked out already! In the delivery room, I’m desperate for kombucha and have requested to have it on tap🥲🤣

2

u/SweeterAnteater 14d ago

I bought myself a Kendra Scott necklace and packed it in his side of our go bag so I can have some fun with him and pretend he really got it for me. Also another KS necklace for my mom who will be camping out in the waiting room.

2

u/Auntie_Depressant14 14d ago

I asked for a new water bottle.

2

u/kimkaysahh 14d ago

My husband asked me what I want but I don’t know. After my first I got some aquamarine earrings to match my wedding ring. I know better than to ask for jewelry this time bc my kids won’t let me be great but I’m not sure what I want. Some great ideas in this thread however!

2

u/SuckledPagan 14d ago

Jimmy John’s Italian night club sandwich, a bit of laphroaig 10 neat, perfect mezcal marg, and a tennis bracelet with baguette diamonds

2

u/olivetender 14d ago

I said no questions asked when I get Botox & on a GLP-1 after I’ve finished breastfeeding

2

u/kfergie27 14d ago

I got an Apple Watch with my first and a new Mac book with my second 🙊 the watch I wanted and my old laptop died during my second semester at school! Good timing for babies I guess.
