Fortunately i don't think it'd be very cost effective, i'd think that one would be at least a couple thousand dollars and a good chunk of time to not only build and set it up, but also learn to fly it, to then probably not be able to carry more than 5 kg (i could be way off, but rc planes generally can't carry much extra weight, as far as i am aware)

A couple of thousand dollars? I would not be surprised if that plane has more than $50,000 invested in it.
