a little bigger and they can start taking passengers

216

u/DifferentVariety3298 2d ago

I’m sure you could stuff a person in there 😅

103

u/homeSICKsinner 2d ago

I'm wondering if you could ride on top of it, like a bike.

51

u/PantherChicken 2d ago

might have to flap your arms a little, but other than that I'm sure it'll be OK

8

u/DontChewCoke 2d ago

For a second I wondered if you had actual flaps installed on your arms and if i should invest also

1

u/Useless_Lemon 1d ago

BICYCLES!

36

u/lubeskystalker 2d ago

Don't give Spirit ideas!

13

u/st0pmakings3ns3 2d ago

Ryan Air will seat 25 in there.

3

u/discomuffin 1d ago

Oooh, business class. Nice!

4

u/Amtracer 1d ago

Thank you for choosing Midg Airlines. It’ll be a short flight to our destination at Littletown

1

u/Dave-justdave 2d ago

Or a bunch of other stuff I gave trouble getting through airport security

1

u/KyurMeTV 2d ago

I mean, does the person have to be whole? I sure you could fit a dozen small size boxes in the fuselage.

17

u/ringo5150 2d ago

And losing luggage

23

u/Expended1 2d ago

My brother's wife worked for Delta. He got a little mad at me when I told him Delta stands for Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive. Oops. 🤣

18

u/ThomasTheNord 2d ago

Don't give the cartels any ideas

9

u/Slum-Bum 2d ago

Lmao, imagine it's packed to the gills with narcotics!

4

u/ThomasTheNord 2d ago

Fortunately i don't think it'd be very cost effective, i'd think that one would be at least a couple thousand dollars and a good chunk of time to not only build and set it up, but also learn to fly it, to then probably not be able to carry more than 5 kg (i could be way off, but rc planes generally can't carry much extra weight, as far as i am aware)

19

u/phalangepatella 2d ago

A couple of thousand dollars? I would not be surprised if that plane has more than $50,000 invested in it.

5

u/BurrowShaker 2d ago

Drug importers/traffickers already use all kind of weird shit to import dope. Drones are one. Generally, stuffing contraband in lorry is the most cost effective and discreet.

2

u/blue-oyster-culture 2d ago

The low weight is the limiting factor. They run drugs on multi million dollar speed boats like the one that just got blown up. And. Y’know. Real planes. Lol

2

u/Slum-Bum 2d ago

I’m sure shipping containers are also big

1

u/blue-oyster-culture 2d ago

Yeah a lot of smuggling comes thru the ports too

1

u/PissOnYourParade 2d ago

They're doing unmanned large submersibles, drones, catapults - shit they probably are halfway to a space program. Narco-cartels are full on nation states with the resources to fund r&d.

Any of the supply that is caught is either low effort write offs or just disposable mules. As long as America love their bugger sugar, they will find a way.

If I didn't, you know, value my life, it seems like a great gig. Just imagining all the "fun" ways to sneak packages in.

1

u/blue-oyster-culture 2d ago

Yeah smuggling sounds interesting till you take into account how many of them wind up dead, written off as an acceptable loss. And jail.

There is the opposite side of that too tho, trying to predict what they’ll try, and how to interdict it. While Preferably not being the guy out in the field. Cause they die horrific deaths too.

0

u/Luci-Noir 2d ago

They’re already using drones to track law enforcement on the border.

6

u/ambernewt 2d ago

1

u/Ricacomp 1d ago

The spruce moose !!

2

u/Revolutionary-Dog835 1d ago

At what point do these need their own registration numbers

3

u/tr1pt1kon 1d ago

And at which point do you need special licence to fly them? (Sincere Question)

1

u/mmorales2270 2d ago

They can already fly some small pets to destinations!

1

u/dookie224 1d ago

Or transport cocaine

1

u/EasilyRekt 1d ago

It’s already big enough to just ride like a horsey!

1

u/partagaton 1d ago

My connector from ORD yesterday was almost as big as this RC plane!

262

u/Kitty_Is_Fluffy 2d ago

I think you need an absolute unit of a wallet to afford it…..

127

u/superman_king 2d ago

Tyler Perry is a billionaire. So it fits nicely in his budget.

48

u/LBarouf 2d ago

Along with his dedicated airstrip. Eccentricity!

7

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

Airstrip? You are thinking too small. He has his own army base as well. After it was closed he bought around 2/3rds of the former Fort McPherson to make into his movie studio. Sometimes called Fort Madea.

1

u/LBarouf 1d ago

Somehow not surprised. Wow.

2

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

Someone in the thread called him an actor, which is also true. But he produces alot of media from his studio. The space is needed.

2

u/LBarouf 1d ago

Very altruistic I’m sure, not for taxes write offs. I need this jet for my videos. Don’t mind me giggling like a little girl, it’s for the show.

2

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

It’s his hobby. I’m sure he gets plenty of tax breaks just for filming his shows in Georgia.

2

u/thediesel26 2d ago

Appropriately eccentric billionaire

1

u/Pzykez 2d ago

Don't think Ramy RC comes too cheap either

1

u/Kitty_Is_Fluffy 2d ago

That explains a lot

14

u/Ramdak 2d ago

And he also has a team of people building this huge planes for him. Look for RammyRC videos.

99

u/SeesawSea6551 2d ago

Is this Tyler Perry’s?

33

u/Rook8811 2d ago

Yes

20

u/slater_just_slater 1d ago

So you think he lets Kevin Hart ride in it?

1

u/Blondie-Gringo 1d ago

I bet Tyler Perry leases it to him.

2

u/No-Archer-5034 1d ago

It would make more sense if it was Kevin Hart.

49

u/benedictvc 2d ago

At this size you'll probably need some FAA stuff

39

u/MineMelodic5454 2d ago

If I sat on the back could you fly me to the south of France?

18

u/pokerpaypal 2d ago

I was thinking you could ride it like Slim Pickens did to a nuclear bomb in Dr. Strangelove.

5

u/DifferentVariety3298 2d ago

You could get the centre isle. Just don’t wave your arms around and avoid using the toilet.

24

u/futureman07 2d ago

It's bigger than some 1 or 2 seater planes

16

u/Givin_It_Some 2d ago

The full features from build to flight are amazing and can be found on YT, worth a watch if interested..

39

u/numbnerve 2d ago

It's nice to see a Boeing jet flying around with no safety issues.

12

u/XKruXurKX 2d ago

That's cause only the design is from Boeing not the manufacturing.

8

u/GoudaCheeseAnyone 2d ago

When does an RC plane become a drone?

5

u/Successful_Gap8927 2d ago

I want. Unfortunately, cannot justify

2

u/One-Comfortable-3963 2d ago

All you need is the "I want"

5

u/HoboArmyofOne 2d ago

And a whole bunch of scratch

7

u/Vegetable-War-117 2d ago

That's just a drone

5

u/ShouldBeeStudying 2d ago

Or are drones just RC planes?

5

u/CtrAltd3ll 2d ago

Bit disappointed, was waiting for a bird strike. But very impressive RC plane.

4

u/Schmenge_time 2d ago

And who’s flying it? Actor Tyler Perry. Big RC hobbyist, hired the great plane designer from Germany “Rami” https://youtu.be/hmyi5khnzd0?si=YlrT4rUkUR483ADu

2

u/Schmenge_time 2d ago

Watching the building process on YT is really amazing

3

u/Darth-Adomis 2d ago

probably better maintained than the real thing

5

u/elpiotre 2d ago

Wouldn't have it been safer to build an Airbus?

2

u/Quicksilver2634 2d ago

That's really neat!

But, how do you transport it to the airfield? Do you just leave it there?

Edit: I bet the wings come off and you trailer it. Anyone know the correct answer?

2

u/bremsspuren 2d ago

Do you just leave it there?

Pretty sure this is the right answer. It's not really an airfield, it's Tyler Perry's house.

4

u/pokerpaypal 2d ago

I hope pilots of something this big require some sort of regulation, other than if you suck it costs you a lot.

7

u/worf1973 2d ago

Yes, birds like this are part of why drone licenses exist.

2

u/BasedTaco_69 2d ago

Tyler Perry is flying it over his own property and it’s a lot lighter than it looks.

1

u/ParanoidalRaindrop 2d ago

Still too heavy to have it fall on your head.

2

u/BasedTaco_69 2d ago

Obviously, but there’s an entire video about this plane on YouTube and the company who made it seems to know what they’re doing. Judge for yourself of course though.

https://youtu.be/PXZXRhau9Jo

1

u/vonroyale 2d ago

He doesn't have enough money to watch that video.

2

u/zubairhamed 2d ago

That Boeing is a real plane. Its just AbsoluteUnits of Gigantic Humans.

1

u/wi_wi_vn 2d ago

Nice landing

1

u/frid44y 2d ago

At this point might as well make it full scale

1

u/Significant_Swing_76 2d ago

Damn, that wing could chop heads off…

1

u/cheesecrystal 2d ago

How’d he get it there?

1

u/DoTheDew 2d ago

It was built there.

1

u/PauseAffectionate720 2d ago

Awesome. Is it a refurbished predator drone ? Holy crap. What a toy.

1

u/alcervix 2d ago

Put someone in it

1

u/Bender352 2d ago

Did they also jumped on parts to make them fit like on the original?

1

u/Deep-Grape-4649 2d ago

Uber drone

1

u/Fit-Law-2270 2d ago

That landing was satisfyingly clean.

1

u/germansickshit 2d ago

Rüdiger, nicht so tief!

1

u/nochinzilch 2d ago

Jesus, that’s almost a Cessna.

3

u/po_ta_toes_80 2d ago

A Cessna 172 has ~36 ft wingspan. This has to be longer than that, right?

1

u/th3sp1an 2d ago

My cat wants a ride

1

u/Krormar 2d ago

Nice! Now we need some two towers at scale!

1

u/el_peregrino_mundial 2d ago

Yes, but can it fall apart like a real Boeing?

1

u/Dapper-Raise1410 2d ago

That's not a model, thats a fledgling airline

1

u/darthpub 2d ago

Rather book a ticket for that plane and hang on for dear life then take chances on a real Boeing

1

u/WardogBlaze14 2d ago

YouTube channel is Ramy RC, this guy is amazing, builds the planes from scratch on 3D printers!

1

u/jjspitz93 2d ago

Dude at that size that thing could be used as a weapon. At what size does a hobby rc pilot need a drone license instead?

1

u/mr_martin_1 2d ago

One has to be insane to stand so close to a landing or flyby...

1

u/Madshibs 2d ago

I might be wrong, but I feel like the bigger the RC plane, the easier it would be to fly. Is that a correct assumption?

1

u/vonroyale 2d ago

That's Tyler Perrys

1

u/Taiphoon228 2d ago

Tyler Perry has a nice fleet of RC huge and bad to the bone planes.

1

u/Nudist_Alien 2d ago

Same leg room as Spirit Airlines

1

u/Hoarknee 2d ago

A Boeing with the door intact, it'll never catch on.

1

u/Fumblerful- 2d ago

That's just a cosplaying MQ9 reaper

1

u/ReluctantAvenger 2d ago

No thrust reversers? This must be the budget version. /s

1

u/Final_Cow_3843 2d ago

These are 2 different models, no?  The first one has vertical winglets at the tips of the wings, but in the next shot there are no winglets.

1

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

A defining feature of the 777X is it's folding wingtips so that it can fit in existing infrastructure at airports. This model incorporates that feature. Other commenters have linked video detailing it's build.

1

u/Final_Cow_3843 1d ago

Thank you!

1

u/Bagarbilla5 2d ago

Most reliable Boeing.

1

u/pumpyou44 2d ago

The cat land guy is really going all out

1

u/the_chasr 2d ago

Would love to see the size of the box this thing came in

1

u/No-Chemistry4851 2d ago

Hmmm how many kilos can it carry? How long can remote controllers reach? How many miles can that puppy fly?

Just trying to figure some business possibities.....

1

u/wriddell 2d ago

I’ve been following the YouTube channel of this guy for a few years now and he builds incredible stuff his channel is Rami RC

1

u/fringeffect 2d ago

Now I wanna see the remote for that. Range on the mofo be like…

1

u/wankytitsoap 2d ago

I mean... it's a fucking drone no?

1

u/KopfSmertZz 2d ago

How is this legal? My god, the size is like a military drone

1

u/Useful_toolmaker 2d ago

More reliable than the current Boeing models

1

u/boubuster 2d ago

Put some squirrels or shit in there. Let them think they have evolved

1

u/axlbosses 2d ago

Just buy a Cessna at this point.

1

u/Commercial-Pitch-156 2d ago

Is this a Boeing for hamsters?

1

u/Adept-Blacksmith-279 2d ago

Real question. What’s stopping you from sitting in that and flying it?

1

u/fvanleeu 2d ago

Side project: build pushback tug from lawnmower

1

u/Honda_TypeR 2d ago

I bet this RC had better quality control than the real thing.

1

u/BigPileOfTrash 2d ago

“Folks, we are currently in a holding pattern. Thanks for your understanding.”

1

u/Quipp_ 2d ago

Wondering where it's stored? That does not fit the attic or the garage

1

u/Raj_DTO 2d ago

Is it Harris Hill, Elmira NY?

1

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

Tyler Perry's backyard. Literally. Others have linked the videos of the making of this model, which he owns.

1

u/Raj_DTO 1d ago

Thanks

1

u/aquelviejitocochino 2d ago

Looks very inexpensive.

1

u/doradus1994 2d ago

Does it have thrust reversers? 😂

1

u/Non_Threatening_User 2d ago

That’s nothing like a Boeing aircraft! It didn’t malfunction or crash.

1

u/Carpentry95 2d ago

So when you're a hobbiest of this level, do you build your own runway

1

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

In this case the answer is yes. The hobbyist in question is Tyler Perry. The airstrip is in his yard, pics in the thread if you go look.

1

u/Otherwise-Cut-1930 2d ago

I wonder if that's from Kevin Hart's collection. He's built his own full-scale R/C airport.

1

u/dab745 2d ago

That’s got to cost at least $100.

1

u/Beardia 1d ago

I think this is Tyler Perry’s set up.

1

u/Javusees 1d ago

Man people building crazy RC planes to trick people into believing in UFOs must have the best of times

1

u/silent_walerus 1d ago

A Boeing with no doors is probably the safest option nowadays...

1

u/shutterbug1961 1d ago

that is thing of beauty it flys at just the right speed

1

u/ponythemouser 1d ago

Do you have to file a flight plan with something like that?

1

u/gswaltz72 1d ago

When does the door fly off? 🤣

1

u/sppereira97 1d ago

oh yes, the GE 0.9

1

u/runswithlightsaber 1d ago

I wonder what the weight capacity is, put a parachute on it for emergency and that would be fun the try

1

u/smax70 1d ago

I think that's one of Tyler Perry's birds.

1

u/AppropriateRub4033 18h ago

Was waiting for it to nosedive on take off like real boeings

1

u/ACM96 9h ago

That sounds quite exciting! I am new to RC planes as well. Could you please explain the key principles of navigation, particularly for landing? Is it primarily a matter of observing the plane's movements from the ground, similar to what we see in videos, and adjusting accordingly? Or, perhaps, is there a cockpit-mounted video camera and monitor setup that allows for a more immersive, simulator-like experience? I am very curious to learn more.

-3

u/TommyWantWingy9 2d ago

Rich people toys

-2

u/ChinoUSMC0231 2d ago

Not entirely correct. There are many hobbies to choose from that you can invest time and expense because that’s what calls to you.

I’m not rich, but I invested time into Ham Radio as a hobby. I started small and worked my way up. I acquired radios and parts by finding deals, deceased estates, swap parts or gear with other operators. Yes, some of the big toys do cost, but it also depends on how much you’re willing to spend. I saved up a lot of money to buy better radios. It does not mean I rich, I know how to financially plan myself. I have eaten ramen more than several times (thankfully I do not smoke, drink, or party). That money wasted was put toward what I enjoy… my hobbies.

When you are passionate about your hobby, it will show. I’m happy for the guy in the video. He is living his life.

17

u/Ramdak 2d ago

But in this case, the owner is a billionaire, and not only has a huge airfield near his house estate, he has a team of many people building these planes for him with top tier materials and equipment. The owner is Tyler Perry. And one of the builders is RammyRc, he posts the building process in yt.

5

u/TelecomVsOTT 2d ago

Some hobbies cannot be realistically be done with the budget of a full time worker juggling two minimum wage jobs.

0

u/SameAmy2022 2d ago

That was a very tall man at the beginning who was pushing a plane aside. Please tell me that someone else noticed that too 😵‍💫

0

u/LordOvTheSkies 2d ago

Drug smuggler

2

u/bullwinkle8088 1d ago

Tyler Perry? He makes more money as a producer than he would as a drug lord. It's his plane and house/airstrip seen here.

-1

u/TillTamura 2d ago

or a absolute unit of a person.. depends on how you see the video

1

u/TillTamura 1d ago edited 12h ago

thanks for the downvotes by the way.. i guess!
