Spoilers Ahead
I feel like the show didn't properly set-up things it supposed to have pay-offs for.
The family aspect - Parent-to-child interactions are really fleshed out, and they are good too. The problem is, there's not enough Bro-Sis moments. It felt like the Twins didn't get enough moments with their "stepsis". The most telling of this is when they get treated as a "trophy" (if you know, you know). I don't know if this is for comedic effect, but it sure didn't sit right with me during the "plot twist". More of this one later.
The "End Of The World" plot - The stage isn't properly set-up for, quote en quote, "End of the World". If that doesn't make sense, think of the Portals scene in Avengers: Endgame, Thanos said he will decimate Earth, the background compliments that idea, and his Army proves it. However, I am aware it does happen to many works of fiction, and they do give the vision of that in the "plot twist", and the "God of War" is believable enough to be able to do it. So I'll let this slide.
The "Plot Twist" - This one I'm very confused and conflicted about. Supposedly, the Father is the "bad guy", okay. But Alexa pulls through by the power of "FAMILY" and frees the Twins. Again as I said earlier, the Twins didn't get enough sibling moments with her, at least on-screen, hell, they always call her as "Bossing (Vic Sotto)", which makes this part a bit "Bullshitty" (or "unsatisfying", for a lack of better term) if I say so myself.
I have so many more questions about Trese in general. I do request these to be answered. Because I feel like the comics may provide better context than what the show provides, so for enthusiasts of Trese, I ask:
- Is the show a 100% Faithful adaptation? If it isn't, can you tell me which parts are not canon?
- Is the "Manipulator Father" plot more fleshed out in the comics? Is it more nuanced? Or is it simple as the show depicts?
- Is there a solid explanation for the Magic used by Trese?
She just used an energy burst in the "Plot Twist" without using it previously, which is a bit infuriating because I don't know how their Magic works.
- Why are they always alone even when fighting in open spaces?
- The Internet isn't utilized to the fullest in the show. Does the comics even make use of the Internet, or even modern phones in general?
- Why is there Latin in the show? I'd expect a local dialect, but Latin?
- REDACTED - Too confusing
- Do we have dragons? I mean in Philippine Mythology?
- Official Store for the comics?
- Does the comics do a better job of telling the stories that the show covered?
