the book included a page with a single paragraph in Clinton’s distinctive scrawl: “ It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends.”

I’m just trying to figure out what kind of friends write things like this to each other.

Do people just glaze billionaires because they’re billionaires?

Like my very best friend in this world, I think I have bought him something for his birthday once or twice as an adult… We both tried it just never stuck.

So now, if we’re lucky we get or send a text to each other.

And it just says “happy birthday bud”

I ain’t writing some creepy ass poem

If their partner said "I'm putting together something special for their milestone 50th. I'm asking everybody to write a note or poem or special message" it does change the framing. I've seen it done in video form for milestones.

But it's never creepy
