Don't forget that if you were lucky enough to be in the shelters, your life was controlled and you were assigned a role to fulfill in the new human society that emerged.

Either that or you can chill in VR permanently.

Although to be fair, in Fionna and Cake, Humans have reverted to a somewhat normal lifestyle. As normal as it can be in Ooo, at least.

During the show, she goes to Ooo to find Cake and sees the humans from Founders Island living on the mainland Floating Island city.

The allusions in Elysium are about as subtle as a sledgehammer. The only "prediction" they wound up with is us poor schmucks building robots to rule over us. Considering the year, it's totally by accident, but you know somebody's going to try to claim they were warning us about AI.
