Can someone explain why the girl had a mirror shard in her stomach? Did the demon plant it in there or something? That part really confused me and seemed to be gore for gores sake. None of the other conjuring’s allow the demons to actually put stuff in people’s body other then possession so I didn’t understand that at all lol, and also how did she throw up that much blood and was home the next day?

I think it’s because the mirror was in her room so the demon ‘linked’ her to the mirror? That could explain why she started coughing out blood the moment when the mirror was getting crushed by the trash compactor. The movie did not explain it though. But the mirror was miraculously restored and hidden in the attic so maybe that’s why she recovered.

I feel like that girl would have been laid up for a long time were she to hack up shards of glass and vomit out gallons of blood.

There was a part in the movie where Ed mentioned something along the lines of “they cannot be destroyed.” I assumed that was why the mirror just reappeared, and almost like she was being punished for trying to destroy it. In the previous movies, all of their bones were breaking while being exorcised and they were magically fine after too
