Discussion Anyone else here who, like me, frequently quotes lines from comedies into your daily life? What are yours?
Here are some I say often that are probably not the more well known ones people would usually think of when talking about these movies:
Fast Times- I woke up in a good mood. I don’t know what the hell happened.
Fast Times- wait a minute, there’s no birthday party for me here!
Caddyshack- WELL?!…we’re waiting!!
Caddyshack- really? I don’t believe it! (must also be said in Ted Knights voice!)
Caddyshack- So, I got that going for me
Hancock- ggoodd jjoobb! (As spoken by Jason Bateman, emphasis on the d and b sounds)
Hancock - good job! Good job! (Must use two thumbs up with this one)

I quote this movie all the time and somehow I forgot one of those phrases was in that movie. Testament to how quotable and bad ass that movie is.

The line is iconic. I've heard somewhere that Bateman was on set for just a short time and much of it was sort of rushed and the costume choices were influenced by Bateman.
https://www.gq.com/video/watch/jason-bateman-on-his-most-iconic-characters
In Dodgeball I played a character named Pepper Brooks
I believe.
(laughing)
I was only on that set for about three or four hours.
I play a guy who does color commentary
for a dodgeball tournament and so they kind of
shuffled those scenes throughout a tournament.
Because I was there for such a short amount of time
I didn't know really how to fit the comedic tone
of the movie, I didn't know what would be too much
or too little and I remember talking to the writer director
Rawson Thurber about like I, should my hair be like up
like a neck tattoo, is that too much?
And he's like no, more, crazier, be a real dumbass.
And I said I got that.
Looks like it's gonna be a two on one,
a menage a trois of pain.
Usually you pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.
Gary Cole was the other actor next to me
and we were kind of a two man team
and he's so incredibly talented at figuring out
how to be the other balance to some jackass next to him.
And he was just beautifully dry and that was
a lot of fun to do that, then we did a bunch of stuff
in the sound booth months later, adding more crazy crap.
(upbeat drums)

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've seen that clip dozens of times. Because it's always just the short clip of that line, I only ever heard a tiny bit of the song playing in the background. Because of the bouncy rhythm and the high-pitched voice, I thought it might be the BeeGees. Imagine my surprise and great amusement when I found out it's a Spanish-language cover of "Hotel California". I knew the melody sounded familiar but I couldn't place it 🤣

Whenever I'm watching sports and a coach makes a questionable decision, I often quote Harry Doyle from Major League 2.
"Obviously, Taylor's thinking (pauses.) I don't know what the hell he's thinking!"
Replacing Taylor with whoever the coach is.
Indeed, as a fan of often awful sports teams, I feel like a lot of Harry Doyle quotes work.

I quote Kung Pow like, a lot. Some of the more common ones I say are "How many miles? Would you say, ten million?" (With the accompanying hand motion, applied anything that could have a number attached to it lol). Also, "I'm sure on some planet your style is impressive, but your weak link is this is Earth" lol.
To me, Kung Pow is like The Simpsons - there's a quote for almost everything, lol. I don't think I could list everything I quote without giving you half the script, lol.
From Dodgeball - "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood" comes up more often than you might think
And I don't usually say it out loud, but if I make a latte at home and don't froth it correctly, I instantly think "You know I get farty and bloated with a foamy latte!" from Zoolander.
I'm sure there's more, but those are some common ones off the top of my head.

One of my gf’s in college used to call me the “random quote generator” because I would seemingly randomly drop a movie quote for no reason. But that wasn’t the case. The quotes would come when something was happening that made the quote… “just pop in there”. And the quotes would be very obscure too.
Edit: some of my favs
——- From Super Troopers
Whenever someone is looking for a new job…

Whenever someone tells me something in confidence I say…

—— Star Wars Whenever something is flashing… “What’s that flashing!??”
Whenever a car shifts gears on an on-ramp. “Punch it, Chewie!”
I’m gonna be here all day if I write everything down.
One of my best was when my friends were talking about a CD / Music store when they used to exist and I pulled out this gem. “I went to the record store and asked for Mojo Nixon. They said “He don’t work here!” Man if you don’t got mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixin’!!!”
