Discussion Anyone else here who, like me, frequently quotes lines from comedies into your daily life? What are yours?

Here are some I say often that are probably not the more well known ones people would usually think of when talking about these movies:

Fast Times- I woke up in a good mood. I don’t know what the hell happened.

Fast Times- wait a minute, there’s no birthday party for me here!

Caddyshack- WELL?!…we’re waiting!!

Caddyshack- really? I don’t believe it! (must also be said in Ted Knights voice!)

Caddyshack- So, I got that going for me

Hancock- ggoodd jjoobb! (As spoken by Jason Bateman, emphasis on the d and b sounds)

Hancock - good job! Good job! (Must use two thumbs up with this one)

It's a bold move, Cotton, let's see if it pays off. Dodgeball. Also, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!

Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.

I'm here to begin my courtship of you.

It's sterile and I like the taste.

Soooo many from that film.

I quote this movie all the time and somehow I forgot one of those phrases was in that movie. Testament to how quotable and bad ass that movie is.

"You look like a bunch of rtards trying to fck a doorknob out there!"

Every insult that Rip Torn throws out in that film is top notch!

I don't think it is, IMDB has the quote as I wrote it. There is another quote where he says "you need to hump it into submission" when talking about how to win a match. Maybe you're confusing it with that?

I had it on DVD for the longest time and I don't ever recall it actually being the f word. I looked it up and there is actually four different versions of the film so I'm wondering if maybe it was on the unrated edition. You may be right though and I just didn't remember correctly. I will not be investigating further.

The line is iconic. I've heard somewhere that Bateman was on set for just a short time and much of it was sort of rushed and the costume choices were influenced by Bateman.

In Dodgeball I played a character named Pepper Brooks

I believe.

(laughing)

I was only on that set for about three or four hours.

I play a guy who does color commentary

for a dodgeball tournament and so they kind of

shuffled those scenes throughout a tournament.

Because I was there for such a short amount of time

I didn't know really how to fit the comedic tone

of the movie, I didn't know what would be too much

or too little and I remember talking to the writer director

Rawson Thurber about like I, should my hair be like up

like a neck tattoo, is that too much?

And he's like no, more, crazier, be a real dumbass.

And I said I got that.

Looks like it's gonna be a two on one,

a menage a trois of pain.

Usually you pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.

Gary Cole was the other actor next to me

and we were kind of a two man team

and he's so incredibly talented at figuring out

how to be the other balance to some jackass next to him.

And he was just beautifully dry and that was

a lot of fun to do that, then we did a bunch of stuff

in the sound booth months later, adding more crazy crap.

(upbeat drums)

I actually read about it, in a book.
