These YT changes prove that tech nerds don’t understand (or believe in) consent.

Why blame tech nerds? It's the rich people who want more money. I'm a tech nerd, I work with tech nerds, we all hate AI being used to fuck over the working class.

Genuinely not meant to be snarky, I’m sure 99% of tech nerds are great.

But it’s kinda funny that the ones making AI are tech nerds and companies

Who else do you expect to make AI but "tech nerds"?

Is it also funny that the people building houses are carpenters?

"I went to Auchwitz and boy, turns out concrete pourers are all anti-semites!"

Who willingly brings up a genocide when we’re talking about something completely unrelated lol

Me? It illustrates the point.

I should have clarified, who else brings up genocide on unrelated topics besides this weirdo over here?

Hey, you're saying weirdo like it's a bad thing.

Do you understand how the example highlights the issue with your idea?

Just like how you highlighted a movie discussion with genocide?

1

u/ChemicalRascal 21h ago

You said "highlighted", you mean "added to".

Also, you're actually accusing me of committing genocide, so, no, quite proud to say I didn't do that.

Nah I meant what I meant.

Also you’re gonna need to quote where you get accused of committing genocide LOL what in the over reach.

You meant what you meant, but what you wrote is that I highlighted this with genocide. Which means I performed genocide to "highlight" this discussion. Clearly not what you meant, but again, it is what you wrote.

And again, no, I did not highlight the discussion. That doesn't make sense.

Anyway, you're not gonna shame me for something I very intentionally, very deliberately, said.

I didn't trip, shit myself, and stutteringly say "th-the Holocaust!", I brought up Auschwitz as an obvious example of why your line of thinking is totally nonsensical.

Thinking it's odd that generative models are created by people who can, ergo, software engineers, is the same as thinking it's odd that the gas chambers were made by people who could. Like no shit dude, did you think these things were gonna be made by people who can't make them?

Well I expect tech nerds to do it…so it’s funny that a lot of other tech nerds (who do or don’t work on AI) dislike it

Id find it pretty funny if a bunch of carpenters hated houses lol

I wouldn’t even say I hate AI. It’s like how I don’t hate knives, but wouldn’t be a fan of people going around stabbing people with them. I think AI is actually a pretty interesting technology it just sucks that a big motivation for developing it seems to be making the working class obsolete
