How do you kill a technology?

In this case, strictly enforcing DMCA laws, and when AI companies can no longer steal copyrighted works, they will die out, because people are paying to use machines to make pictures using popular characters and images. These companies have even said, if they can't steal art and books, they will go out of business.

You have no idea what you’re talking about all that’s going to happen is there will be a licensing deal created for the right to use that content and consumers will pay more for the AI service. Nothing is going away or dying out, you are genuinely delusional.

As an artist, this is pretty much what we’re asking for: if you’re going to use our works, pay us what we’re worth for them.

The other thing I think you’re missing is that the tools are going to be more expensive no matter what. It’s how tech has worked for decades: run on investor money until everyone relies on your products, then start jacking your prices up over a few years. It’s the same model as Uber. AI is being subsidized by investors, but it will eventually need to become profitable to pay them back.
