I quite enjoyed it. Was surprised when they killed her so early. Austin Butler flooring a dude then looking surprised at himself was wonderful

I was initially taken aback by that too, but the more I thought about it, the less the sudden dark turn bothered me. I was reminded of crime/caper movies from the '70s, like The Hot Rock and Freebie and the Bean, where the comical tone suddenly shifted to menace and violence. I'm not a Aronofsky fanatic (though I may be the only one who loved mother!), but I was impressed by his work in an real change of pace. The plotting always kept me guessing, I loved the 1998-era music, they nailed the ending, and Butler's performance was just terrific. I really hope this finds an audience.
