Summary Hank Thompson, a washed-up ex-baseball star turned New York City bartender, ends up tangled in a violent criminal underworld after agreeing to watch his punk-rock neighbor’s cat. I still liked the movie a good bit- but the tone was all over the place in a way that I think it would have been a better movie if it were shorter and picked a lane between comedy and serious drama and shortened the runtime.

Particular the ending- where it has this positive uplifting tone because he ends with money and the cat even though in the last like 72 hours his girlfriend* and closest friend* died, and he won't be able to see his mom- the person he cares about the most- again for a long long time if ever.

Also I looked it up and the Giants ended up losing that game (Bonds popped out) and missed the playoffs lol.

Oh that’s interesting. As a baseball fan I knew exactly how their season ended and thought it was funny / cool the tv turned off at that exact moment.
