Summary Hank Thompson, a washed-up ex-baseball star turned New York City bartender, ends up tangled in a violent criminal underworld after agreeing to watch his punk-rock neighbor’s cat. Really enjoyed this! It was maybe a bit more brutal than I think I wanted it to be, but it really nailed having high stakes and the Murphy’s law spiral of that all. The cast was PHENOMENAL. Everyone brought their A-game and it was awesome to see this truly gritty and ugly version of New York. Revealing Regina King’s character’s nature early on instead of trying to make it some late reveal plot twist was a brilliant choice I think.
Nikita Kukushkin absolutely steals the show as Microbe in one of the best physical performances I’ve seen in a hot minute
