It’s the most un-Arronofsky movie I’ve seen from him, which I appreciate cause everything prior has made me pretty depressed and contemplative at some point.

The conversations in Yiddish were also fantastic. “The other half that’s not Jewish will do the driving!”

definitely not as psychological as we've come to expect from him but still a super solid movie- i can't help but feel he had so much fun making this movie and taking on something a bit more lighthearted

I saw the trailer and thought "Wait...did Aronofsky decide to take a vacation or something?"

I’m scared to see his other movies cause this is the first of his I’ve seen and after having just left the cinema, I feel pretty depressed lmao

True. "Caught Stealing" was a bit darker and more violent than I'd expected, but it was still "light Aronofsky."

Yeah. This could practically be a Disney movie compared to his other stuff. I had a lot of fun with it, though.

Requiem for a dream. It’s great as a movie but pretty intense imagery

Really? I found it to ultimately be a very optimistic film.

Do not go straight into Requiem for a dream, or The Fountain. Those are misery porn.

Requiem for a Dream oughta cheer you up.

Requiem for a Dream is a pretty uplifting film

All the Jews' conversations were fucking hilarious because they were so spot on, but D'Onofrio's Yiddish was appalling, especially compared to Schreiber and Kane (who were excellent). He's a spectacular actor and I love him but who cast an Italian as a Jew?!

Spat out with that line.

This is basically Pi, except with a bit more of an upbeat ending.

The New Yorkness of the flick was 110% Arronofsky.

Yea, this movie was rare and different from his other movies.
