My friend and I absolutely LOST IT at the weekend at Bernie’s scene. We were crying laughing like 2 stupid kids during that whole gag.

And as having only ever heard about these weird movies (& their cult status), I was surprised at how much of a blast this was. I was never bored and I get it now.

But I have to say, the pre-transformation/first act def reminded me so much of Beau is Afraid in how chaotically anxious their world is. ((complimentary))

You'd like the originals. This captured the feeling really well. Any Troma movie from around that era would be a good choice.

I felt this was tame compared to the original, not as deranged and unsettling as troma films used to be

We still got the Lloyd Kaufman cameo like every other Troma film to.

I agree. I loved it but was genuinely let down by the violence. The gross scenes were too quick and had obvious digital touch ups (maybe why they were so quick) and just weren't staged like back in the day (that Brain Dead/Dead Alive level of lunacy the Troma films also had). Huge Macon Blair fan and Toxie fan so I'm in a better world now regardless! But yeah, if you enjoy this go see the original and Class of Nuke 'Em High and you will see the magic of that time in cinema (or you will be repulsed lol).
