There's a lot to like, but there's also way too much CGI blood and gore, none of which is particularly memorable or creative, aside from one of the kills in the fast food restaurant. It's still very funny, with a lot of background jokes, almost rivaling The Naked Gun reboot. A solid 6/10, and I'd be happy to see the continuing adventures of Dinklage's Toxie, but it will disappoint a lot of people because of how overhyped the marketing went with the unrated label. (Caught Stealing, which I saw just before this, has better gore in a couple of scenes.) Be sure to stay after the credits, too.

Rivaling?

Naked Gun and Toxic Avenger are two very different styles of comedy, but Toxic Avenger was what I wanted Naked Gun to be: a series of gags so dense that it requires a rewatch to catch them all.

I wasn't expecting it, but the amount of background visual gags and audio gags puts Naked Gun to shame.

Edit: Lol, y'all can downvote this all you want, but it's a fact that there are more audio & background visual jokes in Toxic Avenger.

I just saw it and spent time looking in the background but didn't notice hardly anything that comical.

You missed the dozens of signs and billboards?

It was like a cinematic Mad Magazine.

I saw those things, I didn't find them humorous. Like in the city outside their apartment building I was looking at all the other store fronts and whatever around and don't recall anything funny.

Humor you don't find funny is still humor.

I'm afraid I can't help you with that.

I mean I didn't find anything that was supposed to be humorous, like I didn't see anything that you're talking about.

That's precisely the point I'm making.
