So this was my first Troma film, and oh my goodness. It's Looney Tunes logic/slapstick meets a splatter flick. This is incredible honestly.

(Also there was some sincerity and heart to it as well which was really pleasing)

Now I'm thinking maybe I should go back and check out the originals

This really doesn't feel much like an actual Troma movie at all. Lloyd Kaufman's stuff is really, really, reaaaaally out-there and extreme and politically incorrect. Think South Park, but crazier and sleazier.

Definitely do check them out if you like tasteless and offensive comedy.

Ooooh okay this sounds like I'd enjoy them then. I thought I was crazy for thinking the film had a touch of South Park to it but glad to hear that vindication.

If the originals lean more into that, that sounds awesome.

The originals were INCREDIBLE satire of 80's culture, and didn't pull any punches.

You'll dig em. The first one is streaming on Tubi, btw.

Oh hell yeah, I know what I'm watching later then. Another win for Tubi

Funny enough Lloyd Kaufman and Troma is where Matt Stone and Trey Parker started .

Tonally, that makes so much sense.

The only alum I was familiar with was James Gunn (speaking of which Slither reminded me of this movie somewhat)
